Do you know what?

Taking some time off just to goof around is really good. I’m bouncing and ready to tackle a new project…one that I’ve just gotten the green light to go ahead and start on.

One that I can’t tell you all the details about because I don’t physically have the contract in my hand yet…but I can say this:

It’s a new story that I’ll be writing.

I’ll be using a new pen name.

It’s going to be REALLY cool.

I’m hoping to have the contract in hand in the next two to three weeks, and then I can fill you in on the details. But I’m going to start working on the story this weekend. :D

So I’m all bouncy again, ready to rock and roll…and it’s Sci-Fi Saturday again this week. Both Doctor Who and Battle Star are on and I plan to have a nice evening watching them.

What are your plans?

Life so far

I’m so happy summer is on its way. I love the heat…miss the heat…but not too hot. I’m so Canadian. :D

It’s been a pretty lazy week for me so far. I haven’t done much in the way of writing, more like playing around. I have been reading some wonderful stories though (Fox’s Bride by the wonderful Amy Ruttan neener neener) and generally taking it easy. I needed the break from all my projects to get myself charged up again. Because the next thing I want to take on is book four in the Eternal Bond series.

And that one is going to be a fun one to write.

I’m all caught up on my TV shows with the exception of the CSI finale. I’m not looking forward to watching it because I know what happens and it will make me cry. I’ve had enough crying because of TV LOL!

So reading and writing are filling my time these days. How is everyone doing? What are you reading/writing?

Need A Break From My Break

Wow…I can’t keep up with things anymore. I’ve barely been online the past two weeks, not because I don’t want to be, but because I’ve been so flipping busy! We were out for most of the weekend. When I wasn’t socilaizing, I was critiquing (I’m getting there Amy!).

I’ve also begun edits for two new EC novels. The Bond That Consumes Us is looking good. That’s right, Taber will be coming your way soon! Primal Elements is book one in a new series that I have planned. I had to clean a few things up, but I forgot how much I liked that story.

I’ve been so busy with this stuff, I’m actually behind in my TV viewing. Not that there’s much on anymore, but I’m about three episodes behind for Battlestar Galatica. The only good thing, is that I’ll have three to watch back to back. :D

Did you all have a good weekend? What did you do?

Jones, Doctor Jones

I was very lucky to have been able to see the new Indy movie the other day. I got advanced tickets through work and my husband and I took in a matinee.

Wow.

It had all the elements that I really enjoy in movies. It was fun, fast, had great dialogue and didn’t take itself too serious. Harrison Ford still has it people!

This weekend I’m going to be neck deep in edits for my next two books (The Bond That Consumes Us and Primal Elements) and after that I’ll be going through the critiques I’ve been promising people. Lots of reading for me.

My treat for getting everything done? Law of Averages by Wylie and Love Thy Neighbor by Amy! Of ladies, I’m so looking forward to reading these. If you haven’t picked these books up yet, go now to EC…buy them!!!

What are your plans for the weekend?

The Year Everyone Dies

Okay Hollywood…enough. Please. That goes for you too BBC.

I typically love season finales for TV shows. Really I do. But this year has just about killed me. There are very few shows that I actually watch on a regular basis, but so far this year, the finale of each of them has seen the death of at least one principle (or regularly reoccurring and I happen to really like)  character.

I’ve cried enough!!!

Please no more…

Torchwood, House, NCIS…Stargate: Atlantis has then entire crew buried alive at the moment…and I missed last week’s CSI, but I’ve heard rumors. I know in Battlestar Galatica at least one, if not more of those characters will die before the show finishes.

It’s just too much for this little fangirl’s heart to take.

*sob*

Sorry State of Sci-Fi on TV

Hello everyone!! Sorry I disappeared there last week. My parents came to town and I’ve been having a fantastic time with them. This weekend I went out and bought the entire seven seasons of Buffy The Vampire Slayer. They were on sale and I couldn’t resist. Of course this has gotten me thinking about the sorry state of Sci-Fi on TV these days.

Battlestar Galatica is in its last season, they cancelled Moonlight, the Bionic Woman and Sarah Connor Chronicles were disappointing, and I can’t even think of another new sci-fi show on TV these days.

What happened??

Doctor Who only has a few episodes left this series and then I’ve got nothing to keep me going for months. I don’t even know when Torchwood is coming back, but I imagine its January 09 at least. And Stargate: Atlantis won’t be back until September.

*dramatic sigh*

This is why I write people…I need something to fill the gap in my life. Anyone out there that can recommend a good show, please let me know. If not, I’m going to be going back to rewatch Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Stargate: SG1 on DVD.

New Review – Wizard’s Thief!

Okay so I’m still blushing over this one. Wizard’s Thief just received this wonderful review from Joyfully Reviewed.

Wizard’s Thief is a wonderful story of loss and survival.  Raine and Callie were made for each other…literally! Wizard’s Thief is brilliant and Christine d’Abo is brilliant, too!  Ms. d’Abo knows how to create a wonderful world of intrigue and romance.  Not to mention hot sex!  Who wouldn’t want to live in a world where sex helps create magic!  I loved the world of the Warren wizards and I hope that Ms. d’Abo has plans for more stories in this wizarding world.

Thank you Jambrea for all your kind words! I guess I should finish the second book in that series LOL!

HUGS!

New Week…new story

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother’s Day. I was busy with my girls and we had a fantastic day. I did have to drive my husband to the airport. He had a business meeting in Norway (lucky bugger) this week, so I’ll be alone for the next few days.

I finished the first draft of my urban paranormal this weekend. I was doing a major snoopy dance on that one, let me tell you. I need to let it sit for a bit and get a few people to read it over. Then I’m going to attack it again and make sure it is cleaned up to pitch at Nationals.

That also means I’ll be ready to start a new story soon. I have one that I need to get written (I’ll tell you all about that one soon), and then I need to get started on book four of  the Eternal Bond series.

So how was everyone’s weekend? What are your plans for the week?

Snoopy Dancing All Over The Place

It’s here!! It’s OUT!! (well not quite yet, but the buy link will be out soon)

The Bond That Heals Us is released today! Can you tell I’m excited??

*does a snoopy dance*

I love this story. I know I say that about all my books, but this one and the next book in The Eternal Bond series, The Bond That Consumes Us, were so much fun to write. It also helped that I pretty much wrote them back to back, the flow of the characters never left me.

I so hope you’re all going to enjoy Davin. Personlly, I think he’s really sexy…and he has tattoos…

You’ll get to see lots of Taber, Kamran, Haylie, Sean, and will get to meet a few new characters too.

*does another random snoopy dance*

I hope you all enjoy it. Here’s a quick excerpt to warm your engines.

When a loud hiss of atmosphere vented from the shuttle door, every security guard in the bay raised their weapons a fraction higher, fixing them on the spot. Sara gasped when the most unusually handsome man she’d ever laid eyes gripped the now open entrance and leaned out of the ship to stare directly at Taber. His shoulder length brown hair fell forward, partially covering his face.

“I have wounded in here. I need a doctor,” he snapped.

Before she had time to blink, he retreated inside the shuttle. Kicking her body into overdrive, Sara was through the door and halfway across the shuttle bay before Taber could turn around.

“Sara!”

“Come with me if you want, but I’m not stopping. You heard him, they need help.”

Somehow she managed to skirt past Taber and threw her med kit up into the open door. The entrance, which would normally be only a foot from the ground, was a full five feet in the air. For not the first time in her life, Sara cursed her five feet five inches and tried to pull herself in.

“Let me help,” a voice said from above.

Sara looked up and into the most amazing golden eyes she’d ever seen. His irises were reptilian shaped and Sara found herself unable to look away.

“You’re the doctor, I assume?” His voice was deep with an unusual accent.

His English was surprisingly good for a race she’d never seen before. And he sounded more than a little amused, despite the circumstances he was currently in. She had the distinct impression he was laughing at her. She hated it when people laughed at her.

“Are you going to help me up or not?”

“Sara, let me,” Taber said from behind.

She found herself being pushed and pulled up—directly into the waiting arms of her unusual alien. The air in her lungs whooshed out, leaving her shaking and very much aware of the large, firm, male chest she was currently pressed against. He wasn’t as tall as Taber or any of the other Briel on the planet, but he was more than big enough for Sara. A full head taller than her, she was forced to tilt her head back to look into his golden eyes.

“If you’re the doctor, I might have to get ill.” He practically purred as he spoke and then he winked.
