NaNo Day Four

I have to say, day four was a hard one for me. I’ve been feeling under the weather for a few days now, and as a result my creativity has been sapped. That said, I managed to get 1326 words written, getting me to 8057 total so far.

I didn’t get up early to write (my daughter is sick too and had crawled in bed with me), so I’ll have to try and get a bunch done tonight once we get home from Brownies. I’d do some on my lunch hour, but I have a meeting. :(

Need NaNo Friends!

Okay everyone, I’ve finally been able to get onto the NaNoWriMo website to get my stats updated. But I’ve noticed I’m seriously lacking in friends! Someone needs to take pity on my and add me. I need the extra motivation to see how well you are all doing.

So log in to the NaNoWriMo sight and add Christine99 as your buddy!

Don’t make me beg…it’s really not pretty…

NaNo Day Three…ouch!

So day three for me is just about done. I’ve only managed about 500 words on my NaNo book. Firstly, I had to get my magazine story in to the editor today. That was 1,600 words. Then I had my newsletter to go, final line edits to finish, and a blurb to proof. Really, I had a very productive day, AND managed to get a bit written on my book.

I’m really quite pleased.

My husband is off to Island tomorrow, so I’ll have six days to get some major writing done. Of course, I’ve been sick today with the flu, and that hasn’t helped my drive. Please send positive vibes my way so I’m not too ill.

NaNo Day Two Report

So I totally forgot to give you all an update yesterday about NaNo day 2. That’s because I was so busy writing! So far I’m up to 6200 words on The Bond That Saves Us. That’s about a chapter and a bit in, and so far it’s going well.

It usually takes me about three chapters of writing before I hit my stride with any story, get the plot going, get the hero and heroine together…sex…the usual. I’ve figured out the basics of the main plot, and have my character’s flaws and internal goals just about crystalized in my head. That’s good for me. :D

I haven’t done any writing yet for day three, but I plan on jumping in tonight after supper. I’ll be happy if I met my minimum of 1k tonight, as hubby is leaving for Island tomorrow.

Yes, Island…

So I’ll see what I can get done before I spend time with him. The only positive thing about him going away (besides getting some uber cool pictures when he gets home), will be the opportunity to write every night until I can’t see straight.

How are you making out with NaNo? Are you doing it?

NaNoWriMo – Day One

Man, I didn’t think I was going to make it today. Not only did I have to take the kids to swimming, clean the house, and get groceries, I had company over for supper. Despite all that, I managed to get 3101 words written today for NaNo. I’m thrilled to say the least, but now I’m completely fried!

I’ll be back tomorrow to give you all a more complete update. :D

End Of NaNo…Now what?

This picture makes me giggle. :D

I can’t believe today is December 1st. I’m shocked in a way, like a university student coming off of a weekend bender. I barely know who or where I am and what I should be doing. I’ve noticed I do in fact have a family and that they are somewhat pleased to see me.

I also apparently have most of a book done. I have one chapter left to write, which I’m about to work on after I post. I’m really happy with Taber and Fallon and I thought I’d share a snippet of what I wrote while I was neglecting you all. This is an unedited first draft, so be gentle.

“Oh lord, call me Fallon. I’m a bartender, not an officer. I’d be more than happy to show you and Mr. Taber where I found Nate.

She was about to turn when the alien spoke.

“It’s just Taber.”

She’d done her best to try and ignore the seven foot tall giant standing in front of her. And until he’d spoken, she might have been able to manage it, pretending he was nothing more than a moving wall. But there was something about his voice, the way he said his name that made her really look at him.

He was by far the most attractive man she’d ever seen. His eyes were dark blue, so dark they almost looked black if it weren’t for the crystal blue flecks near the center. They were eyes that showed intelligence, sadness and strength. His black hair was cut short along the sides of his head, with the top a bit longer. She could tell by the way he stood, wide and confident, that he was military.

His muscular, wide shoulders were barely contained in his midnight blue tunic. The belt around his waist that held his tunic in place would have wrapped around hers three or four times. And his legs were clad in snug fitting pants. She assumed it gave him free and easy movement for when he had to chase down the bad guys. It also gave her an amazing view of the massive muscles of his thighs.

What would it be like to have a man like that in her bed?

Somehow Fallon brought her eyes back up to his face and managed to smile. It took a lot to make her blush, but for a moment she thought she might be as red as Tony. The thoughts of what he could do to her body with his large hands and wide, full lips made her shiver. When she tried to speak again, nothing wanted to come out. Her heart was starting to increase in rhythm and there was sudden stirring in her lower belly. He seemed to notice her dilemma and cocked a single eyebrow at her in question.

“We found his body back here,” Lance piped up and made his way over to the back supply room.

Thank you, Lance.

Fallon followed quickly behind her co-worker, trying desperately to ignore her long forgotten sex drive. Lord, she was pathetic if it only took the thought of a large cock to get her tongue tied.

Fast Friday

Hello my friends. I promise I will be a better blogger and blog friend soon. Taber’s story should be done this weekend! NaNo has been fantastic and I’ve managed to write  62k in the past month and have been really excited about the end result. That said, it has taken a lot out of me in more ways than I can count. So once I get Taber done I’m taking a short break from writing so I can concentrate on other things, like all of you!

I have company visiting this weekend and then I’m going to a conference on Monday and Tuesday for my day job. I’m looking forward to the change of pace. What are you up to?

Sleep In

Hello everyone! I’m taking it easy this morning and let myself sleep in a bit later than normal. I’m about to hit my writing for the day and am getting anxious to finish up Taber’s story. I really want to go back and re-read what I have down on paper LOL! That’s the one problem with NaNo – no time to look back.

Today I’m posting over at The Romance Studio’s blog about Chasing Phoenix and secret identities. I’d love for you to stop over and tell me what you think of them!

And I also wanted to have a quick shout out for my friend Red Garnier’s new book The Sheeman from Loose ID. This book sounds so hot, I can’t wait to get my little fingers on it. :D

NaNoWriMo Winner!!

I managed to somehow drag my tired butt out of bed this morning (stayed up late to watch a nail biter Patriots game), and managed to get the last 1,500 words I needed to cross the 50,000 word mark for NaNo!! I was doing the happy dance all alone on my couch. :D

That means that The Bond That Consumes Us is sitting at 56,787 words and I’m getting close to the end of my first draft. My goal is to cross the 60k mark by the end of the week and then go back and try to plug up all the holes I’m sure are there. I’d love to have this story sitting at around 70k.

I’ve also managed to get my edits for Wizard’s Thief out the door and need to finish up my edits for The Bond That Heals Us. I know there are a lot of people out there anxious to read Sara’s story. :D

How was your weekend?

Caterday
