Sunday Check In!

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you all had a productive week. I seemed to hit my stride with my story and am super excited with how everything is turning out. I’m starting chapter 8 today and am really getting a feel for my characters. I also had some fantastic news on the writing front that I’ll share with everyone tomorrow. :D

My goal for this week was to write 5000 words. I actually reached that goal on Tuesday, so I challenged myself to write another 5000. I didn’t quite make it, but ended up with a total of 7,465 words!

How are you all making out??

  • Despite not being able to write for Monday or Tuesday, I surprised myself and wrote over the 5K goal that I’d set for myself. And I’m getting really excited about my storyline, it’s really coming together well.

Weekly Goal? I think like you, I’m going to set my goal at 5,000 again and hope to attain more.

Things that might hold me back? Out on Monday with Mom again, but not til the afternoon. After that, hopefully just the usual interruptions.

  • Well I worked on that contest entry instead of my partial (that I really need to work on) and I wrote a little over 8k total on it. So I’m happy with that.

This next week I’m going to be preoccupied with my daughter’s birthday (and mine!) so I might not get as much writing in as I’d like but we’ll see.

You did great Christine! Be proud. :)

  • Well, I just made it, I did another 10,000 words this week. I made it to 20,059.

But I think I’m going to set the bar a little bit lower this week. This is the weekend of the chapter meeting coming up so I don’t want to try to hit 30 k by next Sunday and fail miserably because my Saturday will be eaten up by the meeting. Not that it’s a bad thing.

So I’m going to shoot for getting 5k done by next Sunday. I’m shooting for 25k. Anything I get over 5k will just be bonus. :D

  • Christine, congratulations on the nice word count for the week. I’m barreling through my second set of revisions and hope to have the MS out for one last read through from a writing friend by mid week. She’ll correct all my horrible grammar mistakes.

  • You’re rocking and rolling, Christine! Congratulations! :)

I’ve done pretty well this week — I haven’t quite made my goal yet, but I’m very close, and Sunday isn’t over yet. :) So I’m thinking I’m gonna make it — in fact, my butt’s gonna stay planted in this chair until I *do* make it.

My goal for next week will be to complete content revisions (based on my copious notes) for all POV chapters.

  • I still haven’t even finished first round edits! The edits have been a lot more complicated now that the entire story line has changed. Oh well, tonight is daddy’s night with munchkin, and my time to write… so here goes…

Great job to all of you!

  • Christine – congrats in advance for your tomorrow news!!

Progress so far – I’ve done a lot of gazing at scenes to rework them, plus I’ve interviewed my characters to help me cut through my own inability to see the forest for the trees. Very, very tempted to work on another WIP because this is SO HARD. But I’m forcing myself to keep slicing through the jungle vines with my machete.

Goal for next week – keep resisting the urge to look at my gardener story, and wrestle the vampire revisions into submission.

  • Sorry I keep forgetting to check in. LOL. Well since this started I set my goal at 5K each week and have made and over. Yay!

Goal for this week: Will keep it at 5 K and also remember to check in.

  • THanks so much for this challenge. I wrote 15,200 this week. Now you guys have to realize I don’t have kids and my husband is trying to stay out of my hair.

Tomorrow I find out about the contest and I hope it’s not bad news or it will destroy my momentum for a day.

I have to finish 15k more this week so I can be ready for conference.
