*throws confetti*
It’s out! It’s OUT!!
The Bond That Consumes Us, book three in my Eternal Bond series, is out today from Ellora’s Cave. I’m so excited about this release (yes, I know I say that about all my books). I’m not normally one to go back and read my books once I’ve written them, but I have with this story. I ador Taber as a character, and I love his interactions with other people in this universe. He meets his match with Fallon, a tough and sexy bartender, who teaches him there is more to life than duty and honor.
I’ll be back a bit later today with an excerpt!

Holy cow! October is usually a busy month for me and my family, and this year hasn’t proved the exception. But when I got up this morning and realized that we are in the last week of the month, I freaked!
The Bond That Consumes Us is out on Friday!!!!
This is by far my most requested book, featuring my most requested character, I’ve ever written. I’d never originally intended Taber to be a main character. To be honest, I never intended on this being a series at all. But there was something about his personality that everyone seemed to connect with.
Now I have to confess that I’m nervous for this novel to be released. As a writer, when you have a character that people enjoy, it’s a lot to live up to when their story finally comes up. I hope you will enjoy it when you finally get to read it.
To celebrate the release of The Bond That Consumes Us, I thought I’d run a little contest. Answer the following questions:
1. What was the name of the couple in The Bond That Ties Us?
2. What book do I have coming out January 2009?
3. What’s my favourite colour?
4. What is the name of the series in which The Bond That Consumes Us is a part of?
(hint - all the answers can be found on my website)
Email me the answers at christine @ christinedabo. com by Thursday, October 29th, 5:00 pm EST. I’ll draw a name from the successful entries, and the winner will receive a free copy of The Bond That Consumes Us!
Good luck!
I can’t believe October is almost done! That means that NaNoWriMo is just around the corner. Yes, I’m going to be doing it again this year, and yes, I’m going to drive you all nuts with my OCD posts on how many words I’ve accomplished.
I’m still dithering between which book I’m going to work on. I’m really keen to get The Bond That Saves Us done. That has been my plan for a while now. However, I’m starting to make some really good headway with book two of my urban paranormal series. I hate to stop working on it, but in the same regard I really want to get to Sean’s story.
*sigh* I’m such a girl some days.
Well, like ordering at a restaurant, it will be a surprise for everyone (myself included) as to which one I do. LOL!
Tonight, I’m going to try and get some writing done. I’ve been working a lot on outlining, but not so much on the actual word count. Amy, I think it might be time for another write in!
Hello everyone! Well, my week started off with a bang, and I’ve been running ever since. Today is my oldest daughter’s birthday (I’m so not old enough to have a nine year old), and we’ll be celebrating tonight.
I’ve posted over at Six Degrees of Sexy today, talking about the trend of bad characters becoming good in books and TV shows. I’d love to hear what you think about it.
My monthly TRW meeting is this weekend, and I have to say I’m super excited. We have a full day workshop planned with the amazing Eloisa James. Not only will she be talking about world building in your writing, but she’ll discuss how to construct a good series. As I’m in the middle of writing an interconnected series, I have to say I’m really excited about this last part.
So I’ll be in Toronto all day, and most likely won’t make it home until quite late. On Sunday, I have my oldest daughter’s birthday party. Thankfully, it’s only two hours long, but we are doing crafts…
Yes, I do this to myself.
I’m a bit behind in my writing. My chapter for Massive Gamer magazine is past due. The editor is after me…and since he’s my husband, that’s not a good thing. So tonight I have to finish writing, tomorrow I learn, and Sunday I go insane.
Fun weekend!
What do you have planned?
Okay, I’m the first to admit I’m pretty forgiving when it comes to the TV shows I watch. I’ll let them get away with just about anything as long as:
1. The characters are interesting and have a solid reason for acting a particular way, or doing a particular thing
or
2. The plots are well written and keep me guessing, despite flawed characters.
I think being a writer has ruined certain shows for me, or at the very least, has made me impatient when it comes to the absence of the above two points. Hence why I’ve officially given up on Heroes.
I mean…COME ON!! I loved this show first season. Adored it! Now, I’m so annoyed with it, the thought of spending an hour in front of the TV isn’t justifiable. They’ve changed the characters, INCONSISTENTLY! They have so many plot threads, and so many loose ones from last season, that nothing makes sense. I can’t care about a character that I won’t get to see for more than a few minutes each episode, and have them change radically.
/rant over
As a writer, this is something that I try really hard not to do. I love a good complex plot. I try to write them. I may not be the most brilliant author out there, but I try to at the very least be consistent.
So I’m taking a lesson from Heroes as I’m working on book two of my urban paranormal series. I’m keeping track of all the plot points I started in book one. I’ll make sure they are all resolved by the end of book six. This is my promise to you!
Now I just have to sell them…
Hello everyone! It’s Tuesday, which means I’m posting over at Six Degrees of Sexy today. I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about characters and the types of clothing we put them in. Come on over and let me know what you think!
I wanted to have a special shout out to all my fellow Canadians, and wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving! We had our turkey and pie yesterday with some friends…and oh my was it yummy. Of course today I’m stuffed.
Now I’m off to finish my laundry and get caught up on some things I’d been putting off. Oh and plotting!

Oh I’m just bouncing!! I am absolutely THRILLED to show you my brand new cover for All Bottled Up!!
Isn’t it gorgeous.
I also found out that I’ve made it to the Samhain Coming Soon pages already. I’ve been giggling ever since Leah told me.
I wrote this book for NaNoWriMo in 2006, and it really was a labor of love. Here’s the blurb!
Call center worker Viola White stumbles across a genie in a bottle on a trip to Mexico, giving her wildest dreams a chance to come true. But when she wishes to be taught how to seduce her boss, she doesn’t count on falling in love with her teacher—a three-thousand-year-old genie.
Jerod is tired of serving up the frivolous wishes of his masters. It’s not until he meets Viola that he is tempted to try and make a life for himself. With time running out, Jerod must convince Viola to forget her infatuation with her boss, and see that he’s the right genie for the job of loving her.
All Bottled Up will be releasing January 6th, 2009 from Samhain.
Good morning, my friends! I’ve posted some ramblings over at Six Degrees of Sexy this morning. Can you tell I’ve had two double espressos?
