Technical Difficulties and Vacation

Hello my friends!! Some of you may have noticed that there’s been a nasty message coming up when you go to access my blog. Apparently Google thought I was a spam site for some reason. I think we have it fixed now, so if anyone is still getting the message, please send me know. Feel free to email me!

I haven’t been around much this week as I have friends up visiting from Nova Scotia. We’ve been having a fantastic time! Tomorrow we are going to Niagara Falls and White Wolf Lodge with the kids. I’m super excited to be going as I’ve never seen the falls.

Oh and I meant to tell everyone about Evil Dead The Musical. FANTASTIC!!!! Oh man I had tears coming down my face it was so funny. Please do yourself a favor and go see this play if you ever have the opportunity. If you live near the Toronto area, its still playing until September 6th.

Today we’re off to go get some things for the kids. School starts next week and we’re nowhere near ready. *sigh*

How is everyone else making out?!

That!! But Not that…

That…But not that…

Primal Elements Out Today!!

*does a super excited snoopy dance*

*falls on floor panting*

*gets up and does another super excited snoopy dance*

It’s out!! YEAH!!!! To celebrate (and to taunt you all into buying it), here is an excerpt. :D I hope you all enjoy it.

Blurb:

The last thing Jenna Robins wants for her thirtieth birthday is a trip to
the Perfect Match dating service, but she is given little choice from her
group of friends. What she doesn’t expect is to be “matched” with Ben
Hawthorn, her arrogant and handsome, ex-boss. Her opinion of Ben hasn’t
softened much since he sabotaged her research project by pulling the funding
at the last minute seven years ago.

But after a night of passion and the discovery of an alien artifact, Ben and
Jenna are forced to come to terms with their past relationship as the device
draws them closer together physically and emotionally. They must rely on
each other if they are to survive an attack from an old foe, and the force
of their own attraction.

Excerpt:

Ben’s lips turned up in a faint smile. “I’ll agree to your terms if you
answer a question.”

Jenna’s throat was tight, thick to the point of blocking her speech. Not
trusting herself, she nodded.

Ben moved his face closer, stopping inches from hers. “How will I know if
you like it?”

Her hand automatically moved to his chest, a feeble attempt to protect her
sensibilities and to put a small barrier between them for her protection. It
didn’t matter. Ben took another half step closer, increasing the contact
between them. His words were hot against her skin.

“How will I know? I hate performing below expectations, Jenna. And after you
took the time to look so absolutely,” his eyes traveled down her body,
“stunning, I don’t want to be a disappointment to you.”

Her brain already screamed her approval, but a mysteriously wicked streak
suddenly emerged in her. He was as affected as she was. Ben’s heart pounded
in his chest under her hand, the muscles tightened as she flexed her fingers
against him.

“I’ll let you know,” she said with a confidence she never quite felt around
him. “I would hate for you to work blind.”

Ben’s wide grin seemed to fill his perfect face. “Aren’t you full of
surprises? I forgot that little detail about you. I think you’ll find that I
have a few of my own.”

With another half step forward, Jenna’s back was pressed against the door
she was trying to exit a few moments earlier. Thighs against thighs. The
hand that had been caressing her cheek now pressed against the door. His
scent surrounded her, intensified by his body heat.

“Close your eyes,” he said in a low voice.

Unable to resist such an invitation, her lids fluttered shut. Every nerve in
her body was stretched in a vain attempt to anticipate what Ben would do. So
when he whispered in her ear, she jumped.

“Now I have a dilemma,” his hot breath swirled around her ear. “You didn’t
tell me where you wanted me to kiss you.”

She tried to speak, but he squeezed her hand still held captive on the
doorknob.

“Now, now. It’s more fun when I have to figure things out on my own.”

Jenna’s heart couldn’t possibly beat any faster than it was at that moment.
His hand slid from hers and brushed the neckline of her dress.

“Personally, I would love to place a kiss right here.” He brushed his
fingertips above her cleavage. “But I don’t think that’s what you had in
mind with your request.”

His fingers traced a slow path up her chest to stop at her collarbone. She
shivered, goose bumps rising on her skin.

“This looks like it has potential, but I think you would prefer something
closer to here.”

Again his fingertips journeyed higher, this time stopping at the hollow
below her earlobe. Jenna sucked in a small breath.

“Here? Is this the spot, Professor? Should I test my hypothesis?”

Without another word, Ben lowered his lips to her neck. His tongue found her
overly sensitive skin, caressed her neck and suckled her earlobe. Jenna
flexed her fingers against Ben’s chest, encouraging him on. She almost
opened her eyes in protest when he pulled back.

“Hmm, I don’t think that was quite right. Will you give me another chance?”

“Yes,” her voice was almost desperate.

“Thank you. I promise I’ll get it right this time. Now I think I was close
last time. I was close, wasn’t I?”

She couldn’t help it. Jenna opened her eyes to look at her tormentor. His
hazel eyes were almost swallowed by the blacks of his pupils. His lips were
wet, parted slightly, poised for further contact.

“Yes, you were close.”

“I see.” Reaching up he brushed her lips with his thumb. “I wouldn’t want to
be accused of being traditional, but I would very much like to kiss your
lips. Would you like that?”

As if on cue, her eyes closed and she tilted her face towards his. If he
didn’t kiss her soon she was going to scream.

Ben chuckled, “I see I’ve found the spot.”

Primal Elements - Ben!

Oh yeah! Primal Elements is set to release tomorrow from EC and I’m super excited about the whole thing. Today I wanted to talk to you about my boy Ben.

- Ben Hawthorn is one of the richest men on the Mars colony

- He has influence with government officials, mostly due to some dirt he’s tucked away…just in case.

- His best friend, who is also his driver/bodyguard, is Mat. Mat is charming where Ben is more serious. Ben has a tendency to be a bit jealous.

- Ben is tired of women chasing him for his money and the prestige that comes to being on his arm. He doesn’t feel people see him for who he really is.

- He was attacked several years earlier and now has a scar on his face from a knife blade.

- Ben is always business first. He needs someone to help him take a step back and learn to enjoy life.

So that’s a quick peek into the lives of Jenna and Ben. I hope you’ll want to get to know them better tomorrow when Primal Elements comes out. :D

Evil Dead The Musical!!!

When you have kids of a certain age, you tend to live under a rock and miss all the cool things. It sucks. BUT…occasionally you get to pawn the loves of your life off on a poor unsuspecting teenage and get to have FUN!

A bunch of us are hitting Toronto Friday night to go see Evil Dead - The Musical!!!

OH YEAH!! Musical comedy with blood and gore and evil hands. Can it get any better?!? Well it could, but the splatter zone tickets were all sold out. I love these movies, I’ve watched them over and over (OCD issues) and I’ve been bouncing all day since I got seats. I’ll give you all an update (and pictures) once I get back.

Hail to the King!

Primal Elements - Jenna

I thought for fun today, I’d give you a little background on Jenna. She is my super sexy heroine from Primal Elements, and someone who I really love.

Things about Jenna:

- She is an environmental professor at the Mars University

- She is concerned with the dangerous state of the Mars soil, and isn’t sure that the planet will be able to sustain life long term

- She fronted a project seven years ago to try and prove her theory about the environmental collapse, but was shut down by Ben Hawthorn

- Jenna has a secret love of bondage, but nothing too extreme. It’s something she’d only do with a special partner

- She has just turned 30, and hates the fact she’s still single

- Despite her independent streak, Jenna is looking for someone who she can not only share her professional interests, but who she can explore her fantasies

Tomorrow, we’ll talk a bit about Ben!

Primal Sexies

I’m over at Six Degrees of Sexy today talking about some of the ways I got over my writer’s block when I was working on Primal Elements.

Sometimes a scene…

You know sometimes when you see a scene in a show or movie, or read something in a book and it hits you hard. I re-found this clip from Battlestar Galactica on YouTube.  Even without the context,  I think it will give you shivers.

Gaeta’s Lament

Happy Friday everyone!

I need to mow!!

I’ve decided that I hate the rain for one reason…I can’t get outside to mow my lawn. The neighbours are about to pound on my door I’m sure. The grass in my backyard is damn near half a foot high. Literally everytime I have five minutes to go out and get it done, the heavens open up, lightning comes, and buckets of water attempt to drown me.

Of course I’m sitting in my office at the moment looking out the window at the sun…cursing…

*pathetic sigh*

I need a coffee.
