Pampered and Pumped

Oh I had a lovely day yesterday! Not only did I do my taxes (and am getting a refund YEAH!!), but I got my manicure, pedicure and went to a BBQ. I didn’t think about work or writing and was able to relax.  I toped the whole evening off by enjoying the new Doctor Who episode. All in all, a fantastic Saturday.

Today, I’m pumped! I’m ready to get some writing done…but I do have some chores that need to be finished first. Bathrooms to be cleaned…clothing to be washed…

*sigh*

Regardless, I’m going to jump into my story here shortly and I’m hoping to finish the chapter that I’m working on.

I hope everyone who went to RT had a fantastic time. I’m going to plan to go next year rather than Nationals. I can only afford one conference like this a year (if that) and need to make sure I get to do the rounds.

I didn’t make my writing goal of 5000 words this week, but I did okay coming in at 3,525. I’m going to aim for 5k again this week and see if I can get closer.

How is everyone making out? What are your goals for the week?

  • RT sounded like a lot of fun from what I’ve read on other people’s blogs. I think I may look at going next year. (Depending upon where it is and how much money I have.)

My own writing went great this week – hit over 12K in 5 days. I doubt I’ll achieve that this week, but I’m going to aim for 2K minimum a day – I’m at that for today. But I’m sitting here looking at the beautiful weather and knowing I should be out there doing all my garden cleanup.

  • Oh, and good on getting the whole manicure-pedicure treatment. I think I’m going to reward myself with another massage when I type ‘the end’ on this first draft.

  • Woohoo Leah!! That is an impressive word count. Man, I need to get back into the groove like that. :D

I’ve been cleaning most of today, but my windows are all open and the breeze is fantastic. I’ve tried to get some writing in, but the girls must be able to sense when I’m about to start. They keep asking me things as soon as I start to write. :D

  • RT does sound like a lot of fun. Maybe one year… Your weekend sounded lovely. I didn’t do much at all. It was very relaxing.

  • Well, that seals it. If you’re going, I’m going. Period.

  • I’d love to go, but geez, the cost sure does add up! If I go anywhere next year, it’d be Nationals since it’s in Ann’s neck of the woods!

  • Sounds like you had a wonderful day! Anytime you get a tax refund is a good day. LOL

Like you, I have to do some housework today. Other than that, I want to do some writing.

I’m planning on RT next year too. It’s expensive, but I really want to go.

  • Oh if we all end up going to RT next year we are going to have a BLAST!!! I’m saving my pennies as soon as I’m done saving for Nationals this year LOL!

  • Hey, Christine – Stella MacLean had the same feeling when I reviewed her book. Like I must be writing about someone else. But I’m not! It’s you, baby, yeah!

  • Oh man, I’m dying to go to RT next year. And it’s in Orlando, FL (I used to live there and haven’t been back in 7 years). I wanna go! :)
