All By Myself…

I think it’s pretty clear to anyone who knows me that I’m a hopeless romantic. My husband is going out of town again for a few days and I have to say, it’s depressing. The only good news is that it forces me to get some writing done.

So tonight I’m going to sit down with a glass of wine and get cracking on one of my WIPs, and see what I can manage. I’m still flip-flopping between working on The Bond That Saves Us and Heaven’s Fire (book two of my urban paranormal). I have a feeling Sean might win out…

Either way, I need to get my head back in the game. It’s been a long spell for me since I’ve sat down and had a proper writing session. With my headache finally gone, I think I might be able to get started tonight.

Everyone…say a prayer to the writing gods for me.

Done!

*runs a victory lap*

First round of edits for All Bottled Up and done and sent off. I’m so pleased with the changes, and how they help clean up my character’s motivation. I’m glad I was able to finish this up, because I was hit with a pretty nasty migraine this weekend. Really has knocked the stuffing out of me the past few days.

On the TV front, tonight Heroes is on. I’m going to give this show about a month and then we’ll have to see if I’ll keep watching. House and NCIS on the other hand were excellent. I haven’t watched CSI yet, but I have it recorded, so I’ll get to it this week.

I need to get going again with my writing. I haven’t worked on a new project seriously in a while. NaNoWriMo is coming up, and I’ve always had really good luck doing that. I’m going to spend October getting back into the groove, then hit the pavement hard in November.

How is everyone else doing this week so far?

Editing Cave

I’m peeking my head out of the editing cave to say hello. I had a long but productive weekend reviewing and cleaning up my manuscript for All Bottled Up. The good news is that I’m almost done! It’s funny how one or two little changes can have such an impact on a story. Thankfully, they are for the better and are making the story snappier….I hope….

I finally got around to watching the season priemier of House this weekend. The last episode last season broke my heart, and this one didn’t do much to mend it. God I love this show! I’m anxious for Tuesday to come now so I can see how House is going to get out (or further in) to this mess. This week also has most of my other shows starting up. I won’t get to see most of them, but this season I’m prepared! I have a PVR (is that right??) to record shows, so I won’t have to miss any. That means I can have my cake (TV shows) and eat it too (get writing done).

*does a snoopy dance*

So what shows are you looking forward to this week? Any??

Friday!!

So yesterday was a bit stressful in my world. Nothing major, just the EDJ getting the better of me. HOWEVER!! I got my series two DVDs of Torchwood yesterday. Oh yes, I did a happy dance at the mailbox let me tell you. So hubby and I have started watching them over at series one, and will continue through to the end. :D

On the writing front, I’m just about done my first round of edits for All Bottled Up. I’m really excited about this book, and I can’t wait for everyone to read it! January 2009 can’t come fast enough.

This weekend I need to clean my house. Things are starting to have conversations with me as I walk past…and they’re not my children. So the dirt my go!

What are you up to this weekend?

Six Degrees of Sexy!

Yes, it must be Tuesday! I’m posting over at Six Degrees of Sexy today, talking about fall. I’ve love for you to pop over and say hello! :D

Love Me Dead

Okay my new best friend Ann just sent me this video and I’m completely in love with the song!

Oh and here’s their MySpace page if you’re interested…

First Review for Primal Elements!

It’s over! The week from hell is done and a new one is yet to begin…the week, hopefully not the hell part. :D

I’m in the process of editing All Bottled Up, which will be coming out from Samhain this January. I forgot how much I loved these characters and this story, but it’s funny to see how much my writing has changed since I initially wrote this. So I’ll be busy working away on this making it sparkle for you!

And I got my first review for Primal Elements! I was so excited when I saw this one from Manic Readers, I think I giggled out loud.

Primal Elements by Christine D’Abo lives up to its name by boiling things down to an elemental level, positive and negative, good and evil, love and hate. All these things must have their opposite to exist and so goes the plot of this book. The hero and heroine are completely different, but joined on a level that exceeds anything they understand. I really enjoyed the interaction between the main characters and their friends as well as how they learned to adjust to each other. A funny, entertaining and sarcastic book, Ms. D’Abo has a bright future in fiction ahead if this is anything to go by.

Thank you so much for this!

I didn’t get any new writing done this week, so my kick in the pants flopped. This week I’m totally focused on edits, so the new stuff will have to take a back seat. That is fine, as I’m mulling over a few plot points for my urban paranormal. I’m working on cleaning it up too, and am anxious to start sending it out. Soon….

What is everyone else up to this week?

Another Crazy Week

Well, I had a great weekend, trying to relax and take it easy. I managed to get some revisions done…not as many as I’d hoped, but forward progress. AND, I think my blog has finally been released from the bowls of “OMG Google has deemed you evil” list.

*does a happy dance*

This week I had lofty goals…but I forgot that I was in training all week for my day job. Doesn’t sound like a big deal, expect the training in in Toronto. That means I have to leave my house at 6am and won’t get home till 6pm. Makes for a long day.

So tonight I didn’t get any writing done. I’m hoping I’ll have a bit more energy tomorrow to get some more revisions done. I hate it when life throws you a curve.

How is everyone else making out? What do you have on your plate for the week?

Weekend Clean Up

So on the writing front I’ve been pretty slack this summer. I think I really needed the break to try and fill the creative well. But I’m not going to let myself slack any longer!

I need goals…

So, getting back into the habit that worked so well for me in the past, I’m going to post my goals for the week. In fact, I’m going to reinstate…KICK IN THE PANTS!

The month of September is going to be designed to give me a boot to the rear and get me focused. Here is what I’m planning this week:

- Edits to Heaven’s Sight (first three chapters)
- Pick which story to work on, either Heaven’s Fire or The Bond That Saves Us
- Write at least 5000 words on that story

That should be enough to get me going.

What are your plans for the weekend?

OMG New Website!!!

Okay I’m SUPER excited today because MY NEW WEBSITE IS UP!!!! Oh, oh, oh it is BEAUTIFUL!!!

Please stop by www.christinedabo.com and check it out. I still need to get my book list updated, but I’d love to know what you all think. Oh and you may have noticed that my blog is currently missing all the pretty pictures. We will be updating that shortly as well. Keep your eyes peeled!
