New Reviews – The Bond That Saves Us

The most humbling thing in the world for me is when I get notified of a review for one of my books. The fact that someone took the time to read my stories, but then goes on to say something (good or bad) about it really is mind blowing to me.

I’ve recently received a few reviews for The Bond That Saves Us, and I wanted to share them. :)

Tanya from Joyfully Reviewed honored me by giving The Bond That Saves Us a Recommended Read.

I have long waited for Sean to find peace. I have loved his character from the first in this series. The Bond That Saves Us did not let me down as Sean has found his match in Captain Amy. I was pulled in from the start of The Bond That Saves Us and while it is the fourth in a series it could easily be a standalone story, though you would miss three other wonderful tales. I Joyfully Recommend The Bond That Saves Us as it is a fast paced and interesting read.

JR-RR-2

To follow that, I just heard that the fantastic Elise Lyn over at Sensual e-Cataromance gave me 4 out of 5 stars!

The Bond series was exciting and unique with each story giving us something different. Sean was plagued with feelings of guilt from the past while Amy was determined to enter a race even with danger lurking everywhere. The two together were dynamite but their pasts blinded them to what they could have. Typical of the Bond series, The Bond That Saves Us has realistic characters, an excellent plot and some heat to warm us up.

Thank you so much ladies for your kind words, and thank you to all the readers out there who kept me going with this series. I hope to have some new works out for you soon.

Hacked…

Hello everyone. I wanted to give you a heads up that it appears my blog has been hacked on the back end. I’m working to fix it now, but I wanted to let everyone know in case you see some odd things coming my way.

Will be fixed soon. :)

UPDATE: investigation is still underway but we got a serious lead ;-)

Support Breast Cancer Cure – Buy a Bear!

I’m not normally one to come out on my site and support certain causes. Not because I don’t believe in them, but simply because there are so many good ones, I hate to choose. That said, sometimes people are brilliant in how they choose to help support the ones which are dear to their hearts.

One such person is Lisa. I found her call for support on a site and I wanted to put it out here as well. Help her with her march to find a breast cancer cure.

Here are a few words from her directly:

Hey guys!

My name is Lisa and every year I walk in The Avon Walk for Breast Cancer… a 2-day, 39.3 mile walk to raise money and awareness to fight breast cancer.

One of the ways I raise money is to collect celebrity autographs on little cards that I attach to breast cancer bears and auction off. Whenever possible, there is also a picture of the celebrity with a bear.

Right now, I’ve got a big batch of auctions live — including bears with autographs and photos of John Barrowman, Gareth David-Lloyd and James Marsters.

You can check out all my live auctions here: http://www.lisawalks.com/ptb2009.htm

I really appreciate your interest and support! If you can help spread the word in any way, I’d appreciate that, too!! :)

Thanks!!

I know which bear I’m bidding on!

It’s TV Time!

There is nothing better than that rush of excitement before the start of a new TV season. Ever since I was a kid, I adored September and the new influx of shows. Back then, you didn’t get a lot of cliffhangers, not like today. Still, it was like seeing my old school friends after the summer break. All my favourite character back to spend time with me.

I’ve been let down a few times by the return of a show. Some have taken turns that I didn’t like, that I wish they hadn’t, or were emotionally painful to watch. That’s good writing and good acting. And I love it!

Anyone who has followed my blog for any length of time knows that I’m passionate about my programs. I will talk your ear off about them and I make no apologies about it. This year will be no exception. :D

This season, I’m ready to watch my old friends again. I don’t have as much time for TV as I did when I was younger, but none the less I’m ready and committed to my shows!

So what will I be watching this year…

Supernatural

Lucifer is coming! Lucifer is coming! Starting its fifth season, I have to admit I came to this show late. Starting with the DVDs last fall, I quickly got caught up and hooked on the dark adventures of Dean and Sam.

The writing is amazing on this show. When they start down a path, they are not afraid to see things through to the gory conclusion (end of season three anyone??), while being true to the characters. I can’t wait to see what is in store for the boys next.

Fringe

I’ll be honest here, I watch this show for the relationship between Walter and Peter. What a brilliant set of characters, and amazingly acted as well. It’s nice to see the break from the norm – the crazy guy, while smart, isn’t always nice. The brash younger son, doesn’t always have the heart of gold mentality to him. People make mistakes as they try to navigate this twisted world where no one is what they seem.

Dexter

If you haven’t watched this show yet…don’t talk to me until you do. Seriously. Did I ever think in a million years I’d be cheering for a serial killer…no. Do I? Hell yes! The book will rock your world too.

Doctor Who

Okay, this one will be painful for me. David Tennant, my favourite Doctor since Tom Baker, is leaving the role after four years. The final two movies are airing before Christmas, and then Matt Smith will be taking over the role. This show is a link back to my childhood and I will forever adore it no matter who is flying the TARDIS. On a side note, I’m bouncing to see what Steven Moffatt will do with the show–brilliant writer that he is, this will prove to be a fun ride.

House

We left him in a bad place. I can’t wait to see if things are going to get worse before they get better. I hope they do, for no other reason that to see the fantastic Hugh Laurie play it up.

Edit: Dollhouse

How could I forget this show! It was a bit slow to start, but I was happy with the end of season one. I’ll be waiting to see what happens with Alpha.

Shows I want to see but haven’t yet

Flashpoint - Hubby is hooked on this. I need to get caught up
Leverage - Christian Kane is reason enough for me to watch it.
NCIS LA – Chis O’Donnel is reason enough for me to watch it. (pattern)

Shows I won’t be watching this year

Torchwood - After the heartache of season three, and the rumors that season 4 will be “Gwenwood”, I have no desire to watch further. They killed off my love of the show in more ways than one.

Criminal Minds – It was great…then it lost me. Not sure what happened there.

Whew. So that’s what’s on my plate. What are some of the shows you are looking forward to this year?

Happy Labour Day!

I wanted to pop in and wish everyone a wonderful Labour Day. I’ve been very busy this weekend. Between painting, cleaning and writing, I’m ready for a vacation LOL!

Time for a rest. :)

First Review – The Bond That Saves Us

Hello everyone!

Well, I’m sorry for the absence recently. Things are crazy as always in the household, but moving along nicely. I’ve recently finished edits on a book that I’ll be sending over to my Samhain editor (cross fingers that she likes it), and am at the halfway mark on a new erotic futuristic. The few people who have read the chapters I’ve done so far really like it. I’m going to push to have it finished and off to my EC editor by the end of the month.

Speaking of EC…

I just received my first review for The Bond That Saves Us!! It received 4.5 / 5 Nymphs from Literary Nymphs Reviews.

*does a snoopy dance*

Here’s a small peek…

The sexual tension between Amy and Sean starts off hot and only gets hotter, as these two lovers spend more time together, until their desire is molten hot and almost out of control. Both are afraid of admitting their need for the other, and the author does a wonderful job describing their unease, fear and confusion. Ms. d’Abo’s integration of old and new characters…friends was seamless, lending the story a sense of depth, caring and family.

You can check out the entire review here.

And on a side note. There was a problem with the contact form on my website. It’s been fixed by my wonderful web guy, so feel free to email me any questions or comments you may have. :)
