*bounces* I love it when things all come together! Five and a half years ago, I sold my first book to Ellora’s Cave. I never expected to have anything beyond The Bond That Ties Us, so when my editor asked if there was a book two, I had a small panic attack. Over the next few years, not only did I have a book two, but three and four followed.

I’m very pleased to be able to let you know that book four, The Bond That Saves Us, is now available in print from EC and from Amazon!

Blurb

Captain Amy needs money and the Catallian race can provide it. The race showcases the best pilots the sector has ever known. Amy plans on winning it with the help of her new copilot, the mysterious and sexy Sean—as long as she can keep her sex pheromones in check. But her attraction to Sean kicks her body into overdrive, overwhelming them both.

Sean has left friends and duty behind. Intending to heal mind and spirit, he joins Amy as her bodyguard and copilot. Sean has no interest in forming a bond with Amy, even though their lust for each other is undeniable.

As the two find themselves battling their uncontrollable attraction, they are forced to fight a drug lord intent on fixing the race—even if it means taking Amy and her crew out of the running permanently.

So I’m at a conference. And today I learned about how to make book trailers. After a grand total of 25 minutes, I made two trailers that I’m not embarrassed to put on the Internet. Well, maybe a little.

But only 25 minutes people!!

Here is one I did up for Commanding Acquisitions.

And here is one I did for my Eternal Bond series.

Sunday is supposed to be a day for reflection. As I sit here on my bed, cup of coffee in hand, I’m trying to get my head around a lot of news I’ve received recently. Thankfully, most of it is good! I thought I’d share with you some of the things coming up in the Christineland.

In Print

I found out on Friday that not one, or two, but three of my Ellora’s Cave books will be coming out in print in 2011! For those of you collecting the paperbacks, both The Bond That Consumes Us and The Bond That Saves Us will be hitting the shelves. I’m also thrilled to have learned that Primal Elements will also be coming out in print! I’ll keep you posted on any other updates.

New Sales

I have a very exciting new sale that I am desperate to announce, but I can’t quite yet. I just received the contract and will be sending it in shortly (must give it a good read through first). Let’s just say I’m VERY excited with this one.

EDIT: Hell, I just read the contract and signed, so I’m going to announce it anyway! I’m thrilled to say that my short story, Bruised Ego, will be in the November 2011 Berkley anthology, Agony and Ecstacy. To say I’m still in shock is an understatement. I have to thank J.K Coi for encouraging (making) me write this story right before the deadline. Even better? Her story also got in!!!

Reviews

Thank you to everyone who has bought and read No Remedy! I have received a ton of emails on this book and many people are also going back to read No Quarter. I had this review from Carla at RomFan Reviews pop up in my Google Alerts. They gave No Remedy a five hunk rating! Thanks to them and please check out their other reviews.

I know I’ve said it before, but to everyone who has taken the time to either place a review on Goodreads, the Ellora’s Cave site, a blog or even sent me an email – THANK YOU! Your comments mean so much to me.

Coming Soon

I have two releases coming out in the next few weeks! Commanding Acquisitions is my first novella in the 1-800-DOM-help series from Ellora’s Cave. Writing this book was like a gift from my (smutty) muse. Simon and Gavin came to me complete (with a bow around their necks) and the story setup really flowed. I am really excited it will be out on November 10th and I hope to have the cover to share with you shortly.

In addition, I have a short story coming out as part of the EC Merry Kinkmas line. My story Firm Touch will be out on December 6th and has to deal with….

*drum roll*

M/M Fisting.

*and waits for the audience to breath again*

I know what you’re thinking, but it is a very thinking/smutty book. According to my beta readers, it’s pretty hot too LOL! I’ll have to wait to see what you all think about it.

In Progress

With all this going on, I’m not slowing down. I am currently working on No Master, which is book three in my space pirate series. This one is dealing with Korbin, the Admiral of the Black and Zain Strand, his second in command. I’m about a third of the way through I am hoping to have it finished by the end of December.

I’ll be working on a different book for NaNoWriMo. I’m still working out all the details, but the book will be three interconnected novellas. Should be a lot of fun.

I also have plans to do a second book for the 1-800-DOM-help series. More on that once I get it done.

Well, that’s me. As always, I’ll keep people posted of updates as they happen. I wish everyone a fantastic week!

I’m always flattered when I get a positive review on any of my books. I love writing and will probably never stop, but to know someone has taken the time to read and comment on something I’ve done always makes me so grateful.

Then sometimes you get a review that means just that little bit more. I wish I was exaggerating when I said Megan’s review from Night Owl Reviews had me choked up. Thank you, Megan for all of your kind words.

Have you ever come across a book that is so REAL that you find yourself on a rollercoaster between almost crying for your characters and feeling an odd sense of pride in them? Like the romance is made even more honest because you can actually FEEL how hard it is for one or both characters to find and accept it, fully? That is exactly what I felt within the first few chapters of “The Bond That Saves Us”, and I was not released from this spell until a while AFTER the story actual ended. Five stars are not enough… and I never give all five….

Megan graciously gave The Bond That Saves Us a Reviewer’s Top Pick. Please pop on over to Night Owl Reviews to see everything Megan had to say.

It’s amazing how quickly life actually goes by. On Wednesday my oldest daughter turns ten. We had her birthday party/sleep-over this past weekend and had a ball. The whole time I’m staring at her and am in shock that I have a ten year old. She’s become her own person and I couldn’t be prouder of her.

When I asked her what she wanted to be when she old older, she told me she plans on being a kindergarten teacher. “But if that doesn’t work out, I’ll be a writer, mummy.” I was so proud!

Happy birthday baby!

Speaking of proud…I opened my inbox this morning to the most amazing review from Two Lips Reviews. The ever fantastic Merrylee gave The Bond That Saves Us five Lips!! It was an incredibly flattering review.

Sadly, The Bond That Saves Us is the final book in this exceptionally good series. I’ve read all four books, and I can truthfully say that they are not to be missed. Christine D’Abo not only writes with a knowledgeable flare for futuristic sci-fi, her characters are powerfully human – even if they aren’t. The pages of her books read fluidly, with absolutely no drag anywhere. Her world building and plot lines are extraordinarily well drawn and captivating. Beyond that, no other author I’ve read reaches quite the depth of sensuality and emotion in their sex scenes as does Ms. D’Abo. In fact, her sex scenes can be more aptly described as love scenes, as they grab hold of the reader’s heartstrings and hang on tight. You can’t read a D’Abo novel without sinking heart and soul into the lives of her characters, who seem so real it’s hard to believe they do not truly exist.

Thank you so much Merrylee for your kind words. You can read the review in its entirety over at Two Lips Reviews.

The most humbling thing in the world for me is when I get notified of a review for one of my books. The fact that someone took the time to read my stories, but then goes on to say something (good or bad) about it really is mind blowing to me.

I’ve recently received a few reviews for The Bond That Saves Us, and I wanted to share them.

Tanya from Joyfully Reviewed honored me by giving The Bond That Saves Us a Recommended Read.

I have long waited for Sean to find peace. I have loved his character from the first in this series. The Bond That Saves Us did not let me down as Sean has found his match in Captain Amy. I was pulled in from the start of The Bond That Saves Us and while it is the fourth in a series it could easily be a standalone story, though you would miss three other wonderful tales. I Joyfully Recommend The Bond That Saves Us as it is a fast paced and interesting read.

To follow that, I just heard that the fantastic Elise Lyn over at Sensual e-Cataromance gave me 4 out of 5 stars!

The Bond series was exciting and unique with each story giving us something different. Sean was plagued with feelings of guilt from the past while Amy was determined to enter a race even with danger lurking everywhere. The two together were dynamite but their pasts blinded them to what they could have. Typical of the Bond series, The Bond That Saves Us has realistic characters, an excellent plot and some heat to warm us up.

Thank you so much ladies for your kind words, and thank you to all the readers out there who kept me going with this series. I hope to have some new works out for you soon.

Hello everyone!

Well, I’m sorry for the absence recently. Things are crazy as always in the household, but moving along nicely. I’ve recently finished edits on a book that I’ll be sending over to my Samhain editor (cross fingers that she likes it), and am at the halfway mark on a new erotic futuristic. The few people who have read the chapters I’ve done so far really like it. I’m going to push to have it finished and off to my EC editor by the end of the month.

Speaking of EC…

I just received my first review for The Bond That Saves Us!! It received 4.5 / 5 Nymphs from Literary Nymphs Reviews.

*does a snoopy dance*

Here’s a small peek…

The sexual tension between Amy and Sean starts off hot and only gets hotter, as these two lovers spend more time together, until their desire is molten hot and almost out of control. Both are afraid of admitting their need for the other, and the author does a wonderful job describing their unease, fear and confusion. Ms. d’Abo’s integration of old and new characters…friends was seamless, lending the story a sense of depth, caring and family.

You can check out the entire review here.

And on a side note. There was a problem with the contact form on my website. It’s been fixed by my wonderful web guy, so feel free to email me any questions or comments you may have.

OMG!! I opened my email to discover my author copies of The Bond That Saves Us sitting there. I peeked over at my calendar and sure enough IT COMES OUT TODAY!!

*does a snoopy dance*

This book really was a long one in the making. Sean’s character started out as my original villain in The Bond That Ties Us. As I got further into writing that book, I realized just how much potential Sean had as a leading man. He was wonderfully screwed up as a result of the events of that story, and it took me until now to get him to a stage where I feel his character could find happiness.

Needless to say, he and Amy have a few things to work out before he gets his happily ever after.

I’m not planning any further books in the Eternal Bond series as of today. You never know if another idea will jump up and bite me though. So if there is someone out there who has a burning desire to see one of my secondary characters have a story, let me know.

For your pleasure, I’ll leave you with an excerpt. It’s a steamy one…so be warned! I hope you all enjoy the story.

“Amy, what’s wrong?”

Her attention snapped back to Sean. He hadn’t moved or had given any indication that he’d noticed the men, but he’d obviously picked up on her discomfort. Nodding her head very slightly in their direction, she reached out and played with the hem of his shirt.

“Remember that broken arm of mine?”

“Yup.”

“Wasn’t exactly honest with how I got it.”

“Yeah, picked up on that.”

A startled laugh slipped out of her. “Really? See, this is why I could never be a smuggler. Can’t lie.”

“Is that what they wanted you to do?”

She couldn’t tell him the truth. Fuck, she didn’t want to put a complete stranger in danger’s path for no reason. That and the fact Tyrell would tear her apart. She moved closer to him, cocking her head to the side.

“Wanted me to throw the race, actually. Make sure their man won so he could clean up in the betting circuit. Though I can’t prove anything, so there’s no point in brining my complaint to the authorities.”

Sean sighed, and stepped closer to her. She could feel the heat coming off his body, the scent of his skin, sweat and musk, and it all made her dizzy. Damn, if she didn’t get settled soon, he’d start feeling the effects of her pheromones. She had no doubt that a man like Sean wouldn’t appreciate being controlled without his knowing. Still, she was fast running out of options. Without thinking she licked her lips, placed her open palm on his chest and leaned forward.

“So, is your place near here?”

“A few minutes away. They still watching?”

“Haven’t moved.”

“And they have a clear view of us?”

“Sure do. Why?”

He closed the distance between them, his mouth hot and firm against hers. The surge of blood through her body made her cunt throb and caused her to move tight against him to rub against his chest and thighs. His tongue fleetingly flicked along her bottom lip, dragging a moan from her. Gods, she had no problem imagining what that tongue would feel like lapping at her clit. How his hands would squeeze at her hips, holding her in place while he devoured her.

When he finally pulled back, it was just enough so he could speak. His hot breath tickled her skin. “Okay, now they think we’re going to be heading out for sex. I’ll get us to my quarters and call security from there.”

“No, please,” she breathed against his lips, biting down softly on the lower one. “They’ll know I’ve had something to do with it. Tyrell said he’d kill my crew if I did that.”

“Don’t worry. Taber will think of something.”

“I don’t think—”

“Amy, trust me.”

Fuck, she didn’t even know the guy, how was she supposed to trust him? Still, she felt safer with him than she did with anyone else. And he was far sight better than the two goons down the hall. Basically, she had no choice. Nothing like a no-win situation.

“We can discuss the details once we get to your place. Lead on.”
