Ten For Ten Plus One – KB Alan

One of the things I personally love about Ellora’s Cave, is the wide array of authors and stories they have available to readers. KB Alan brings us worlds of hot paranormals and even hotter BDSM. One lucky commenter will receive an e-copy of her new book Bound By Sunlight, which just released today! Thanks to KB for joining me !

I discovered Ellora’s Cave after checking out Lora Leigh’s website and finding something called ebooks. It took me forever to pick my first book, figure out formats and how I was going to read it, etc, but I was back for more about three hours later, and now my ebook library is closing in on 1000.

About the time that I memorized my credit card number, I decided maybe I needed to cut back on my reading, just a bit 0_0 . I’d gotten a new laptop during the Black Friday sales, so during my Christmas vacation, I decided to start writing down some of the stories in my head, which had taken a certain spicy slant with my new reading habits. My plan worked out very well, a little too well, actually, as I am now painfully behind on my TBR pile, but my third Ellora’s Cave book, Bound by Sunlight, releases today!

Blurb for Bound by Sunlight:

Kyriana Price has spent nearly a year trapped at her evil day job. And she does mean evil. Her boss is a mage bent on power and lets nothing stand in the way of his quest to gain more of it. When she sees Connul Graysn wielding a flogger at a BDSM club, she formulates an escape plan that will require his considerable skills—as a mage and as a Dom. Going to another mage for help might not be the best plan, but it’s the only one she’s got, and at this point, she’s willing to try just about anything.

The last thing Connul expects when he finds an intruder in his house is that he’ll soon have her chained in his bedroom, her lovely body marked by his paddle. But she’s begging for his help—how can a gentleman refuse? As they learn to trust each other, he begins to realize that the only thing he’s not willing to do for her is let her go.

  • That’s awesome. Congratulations on your release!!

My own TBR pile gets dangerously high too every time I’m working on a WIP (unless I’ve got writer’s block, then I’m frantically searching for new reads in order to keep procrastinating :)

But I do think it’s important for writers to also keep reading other people’s work. We need to see what’s out there, what other good writers are doing. I think it’s inspirational and motivates us (or at least it does for me)

  • Congrats on your latest release. I’m more than happy to share my first EC release date with you.
And as for the TBR pile…well yeah, sadly mine’s very neglected now that Mr. Muse has taken over.

  • I discovered EC through Lora Leigh too :) My library is a modest 200 books but I still pick up print books if given the choice. My new sony reader is changing my mind quickly however. Congrats on the new release, the book sound very interesting.

  • Ooh, happy release day, KB! Hope you get to celebrate by doing a little reading of your own ;) Thanks for writing stories that add to MY TBR! ;)

  • Is the quest for power inherently evil or just the methods used?

I was researching evil earlier this year in a effort to understand Classroom Management. You see, teaching is not about exposing young minds to new ideas, teaching is about controling the behaviors and thoughts of others in order to coerce opposing forces into doing your desires. You see, students know that the teacher bares sole responsibility for what information is stored and used in their brains. But they do not want to learn, they want to text message under their desks. Thus the battle wages on. Anthropologist normally agree that forcing one’s will upon an unwilling subject generally falls under the classic definition of “evil” in Western Cultures. Unfortunately, Googling “how to be evil” only gets you links to Satanism, not useful techniques on subjectagtion and subversion. Apparently, that’s saved for Algebra class. So, if teachers are paid to fit the classic definition of “evil”, is being “evil” a bad thing?

BTW, I found EC by looking for Lora Leigh’s early works, too. It’s a great format. My husband has no idea the size of my collection. ;) Thanks for getting down to writing. :)

  • Congratulations, KB! Please don’t enter me– I already have this book, and I’d really like a Connul of my own, please ;) .

Lora Leigh is like the pied piper of ebooks. My story is like yours, and I see Rasha’s is, too :)

    Happy release day!

  • I think it’s so interesting how Lora Leigh has swept us all into the magic of ebooks. I adore my Reader, though you’ve still got me beat, KB, I only have about 750 ebooks right now.

Happy Release Day, the excerpt was so fun, I can’t wait to read your story.

  • Wow! It sounds great. Can’t wait to read it!

  • I love ebooks because they are very convenient to carry around. My TBR pile continues to grow at a pace that far out paces what I can read but I’m content with it so that’s really all that matters. I too discovered Ellora’s Cave thru Lora Leigh- first thru a print book and then the ebooks. Love the cover to your new release and the blurb!

  • The book looks absolutly great! Congrats on the realese with every new blog I increase my tbb and tbr pile!

  • Thanks everyone! And Virginia, *his* quest is evil, because *he* is evil. Though I would love to have a debate sometime on how likely it is that a benign quest for power would remain so through continued success. :D

Bella, I heart you, and if you find him, I’ve got first dibs!

JK, you are so right, though my reading rate has slowed dramatically, it’s still necessary. And Fedora, yes, I have Rhian’s release loaded up on my iphone, ready for a nice, relaxing evening, if I can convince myself to turn off the computer!

Be careful, Rasha, it’s dangerous. I hardly every buy paperback’s anymore, the convenience of having them in my purse at all times is just too much. Plus, I never have to give them away, they can pile up on my hard drive and I never trip over them. :p

Wow, I can’t believe all of the Lora Leigh intros, I wonder if she has any idea?

Thanks, again, everyone, it’s been a great day for me :D

  • Sounds like a book I would like. Can’t wait to read it!

  • Congrats on the release! Your Perfect Formation is one of my favorite and most read stories….EVER. I’m glad you’re turning out more goodness. Keep it up.

  • :o You have my book on your iphone?!
I swear, I’ll never get used to hearing that. lol
Hope you managed some quiet time for reading. I’ve got some time set aside tonight to relax with a book. Guess who’s book I’ve got downloaded ready to read. *grin*

  • Congratulations on the new release!
