Survived!

Holy cow! I’m just popping in to the old blog to let everyone know that I survived Romanticon! I do plan on doing up a post on all of the awesomeness, but I need to dig out from all the “stuff” that fell down while I was away.

But I’m back and alive and buzzing.

I also am thrilled to say that while I was driving back home from Ohio on Monday, Double Shot was officially released from Carina Press!! OMG I’m so excited about this book finally being out. Yes, it’s a short one from me, but the story continues in many ways with books two and three. I hope you enjoy them!

Romanticon!!

OMG I leave for Romanticon TOMORROW!!!  I am so freaking excited about going to the conference this year I’m about ready to burst.

So there was this thing I said…

You know, I like to think I can be amusing at time. Yes, yes, that typically means I’m not. Let me live in my bubble. :D

However, during one of my sessions at Romanicon I was describing how I typically work out my plots and said something along the lines of, “…and then they have sex.” This created a bit of a giggle in the crowd and became a bit of a running joke for the rest of the weekend.

On the last day (I think, it’s all a blur) I said I wanted to get t-shirts made up with the saying on it. What a lark!

Well, I did.

If you happen to want one, I’ve created a Cafe Press store with the shirt. They are simply (honestly, I’m not expecting anyone to want them), but I can do better if there is any interest.

So there. I’ve done what I said I would. And that is that.

Romanticon 2010 – Oh My…

You know, I like to have a good time.

Quiet JK and Amy. *shakes finger*

Romanticon 2010, hosted by Ellora’s Cave in Richmond Ohio…was the most amazing conference I have ever gone to. Just…wow. From first rate workshops (CSI for Writers, What TV gets wrong; Sex Toys for the Budget Minded; my own…) to great parties, there was something for everyone.

And the Cavemen. I thought I was above drooling, but yeah no. I’m so not.

I thought I’d share a few pictures with everyone just so you can see the fun for yourself!

The first night at the conference I got to meet so many people I’d been speaking to over email for years. Below I was hanging out with Delphine Dryden, Cara McKenna, Frances Stockton, and Samantha Wayland.

Very rarely do authors get to meet their cover artists. I was fortunate enough  to have the opportunity to spend time with Dar Albert, the cover artist who nailed No Quarter for me. Not only is she beautiful and talented, she’s one HELL of a dancer.

Did I mention the Cavemen?? They were always willing to give a girl an awesome photo op…

The 1920s themed party was so much fun. The chance to see everyone in costume was too good to pass up. Here I am with Cai Smith, one half of Marilu Mann.

This is me and Nikki Soarde. We live in the same town, but didn’t realize we were both going to be here! It’s always fun when Nikki and I get together.

There is nothing better than making new friends. Here I am with Delphine Dryden and my new buddy Shoshanna Evers! The three of us have a secret that I’ll be able to share with you all very soon.

One of the coolest things was to meet up with the other authors who are a part of the 1-800-DOM-help group! Here we all are. Oh and Commanding Acquisitions now has a release date. Keep your eyes open for in on November 10th, 2010.

I have posted a bunch more of the pictures over on my Facebook page. Please stop by and check it out! For now, I’ll leave you with this.

Romanticon!!

Bright and early tomorrow I’m off for Ohio and the Ellora’s Cave conference! I’m nowhere near ready yet, but I will be soon. If you are planning on attending, please make sure you hunt me down to say hello.

I will be presenting two workshops on Friday morning: GMC Crash Course and Five-layer Dip of Characterization. Saturday I will be at the author meet-up. Sunday afternoon will be the book signing.

For those of you unable to come, I will be posting pictures, videos and Twitter bits the whole weekend.

July Update

Holy cow, it’s been a while since I’ve had a chance to post on the blog. It’s been a crazy summer for me on a number of fronts.

My day job has seen me go off to Germany for a week. It was my first time in the country, but I can tell you it won’t be my last! I had an amazing time. The people were friendly and the weather was the hottest it had been all summer. I nearly died LOL!

I got to visit the cathedral in Aachen – we just don’t have places like this in Canada. The beauty of the church can’t be captured in this picture.

I was also able to see (from the outside because I had to catch a train) the cathedral in Koln. I would have killed for an hour to go exploring here.

I even got to stand on the highest point of the Netherlands! The Vaalserberg (“Mount Vaals”) is a hill 322.7 metres (1059 ft) in height.

It’s also where Germany, Netherlands and Belgium meet.

I have officially finished the sequel to No Quarter. Not only that, my wonderful, charming editor at Ellora’s Cave has already bought it! Letter of Marque will now officially be known as No Remedy! Contracts have been sent off and edits will start soon. :D This is Mace’s story and I love how her character has grown from book one. Book three is in the planning stage, and I’ll get to work on that in the fall.

While I was flying, I wasn’t able to sleep on the plane. This was a blessing and a curse, as it gave me lots of time to write. I was able to get a new novella started, which I finished yesterday. This will be part of a new multi-author series from Ellora’s Cave. I don’t want to give too much away at this point (we will have blogs and fun things to come), but my novella is done and ready to go off to my editor. Fingers crossed she likes it. :D

What’s on the burner for me now? Well, I have a submission ready to go off to Samhain in the next week. This is the beginning of a new paranormal romance series, and I’m crossing all appendages my new editor will like/want it. Any extra good luck anyone wants to send my way would be awesome. I’m also working on a quickie for EC’s Merry Kinkmas theme. I’ll be getting this one out the door in a week or two.

I’ll also be attending EC’s Romanticon in October. Not only will I be there for the fun and book signing, but I’m going to be presenting two workshops – one on GMC and the other on characterization. Hopefully, there will be more than just me in the room. :D

I hope everyone is having a fantastic summer so far. I’m still active on Twitter if you want to keep up with my daily musings. I will check back in for August, and then get back to a more frequent blogging schedule come fall.

Ellora’s Cave Fun!

Oh am I excited. Yes, yes, I know what you’re thinking, “Christine gets excited about an awful lot!”. But this one is really worth the tag.

Ellora’s Cave is having their second annual Romanticon this October and I’m going to be attending!!! This is a chance for Ellora’s Cave readers and authors to hang out and have tons of fun. There are games, costumes and the male models will be in attendance.

You can register and check out who will be going at the link here.

I know I’m going to be going fan girl on a bunch of the authors who are attending. Please let me know if anyone is planning on coming and we can arrange a meet up.
