Ellora’s Cave at Coffee Time Romance

My very good (and slightly insane) friend Amy Ruttan, asked me to participate over at the June Ellora’s Cave spotlight at Coffee Time Romance.

Of course I said yes!

If you are a fan of EC and all her authors, then you need to come over and check out the fun. There are so many people participating, you can’t even shake a stick at them!

Amy has posted excerpts from participating authors, and each of us has our own section where we will be posting more excerpts and chatting. In addition, I’ll be giving away a few free books to some lucky commenters. Come over and check out my thread.

Make sure to visit the other authors too and help spread the word.

Happy Canada Day!!

Happy Canada Day! There is something fantastic about having a day off in the middle of the week. Not only did I get to listenn to the new radio play Torchwood: Asylum on BBC4 Radio, but I’ll be heading out for some festivities soon. When we get home there will be a BBQ and wine – good times.

And for your listening entertainment, this little video was Twittered by Leah Braemel. Silly thing has been stuck in my head for DAYS now. Enjoy!

Super Crazy Weekend!!!

What a day…and it’s only 6:30 am so far! I can’t believe it, but today is my youngest daughter’s eighth birthday. Of course, she was so excited she got up at 6:15 am and came down to see me. Right now hubby is making her a special breakfast. This afternoon we are taking her and seven other kids to a children’s game/party centre. It’s kind of like Chuck E Cheese, but not commercial…and really big indoor slides. I can’t wait!

As most of you know, tomorrow is Father’s day. That means it will be my turn to make breakfast and treat the man. We are going to a BBQ with some friends, which will be a riot. Hubby deserves to be pampered, so I’ll probably go get him a nice steak. :D

Monday is out wedding anniversary. We’ve been together for twenty years, but have been married for thirteen. We met when I was fourteen, got engaged when I was eighteen and married at twenty-one. Been an awesome time ever since.

Speaking of wedding invitations…over at Twitter, a posting came up for the most awesome wedding invitation ever!!! You have to check this out hehehe.

I’ll be around here and there over the next few days, but not very much. I hope you all have a fantastic few days.

I’m still sick but…

I’m almost better. A friend sent me this video to help the healing process. Yes, I starting singing along. Here is the blurb to go along with it…

This video was made in the Antwerp, Belgium Central (Train) Station on March 23, 2009, with no warning to the passengers passing through the station. At 8:00 am a recording of Julie Andrews singing ‘Do, Re, Mi’ begins to play on the public address system. As the bemused passengers watch in amazement, some 200 dancers begin to appear from the crowd and station entrances. They created this amazing stunt with just two rehearsals!

Today’s Lesson…

Happy Easter Everyone!

Stand By Me

It’s Friday and I’m feeling mellow…

Happy weekend!

Shopping and Spending and Vacations…Oh My!

I’m on vacation! This is a wonderful feeling for me, as I’m one of these high strung, bouncy, hyper people. When I go on vacation, it’s usually for stress relief, but not this time. My parents are up visiting, and we are having a wonderful time.

One of the things my mum and I do when we get together is home decorating. I’m usually so busy in my daily life, that I don’t have time to worry about things like pictures on the walls. But when she’s up, I tend to go out and have fun buying things for my house. Today we are going drape shopping. Who knew I would get excited about drapes!

I’m also taking a short break from my writing while they are here. Next week I’m going to be diving head first into a new project, so  I think I’ve earned a small reprieve. It’s giving me a chance to mull things over in my head. :D

How is everyone else making out? I hope you are all well. :D

I have a girl crush on Pink

So one of my Christmas presents this year from my daughters was Pink’s new CD Funhouse. I SQUEED! I love Pink. Love everything about this woman, to be honest.

She’s beautiful, without looking manufactured. Honestly, she eats real food from the look of her. Healthy, not a twig.  She’s true to herself and what she wants out of life. And her music kicks ass.

I love the messages in her songs, and I would play them for my girls if I could. But there’s swearing, and while I have no problem with it, I don’t want my seven year old to be the one teaching all her friends the “f word”.

So I was singing my little heart out this morning in the car going to work. I think everyone thought I was insane at the red lights. I really get into my music when I’m into it (ask Amy). If you like music with a bit of a message, a good beat, and a lot of fun, grab Funhouse.

You can check out Pink’s site here.

Writing update: I crossed the 50k word mark last night on The Bond That Saves Us. I’m in line to get this first draft done in a week and a half. :)

OMG This is freaking BRILLIANT!!!

I don’t know how many of you used to read the fantastic Choose Your Own Adventure books when you were a kid, but I LOVED them. Well, some brilliant people out there created Choose Your Own Adventure YouTube videos!!!

You have to watch the movie short, then make a decision based on what has happened. LOL!!!

You have to do this – I’m in LOVE!
