Need A Break From My Break

Wow…I can’t keep up with things anymore. I’ve barely been online the past two weeks, not because I don’t want to be, but because I’ve been so flipping busy! We were out for most of the weekend. When I wasn’t socilaizing, I was critiquing (I’m getting there Amy!).

I’ve also begun edits for two new EC novels. The Bond That Consumes Us is looking good. That’s right, Taber will be coming your way soon! Primal Elements is book one in a new series that I have planned. I had to clean a few things up, but I forgot how much I liked that story.

I’ve been so busy with this stuff, I’m actually behind in my TV viewing. Not that there’s much on anymore, but I’m about three episodes behind for Battlestar Galatica. The only good thing, is that I’ll have three to watch back to back. :D

Did you all have a good weekend? What did you do?

The Year Everyone Dies

Okay Hollywood…enough. Please. That goes for you too BBC.

I typically love season finales for TV shows. Really I do. But this year has just about killed me. There are very few shows that I actually watch on a regular basis, but so far this year, the finale of each of them has seen the death of at least one principle (or regularly reoccurring and I happen to really like)  character.

I’ve cried enough!!!

Please no more…

Torchwood, House, NCIS…Stargate: Atlantis has then entire crew buried alive at the moment…and I missed last week’s CSI, but I’ve heard rumors. I know in Battlestar Galatica at least one, if not more of those characters will die before the show finishes.

It’s just too much for this little fangirl’s heart to take.

*sob*

Sorry State of Sci-Fi on TV

Hello everyone!! Sorry I disappeared there last week. My parents came to town and I’ve been having a fantastic time with them. This weekend I went out and bought the entire seven seasons of Buffy The Vampire Slayer. They were on sale and I couldn’t resist. Of course this has gotten me thinking about the sorry state of Sci-Fi on TV these days.

Battlestar Galatica is in its last season, they cancelled Moonlight, the Bionic Woman and Sarah Connor Chronicles were disappointing, and I can’t even think of another new sci-fi show on TV these days.

What happened??

Doctor Who only has a few episodes left this series and then I’ve got nothing to keep me going for months. I don’t even know when Torchwood is coming back, but I imagine its January 09 at least. And Stargate: Atlantis won’t be back until September.

*dramatic sigh*

This is why I write people…I need something to fill the gap in my life. Anyone out there that can recommend a good show, please let me know. If not, I’m going to be going back to rewatch Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Stargate: SG1 on DVD.

Sexy eh?

I don’t know how I find some of these things…

So I was browsing the net the other day (don’t laugh Amy-I know I do that most days) and I came across this article about how Canadian’s aren’t really considered sexy. There are some awesome quotes there, but this one in particular made me giggle.

“As a people we have two problems. The first I would dub the Tilley Hat phenomenon. No-one looks good in a Tilley hat, but they’re damn practical. When you live in a country where you spend eight months a year trying to stay warm and four more warding off mosquitoes you tend to lean toward the practical. Tilley hats and Sears down coats are not sexy.”

OMG Canadian’s are the fashion equivalent to Tilley hats!! Sad, but true (and yes I’m Canadian so I’m allowed to say that).

Of course this gets me to thinking…what do we consider sexy? I know I have a thing for accents. Oh yes, my poor husband just rolls his eyes at me now every time I’m watching Doctor Who, Torchwood, or complain that they should let Jamie Bamber (Apollo from Battlestar Galatica) talk with his British accent.

Mind you, this is the same man who puts on his French accent for me on occasion. Work with what you’ve got people.

I know a lot of people think that eyes are sexy, voices, nice firm butts…that are very squeezable…sorry wandered there.

So what is sexy? Is is an attitude? State of mind?

And why the hell can’t we Canadian’s be sexy?!?! I happen to like Tilley hats…

Starting Over

So I’ve come to the realization this weekend that I need to hit a metaphorical “reset” button on how I’ve been doing things recently. I’ve been pushing myself hard in some areas of my life and neglecting other (more important) parts. As a result, I’m going to change things up.

I wanted to let you all know that I’m officially switching my blog to Sunday, Wednesday and Friday posts for the next little while. That way, I can keep you all entertained *snort* with my ramblings, but also giving myself a chance to visit your blogs on the off days. No, I won’t hit you all every week, but I need to get out there. I miss you all!

Next, I need to recomit myself to my writing. Not going crazy, trying to write 5000 a day, but at least sit down, open up my WIP and type. If I get 200 words…then fantastic!

I also need to get out and do some exercise. I think this will really help me with my stress level and recharge my creative well. I’m going to look into what kind of exercise makes sense with my schedule, though I really want to get into running again. I’ll keep you posted.

One good thing is that I’m actually reading again. I haven’t read in a long time, and now I’m suddenly sucked back into it. Currently, I’m eating up Kelley Armstrong’s No Human’s Involved…and man I’m loving it! I’m also enjoying all my TV shows that are back. It’s been helping to relax me.

And I can believe it, but The Bond That Heals Us is coming out soon!! I can’t believe that Sara and Davin are going to be coming out to play with you all. I really need to do some promo LOL! Least I can do is post the cover. :D Have I mentioned how much I LOVE this cover??

Getting there

I did it! I sat my butt down in my chair last night and managed to get some writing done. Just over a 1000 words, so I’m pleased with that. Tonight I have to take the girls to Girl Guides, so I won’t be able to get started until 9:00pm, but I plan to shoot for another 1000 words.

I’m determined to finish this puppy!

And a big YEAH!! that NCIS was back on TV last night. Everyone was in fine form, the story was interesting and a nice little hook at the end. I didn’t realize just how much I missed this show.

And I think my husband is officially hooked on JR Ward. He’s currently reading Dark Lover, and seems to be really enjoying the story. I’m glad because it means I can chat with him about them. :D

Speaking of which, has anyone read any good urban paranormals recently? I’m looking for a new author to try and am open to suggestions.

Fitting In

Writing is so much fun. I love it – I wish I could write all day everyday. Sadly, I can’t…not yet anyway. Even worse, I haven’t been able to write for the past five days.

It’s killing me.

So, I’m going to take a deep breath and make a promise to myself to fit in my writing better than I have recently. I’m almost done my story and I really need to make a point of finishing it. Yes, I’m going to kick my own ass again and get writing!

Now I feel better…please make sure that I do this everyone. Call me on it if you’re not seeing regular updates!

I had a good weekend TV wise. I dubbed it sci-fi weekend. The season finale of Torchwood was on (sob), and then Saturday the premier of Doctor Who and Battlestar Galatica was on. They were awesome and I’m so glad to have a new show to watch again.  NCIS is back on tomorrow too *does the happy dance*!

Yes, I know I’m rambling…

How is everyone making out?

Finale Friday

The day I’ve been waiting for (and regretting) is finally here! Tonight the season finale of Torchwood is on. I can’t wait to see it…but I’m sad that it’s now done for a year. The only good news is that the next season of Doctor Who starts tomorrow! Yes, I’ll simply shift my obsession from one show to the next LOL!

The rest of my TV shows start up this week as well, and I’m very thankful. Now I just need to get my book finished so I can enjoy them. :D

This weekend I plan on getting some writing done. The girls start swimming lessons again, so I’ll be on the road a bit. I’ve been sick most of this week, so I plan to take it easy and not push things too hard.

So what about you? Plans? Fun, excitement?

Still Alive

Hello my friends.

Yes, I’m still here. I’m holding on by my finger nails, but I’m here. I’ve managed to somehow sneak my writing in to my life, which is starting to get harder and harder. Thankfully, I’m sitting at 58k word count on my urban paranormal.

And I’m heading into the home stretch with it! With any luck I’ll be done the first draft in a few weeks, and then I can actually go back and clean it up.

Then the fun begins.

I’m really ready for a vacation. I know, I know, I just had a long weekend. But I really didn’t get a chance to rest durning it. I have some time off coming up in May, and I’m really excited for it.

I’m also really happy that the TV shows will be starting up again soon. I mean, Torchwood is done Friday, so there better be something starting soon! NCIS, House, Battlestar Galatica, and Doctor Who all star in the next week, so Christine will be a happy camper.

How is everyone making out?

Brain Melted

OMG Torchwood…my fandom exploded because of “the scene” in last night’s episode. And the next new one is on TOMORROW!! Of course I’ll be away, but I’m going to do my damnedest to watch it.

OMG…so…just wow!

Oh and I did some writing. I think around 900 words.

That scene!!
