Ouch…that was life giving me a smack again.
So, NaNo was going okay, then I fell on my face toward the end of last week. I got my act together on Sunday and managed just over 6,500 words that day…and paid the price on Monday. I have a pinched nerve in my arm that can flare up sometimes. It did on Monday and I wasn’t able to write.
Then I ran into one of the ergonomic girls in the lunchroom Tuesday afternoon. All this time, I thought I was having problems with my writs. After a quick chat, she told me that it sounded like the issue was around my elbow, NOT my wrist. She told me what to do and PRESTO!! I’m feeling so much better today.
So NaNo is back on!
I managed to get 2k written tonight, which brings my word count for The Bond That Saves Us to just a smidge over 31,000 words. I may not clear the 50k by the end of the 30th, but I’m going to try.
Hey, that sounds pretty good to me. I have a problem with my arm/elbow now and then as well. It’s no fun!!
You did 6500 in a day? Woot!
And interesting on the elbow thing because I get that from time to time. So what did she tell you to do? Spill the deets, woman.
Go, Christine!!! Yes, please do share about the elbow thing. I’ve started sleeping with braces on both my wrists at night. If there’s anything else I can possibly do, I’d love to hear about it.
Please share the elbow thing. And also, please share how you manage to get so much written when you have a full time job and are a mommy and everything else you do. I am supposed to be Sweatin with Sven, but I can’t seem to find five minutes to think let alone write. And by the time I do have time I’m exhausted because I haven’t slept in days. Please, tell me your secret.
BTW, what have you done with Heaven’s Sight? I hope you sent it out, it’s good. I think it could be big.
Well for everyone who has a sore arm/wrist/elbow, here is what she told me. Take anti-inflammatories (Advil), and hold ice on the elbow for 15 mins. Wait about 20 mins after that, and put some heat on it. Then get an elbow brace. Make sure it’s snug but not too tight.
Congratulations on completing NaNo Joely!!!!
Michelle, I sent it off to the agent who requested it at Nationals. She asked to see the full, so now I’m waiting. Fingers crossed!
6500?????
*falling on knees in awe*
Ouch! I wondered what happened to you. Hope its feeling better soon.
