State of the Bedroom…err Union

Sunday is supposed to be a day for reflection. As I sit here on my bed, cup of coffee in hand, I’m trying to get my head around a lot of news I’ve received recently. Thankfully, most of it is good! I thought I’d share with you some of the things coming up in the Christineland.

In Print

I found out on Friday that not one, or two, but three of my Ellora’s Cave books will be coming out in print in 2011! For those of you collecting the paperbacks, both The Bond That Consumes Us and The Bond That Saves Us will be hitting the shelves. I’m also thrilled to have learned that Primal Elements will also be coming out in print! I’ll keep you posted on any other updates.

New Sales

I have a very exciting new sale that I am desperate to announce, but I can’t quite yet. I just received the contract and will be sending it in shortly (must give it a good read through first). Let’s just say I’m VERY excited with this one.

EDIT: Hell, I just read the contract and signed, so I’m going to announce it anyway! I’m thrilled to say that my short story, Bruised Ego, will be in the November 2011 Berkley anthology, Agony and Ecstacy. To say I’m still in shock is an understatement. I have to thank J.K Coi for encouraging (making) me write this story right before the deadline. Even better? Her story also got in!!!

Reviews

Thank you to everyone who has bought and read No Remedy! I have received a ton of emails on this book and many people are also going back to read No Quarter. I had this review from Carla at RomFan Reviews pop up in my Google Alerts. They gave No Remedy a five hunk rating! Thanks to them and please check out their other reviews.

I know I’ve said it before, but to everyone who has taken the time to either place a review on Goodreads, the Ellora’s Cave site, a blog or even sent me an email – THANK YOU! Your comments mean so much to me.

Coming Soon

I have two releases coming out in the next few weeks! Commanding Acquisitions is my first novella in the 1-800-DOM-help series from Ellora’s Cave. Writing this book was like a gift from my (smutty) muse. Simon and Gavin came to me complete (with a bow around their necks) and the story setup really flowed. I am really excited it will be out on November 10th and I hope to have the cover to share with you shortly.

In addition, I have a short story coming out as part of the EC Merry Kinkmas line. My story Firm Touch will be out on December 6th and has to deal with….

*drum roll*

M/M Fisting.

*and waits for the audience to breath again*

I know what you’re thinking, but it is a very thinking/smutty book. According to my beta readers, it’s pretty hot too LOL! I’ll have to wait to see what you all think about it.

In Progress

With all this going on, I’m not slowing down. I am currently working on No Master, which is book three in my space pirate series. This one is dealing with Korbin, the Admiral of the Black and Zain Strand, his second in command. I’m about a third of the way through I am hoping to have it finished by the end of December.

I’ll be working on a different book for NaNoWriMo. I’m still working out all the details, but the book will be three interconnected novellas. Should be a lot of fun. :)

I also have plans to do a second book for the 1-800-DOM-help series. More on that once I get it done. :)

Well, that’s me. As always, I’ll keep people posted of updates as they happen. I wish everyone a fantastic week!

The Bond That Consumes Us – Reviewer Top Pick!

This morning I woke up with an ear ache. It hurts and I’m a baby. So I thought this meant I was going to have a crappy morning. It turns out that the wonderful people from Night Owl Romace made it all better!

When I opened my email first thing this morning, I discovered that The Bond That Consumes Us got a 4.5/5 and a Review’s Top Pick from Night Owl. I’m so excited I’m doing a snoopy dance in my chair.

Here is what Aemelia had to say:

I really liked Fallon’s strong personality, and how she wasn’t afraid to act on her desires when she met Tabor. I loved Tabor’s protectiveness of her, and how he just couldn’t resist her charms. Tabor had some deep issues of guilt to overcome, I could understand his resistance, being raised to believe that his first mate was his only mate, he was unsure if he could trust the feelings he felt for Fallon. The chemistry and passion between them was so hot I felt my fingers singe from the pages.

I also enjoyed following the mystery of the killer throughout this tale, I was never really sure of the true culprit until the very end of the story.

You have no idea how pleased I am to know people are enjoying Taber’s story. His character was one that snuck up on me as a writer. I’d never intended for him to have his own book when I started out writing The Bond That Ties Us. Now, I can’t imagine him not having one.

Two Reviews!!

Oh wow! I’ve had the most amazing Friday. I just received two reviews from Joyfully Reviewed.

The Bond That Consumes Us

Ms D’Abo has come up with a fantastic working group of people in a futuristic setting that is believable.  I enjoy how Ms. D’Abo writes characters that are believable and she definitely has a way with writing super sexy and erotic scenes.  The murder mystery that is intertwined along with the internal struggles Taber and Fallon face makes this book a winner.  I enjoyed The Bound that Consumes Us so much that I had to read it in one setting, no matter that it was long past my bedtime.

And, I’ve gotten a Recommened Read from Joyfully Reviewed for Primal Elements!

rr-pinkbutton

Primal Elements is sexy, gripping, and wholly delightful. Ben and Jenna are a classic case of seemingly opposite people attracting, only to find out they’re not very different at all.  What’s engaging about this story is that the energy between Ben and Jenna just comes off the page.  Jenna is prejudiced against Ben because of his actions years ago and Ben is too prideful to correct her misconceptions about him.  Nevertheless, the two are so physically drawn to one another that their desire overcomes their reservations and the resulting passion leads to their romantic realizations.

Thank you so much to Tanya and Shayna for the amazing reviews! HUGS!

Review – The Bond That Consumes Us

I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend! We had our first TRW meeting of the year, presented by the fantastic Claire Delacroix. It was a great opportunity to hear a lot of inside information on the publishing business, from a fantastic lady who really knows her stuff. My head was spinning with ideas when I was done, and I had a lot of time to plan out what I wanted to do next on my drive home.

I managed to get back into the writing swing of things as well. I made some headway with The Bond That Saves Us, and am really happy that I’ve finally worked out in my head where this plot is going. Now I just need the time to get it finished! :D

To start my week off on the right foot, I opened my Inbox to find the following review on The Bond That Consumes Us from eCataromance!

The mystery of the murders provided a fantastic backdrop for the romance. The end result will have you biting your nails until everything is resolved. Christine d’Abo’s Bond books are fantastic is more ways than one. She weaves in fantastic plots, give us realistic sympathetic characters that are easy to love and we get to visit with old friends from the first tales. The Bond That Consumes Us will leave us all wanting our very own mate like the ones Christine d’Abo creates so beautifully.

Thank you, Elise Lyn for the fantastic review! You can read it in its entirety Here!

How was everyone’s weekend? What major plans do you have for the week?

2008 – A Good Time

I can’t believe I’m sitting here, two days away from the start of 2009. So much has happened in the past twelve months, I can barely believe it.

I’ve had four releases from Ellora’s Cave. That in itself blows my mind. With the release next week of All Bottled Up from Samhain, that will see eight of my novels our there on virtual shelves. I was invited to join the fantastic ladies over at Deliciously Naughty Writers, who I am ever so grateful to for all their support.  And to end my year off right, The Bond That Consumes Us was nominated for a CAPA by The Romance Studio. This is the first time I’ve ever been nominated for anything, so to say I was happy, is a huge understatement.

I’ve made a lot of new friends, both personally and professionally. It was amazing to have a chance to meet most of you in person at the RWA conference in San Fransisco this July. While I was there, I had my first official in person pitch to an agent (it didn’t work out, but the experience was fantastic), and the opportunity to attend a lot of very useful craft and business sessions.

I’m excited to say that 2009 is going to be starting on the right foot for me. In my other, less exciting life, I’m starting a new position within my company. It will be a challenge, and I thrive on that. :D

All Bottled Up will be out January 6th in e-book format, and I just found out that it will be in print November 24, 2009! This will be my second print book for the year, the first one coming by April from Ellora’s Cave. I’m not sure of the title name yet, but I’ll let you know the second that I do.

Speaking of April, I’ll be attending my first even Romantic Times conference! I have to say, I’m beyond excited about this one. I’m even working on my costumes as we speak. :D I can’t wait to have the opportunity to hang out with everyone there. Please let me know if you will be going so we can try to meet.

Basically, I wanted to take this time to say thank you. Thank you to all the writers out there who I’ve connected with this past year. Your friendship and support has been amazing. Thank you to all the readers. It’s because of your support that I love what I do so very much. Thank you to my editors Bree and Laurie. You ladies are amazing, patient, and make me a far better writer. Thank you to my husband…for keeping me sane. Love you, hon.

Let’s keep on snoopy dancing in 2009!!

The Bond That Consumes Us!!!!!!

*throws confetti*

It’s out! It’s OUT!!

The Bond That Consumes Us, book three in my Eternal Bond series, is out today from Ellora’s Cave. I’m so excited about this release (yes, I know I say that about all my books). I’m not normally one to go back and read my books once I’ve written them, but I have with this story. I ador Taber as a character, and I love his interactions with other people in this universe. He meets his match with Fallon, a tough and sexy bartender, who teaches him there is more to life than duty and honor.

I’ll be back a bit later today with an excerpt! :D

Countdown – The Bond That Consumes Us

Holy cow! October is usually a busy month for me and my family, and this year hasn’t proved the exception. But when I got up this morning and realized that we are in the last week of the month, I freaked!

The Bond That Consumes Us is out on Friday!!!!

This is by far my most requested book, featuring my most requested character, I’ve ever written. I’d never originally intended Taber to be a main character. To be honest, I never intended on this being a series at all. But there was something about his personality that everyone seemed to connect with.

Now I have to confess that I’m nervous for this novel to be released. As a writer, when you have a character that people enjoy, it’s a lot to live up to when their story finally comes up. I hope you will enjoy it when you finally get to read it.

To celebrate the release of The Bond That Consumes Us, I thought I’d run a little contest. Answer the following questions:

1. What was the name of the couple in The Bond That Ties Us?
2. What book do I have coming out January 2009?
3. What’s my favourite colour?
4. What is the name of the series in which The Bond That Consumes Us is a part of?

(hint – all the answers can be found on my website)

Email me the answers at christine @ christinedabo. com by Thursday, October 29th, 5:00 pm EST. I’ll draw a name from the successful entries, and the winner will receive a free copy of The Bond That Consumes Us!

Good luck! :D

Holy Cow – It’s October!

You know what I got this week? Final line edits for The Bond That Consumes Us.

*looks at calendar*

OMG it comes out in 30 Days!!!!!

Yes, everyone. The character that has received the most requests for his own book, will finally have his day. Taber is on his way come Halloween, and I am SOOO excited about this story. I think of the series, this one was my favourite to write. I don’t know what it was about him, but I really click with his character.

And the cover…drool…

With that said, I’ve decided to work on the final book in the series this month. If I’m really focused (snort), I might get it done before NaNoWriMo starts. If not, I’ll keep going and get it finished. If I do, I’ll move on to book two in my urban paranormal series.

I’ve missed all my TV shows this week. I think I’ll take the weekend to get caught up on them. I’ve been more focused on getting my story done for the next edition of the magazine and working on plotting out Bond That Saves Us (yes, I know Amy, I’m shocked too), that TV hasn’t been a pressing concern this week.

How is everyone else making out?

New Sales And A Cover

First off, I have to say I’m very sad that the Patriots lost last night. They just didn’t play a good game, Tom was rushed with almost every pass, and Randy Moss wasn’t really in the game. *sigh*

On to better news, I sold two more books to Ellora’s Cave!! Book three of my Eternal Bonds series, The Bond That Consumes Us will be coming soon. This is Taber’s story for those of you who have been waiting for it. I’m super excited that it got picked up, and it’s by far my favourite of the books. There will be at least one more book coming from that series, but Sean’s story will have to wait for a bit.

The second book is tentitively titled Primal Elements. It’s a futuristic romance that takes place on Mars colony. Jenna and Ben are past lovers who are brought together through an online dating service, but are kept together due to a crisis. I’ll post an official blurb and excerpt later this week.

And finally, I received the cover for The Bond That Heals Us. Sara and Davin’s story will be here May 7th, 2008. This cover is PERFECT!! And yes, Davin has tattoos…
