Off To Nationals!!!

Well tomorrow morning I fly out to San Francisco! I haven’t been this excited about a trip in a long time.A chance to meet all my friends from online IN PERSON!!

*does a snoopy dance*

For those of you who aren’t going…I’m going to miss you. To fill in the gap, the Six Degrees of Sexy ladies are running a While We are Out contest. Make sure you pop over daily to check everything out. It’s all ready running…what are you waiting for!

/shoo

I’ll be back soon with pictures and stories for you all. Giant HUG!!! coming out to you all. :D

Fantastic Friday!

There was something in the air last night people. Three separate individuals I know ended up having something FANTASTIC happen to them last night. One I can’t tell you about yet….a friend got engaged, and my husband got to attend the preview of the Stargate: Continuum movie at Comic Con. I’m so jealous of him right now it’s not freaking funny! *sigh*

Speaking of my husband, he is having a fantastic time at Comic Con. He got to attend the Doctor Who and Torchwood sessions (and apparently John Barrowman is even funnier in person than he appears in the interviews), he saw the Stargate movie, and that was only for day one! I can’t wait to see the pictures. :D

Me, I’ve been trying to get ready for Nationals and realized I’m not. I need to go shopping this weekend, so my poor girls are going to get dragged around. I need to my a little black dress. ;) I also need to work on a pitch for my book(s), and get all my OCD-I-have-to-check-everything-ten-thousand-times list out. Fun weekend ahead!

Oh! And I want to take a second to pimp a fantastic book I’m reading. It’s called Personal Demons by the fabulous Stacia Kane. Here’s the Amazon description:

Megan promises listeners to her new radio call-in show that she’ll “slay their personal demons,” and they believe her. So do the personal demons… although she doesn’t know it, Megan is the only human without a demon on her shoulder! Megan and her allies - a demon lover who both protects and seduces her with devilish intensity, a witch with poor social skills, and three cockney guard demons - have to deal not only with the personal demons, but a soul-sucker, ghosts of Megan’s past, and a reporter who threatens to destroy Megan’s career!

I’m just over halfway through the story and LOVE it! The only reason I put it down is because I’m so tired after my days. I plan to finish it tonight though.

What are your plans for the weekend??

Primal Elements!!!

Oh wow, today has been fantastic! I just found out that my release date for Primal Elements, my new futuristic romance from Ellora’s Cave, is scheduled for release August 22!!

I’m so thrilled for this book to come out. Jenna and Ben are a super hot couple, who heat up the surface of the Mars colony when they discover an alien artifact.

Bondage, and aliens, and dating services…oh my? Oh yes. :D

I’m still waiting on the cover, but I’ll let you know as soon as I get it. :)

HUGS!

Sexy Tuesday!

I’m blogging over at the Six Degrees of Sexy site, talking about how to stay motivated as a writer in the summer. I’d love for you to come over and say hi! :D

HUGS!

*looks around confused*

Wow…this is where my blog went.

Hello everyone, I’d like to introduce myself. I’m Christine, and apparently I’ve been MIA for a week. Wondering what happened to me? I’m kind of trying to figure that out myself. See my charming and wonderful husband has been away for eight (yes that’s right), days on business. He was supposed to be home on Friday, but plans changed and now I won’t see him until Monday…NEXT Monday. That’s (counts on fingers) 17 days people!

Of course Tuesday I leave for San Francisco for Nationals…another seven days apart.

This is stressful for us…as a couple in the past 19 years (met him when I was 14…not that old ;) ) we’ve only been apart longer once.

*great big pathetic sigh*

So, I’ve been busy working, writing and running after my girls. TOTALLY forgot to blog. But I’ll be back a bit more this week. :D

On a totally positive note, I just found out that The Bond That Heals Us was blessed with a Joyfully Reviewed Recommended Read for July!!

The fablous Tanya said this (which completely made me blush):

Ms. d’Abo has captured the essence of not only being human, but those who strive for the best they can be, and at the same time have a very vulnerable side.

HUGS!! The rest of the review can be found here!

So what is everyone else up to this week?

4.5 Stars for The Bond That Heals Us!!

What a way to start my Saturday!! I just found out that The Bond That Heals Us received a 4.5 star review from eCataromance!

Strong characters, plot twists and passionate love combine in the pages of The Bond That Heals Us to produce a tale that will keep the reader on the edge of their seats. Christine D’Abo is one author that should be on everyone’s list.

I’m totally blushing here! Thank you so much for the fantastic review and kind words Elise. :D

You can read the full review HERE!

:D

Having a Friday

In my evil day job (EDJ) on occasion (every week) I have what we refer to as a Friday. Now, this isn’t like what normal people call Fridays…in fact, I dread the end of the week.

If my life was a science fiction show, Friday would be the end of the world.

Weekly.

Instead I’m in management…and Friday is the end of the world.

Weekly.

Why is it everything likes to wait and jump on me and my team then? Well we’re not going to take it! No, we are fighting back against Friday! I’ve decided I’m having a TUESDAY!!

Nothing bad happens on a Tuesday… :D

Tonight I’m going to be working on my pitch for Nationals. I’ll be mulling it over in my mind all day (because nothing bad will happen because I’m having a Tuesday), and I’ll write it out tonight.

Tomorrow, I have my TRW meeting and I can’t wait! Raelene from Ellora’s Cave will be our guest speaker and I have the honor of driving her to the meeting.

What is everyone else up to?

/panic attack

OMG RWA Nationals are only….20 days away!! I’m so not ready. Not even a little. I need to go shopping and coordinate with Wylie (she’s my bunk mate, god help her), and figure out all the other little details that my OCD will drive me nuts about.

ARGAAAAA!!

Okay, I’m better now…

This is my first conference ever, for anything like this. Hell, other than professional training conferences (which really aren’t overly exciting), this will be my first time going to something for fun. The chance to hear speakers, meet with other writers, maybe get to pitch to an editor…amazing.

So those of you who have done this before…what do I need to do to get ready??

Help!

Looks up at the big wall

Wow I’ve been having a slow go of my writing recently. I think it must be all the nice weather because honestly, I mind isn’t on my work. Maybe I should try taking my laptop outside to write. ;)

I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend and all my friends in the US had a great long-weekend. I’m starting to get anxious about going to RWA Nationals this month. Only another few weeks and we’re on our way! The idea of getting to hang out with a bunch of authors for a week is the most exciting thing every.

Well…except for a particular fantasy I have…but you don’t need to hear the details on that one. :D

How is everyone else doing? Enjoying summer?

Happy Birthday Mr. d’Abo!

Yes, ladies and gentlemen…today is my husband’s birthday. :D

He’s older than me…but the boy isn’t old. He’s still as sexy, funny and charming as he was when I met him many years ago.

This weekend we plan on having a birthday BBQ, friends and family over…maybe a few glasses *cough*bottles*cough* of wine and a lot of fun. Not sure if I’ll get any writing done, but he’s worth it. ;)

That said, the season finale of Doctor Who is on tomorrow night. I’m SOOOOO watching that before I go to sleep. And then I’ll probably re-watch it the next day after the wine induced haze has gone LOL!

What is everyone else up to this weekend?
