Well it’s that time again! Hard to believe how fast the weeks seem to go these days. I haven’t been writing at my normal pace, but I’m okay with that. I’ve come to realize that my natural writing pace for winter is a bit slower than the rest of the year. As long as I’m doing something, then I’m happy with that.
This week I managed to get about 2000 words done on my urban paranormal. That means since this challenge started I’ve managed just over 25k words on the story. I’m not finished, but I’m thrilled. And with two weeks left to go in the kick in the pants initiative, I’m confident that I’ll get even closer to my goal.
That said, I do have a small confession. Today I started working on another story. Well, went back to it. I needed a break from the paranormal, and hope that shifting gears today will have me ready to go for the rest of the week. I also want to try and get this one done and submitted to EC. I’d love to sneak it in for the jewel series later in the year. So cross your fingers I’ll get it done.
How is everyone else making out??
hi christine. just popped by to say hi! what kind of paranormal? i recently won a meljean brook title and she seems to have everyone (angels, demons, vampires, in-betweens) but werewolves in each volume.
Christine – I am nowhere near my stated goal for this challenge, but as you say, just continuing on is a triumph. I’m happy with the revisions – if that’s the appropriate word. More like grateful the torment is nearing the end.
I forgot to check in last night! Well, I did finish polishing my partial and getting it ready to send. But! My printer broke, I bought a new one and it doesn’t work either. Arrggggh. Yesterday was full of frustration.
In fact, I’m taking a mini break until Sven starts on 3/1 and I’m going to do other projects around the house. Like painting a few rooms, purging out old toys, etc. That’ll feel good.
Good luck this week everyone!
Thanks so much, Christine. Since the challenge started I’ve written 34K and did get to my goal of being nearly finished by mid February so that I could get pitches etc. ready for March 1 conference.
Now if I could just get the #&@%*$# printer going…
Best of luck!
Ugh. I don’t even want to talk about it. It’s becoming painful trying to get these revisions done.
Well it’s Monday, and it’s 7 p.m., I only managed 2k instead of 5k because I was in Niagara Falls, drinking wine, sleeping and enjoying a night without kids.
I think I’ll shoot for 5k this week
