Sunday Musings

What a week. I have barely had time to turn around let alone keep up with half the things on my plate. This week I did manage to get 4,792 words written. Not as much as I’d hoped for, but not bad considering how busy I was. So far that means I’ve written 10,653 words for the Seven challenge and that’s not too bad.

I’m try to get some writing done today, but I’m finding it slow going. I’m getting tired, but still love this story so much that I can’t stop.

My week at work should be a bit calmer and that should help with my creativity. The girls will also be back in school from March break and that will also help. :D Love them to death, but they are bored and love to bug mom.

How is everyone making out? Still keeping out of trouble?

Dazed and Confused

Wow…was that the week that just flew by? Why is it that as soon as I think I have things under control the world has other plans?

Oh well.

I’ve been managing to get my writing done. I’m sitting at just under 5000 words for the week so far, and I plan on doing some more writing this weekend. That means I’m over 10k for this round of the Sven challenge. I think that pretty much puts me on track for finishing the book on time. I’m hoping to buckle down this weekend and put a big push on. I’d like to get ahead of the curve a bit in case next week is just as crazy for me.

My husband just got some fantastic news on the job front…which I can’t actually tell you about because the details aren’t final yet. Needless to say if it goes through, we are going to be very happy. :D

How is everyone doing? What are your plans for the weekend?

Sven and Humpday

Hello everyone! I’m still struggling under the weight of everything I’m trying to do. Things are starting to suffer and I’m doing less than stellar in a number of areas.

That said, my writing has been going well. Amy has been keeping me motivated at night by cracking the whip and getting me going. I’ve managed to write just over 3k since Sunday, which is pretty good considering what’s going on.

Tonight I’m going to start a new chapter and this one is going to feature my villian, so I’m excited about that one. Depending on how things go at work, I might even take a lunch break…cross your fingers.

How is everyone? Is anyone still reading my blog LOL?

Insane…

First off CONGRATULATIONS RENEE!!! Her fantastic book Rapture WON in her EPPIE category.

*does the snoopy dance*

Folks, I’m sorry I haven’t been around the last few days. My day job is a bit on the consuming side this week. I’m going to be offline for a few days, just so I can get caught up with a number of different things.

I’ll give you all a progress report on Sven soon…

Miss you all, and I hope to be back on Wednesday.

Sven = Progress

So my writing has been pretty good the last little while. I’m not cranking out the numbers like some people I know (looks at Amy) but I’m making progress on my paranormal. I’m still concerned that the story is falling flat, but regardless I’m pushing forward.

Got to see Torchwood last night. God I love that show! I thought there were two episodes, so I was very sad to see there was only one. Now I have to wait another whole week. *sigh*

On another note, I’m going to try and get around to everyone’s blogs a bit better in the upcoming weeks. I’ve been finding it so hard to come and say hi to you all. Please know that I do actually read, even if I don’t always comment. HUGS.

So I need some excitement. Anyone have any awesome news they want to share? Books for promote? Let me know!!

Sven vs My Husband

My husband won…

So did I :D

I did managed to squeak in a few hundred words, but nothing impressive. It makes me happy that I did the 2k the night before. Tonight though I have to buckle down and get a pile written so I can watch Torchwood.

Must…watch…

I’m really enjoying the paranormal again. Still know it has some issues, but I seem to be over my mental block about it. Let’s just hope I can keep it going.

It’s snowing like crazy here today, so that might mean that Guides will be cancelled today and then I won’t have to go anywhere. I have to say, I’m sick of the snow. I’m not a winter person to begin with, but this year has been crazy. Spring better hurry up and get here already.

How is everyone making out today?

Ouch Sven!

So yesterday was the first day of the Sven challenge for me. I know it started on Saturday officially, but I hadn’t decided to start it until Sunday late. I get seven flex days so it looks like I took two of them up front. :D

Thanks to some nagging from Amy, I actually managed to get 2000 words done on my urban paranormal. I’m quite happy, as I’ve managed to ignore the big gaping issue in the previous chapter. I can go back and fix it, but for now really need to push forward.

Sven is a task master. So is Amy.

But I’m 2000 words further into the story than I was, and feel like I’m back on track. I have no idea where this one is going at this point, as it’s more urban than romance at this stage. I’m hoping it comes across okay.

Any other sweaters out there? How are you doing?

Sven – Here we go again

I wasn’t going to do it…but as of right now I’m officially signed up for Seventy Days of Sweat! I have two manuscripts that I plan on finishing. The first is my book with Amy (I hope you’re ready hon), and the second is my urban paranormal.

I’m going to really buckle down and focus for the next little bit. I need to feel like I’m accomplishing something with my writing. I haven’t finished a manuscript since November, and it’s really bothering me. That statement might seem insane to some of you, but I’m used to cranking out a book every 6-8 weeks. Not having something completed is driving me CRAZY!

So Sven will help whip me into shape. That and the fact I won’t watch the TWO new Torchwood episodes this week until I’m done my goal.

Crap…I better get writing!

Anyone else doing Sven??

Congratulations and Goals

The winner of the Purple Explosion Contest was Jennifer McKenzie!! Way to go Jennifer. I’ll be mailing you your Six Degrees of Sexy t-shirt this week.

This Sunday also ends my kick in the pants challenge.  I did really well on the writing front, managing 7,432 words this week. I didn’t get much done on my urban paranorma, but Amy and I made great strides on our story. I’m really loving it and I can’t wait to see the next chapter (no pressure Amy! :D ).

I actually re-read what I’ve done in my paranormal, and think I’ve found a few problems with the plot. I’m going to try and fix them and then hopefully get back into it. I’m also going to sign up for Sven today. That should help motivate me.

With any luck, my day job will be a bit lighter this week and I’ll have a bit more energy to write. I do love what I do, but it can be very demanding.

So what is your week looking like? How did your writing go?
