2008 Goals
Anyone who has been reading my blog for a while knows I’m big on setting goals for myself. In 2007, I actually made great headway towards what I was hoping to accomplish for myself. So, to keep me honest, I thought I’d post what I want to do for 2008. So here we go!
- Submit All Bottled Up to at least four print houses this year
- Submit to at least four agents this year. Pitch to an agent at RWA Nationals
- Finish writing book one of my urban paranormal in time to pitch it at RWA Nationals
- Write book four in my Bond series
- Write at least three additional books for EC
- Spend at least 90 min a day on my writing career. This could be actual writing, editing, critiquing other people’s material, and/or marketing
Apparently, I’m going to be busy.
So what are you hoping to get done in 2008?

Happy 2008! Wish you all the luck and hope you can make those goals come true!

I really need to write out my goals for the year. You’re going to be very busy! Nothing wrong with that — good luck with your goals!

Oh, neat! I’ll get to meet you at Nationals. It sounds as if you have a bit of writing ahead of you, but I’m sure you can do it.
Question - is your UF written in first or third person? Just curious since I have an idea knocking around inside my head and can’t decide which to use. I know most are written in 1st but wondered if 3rd might work.

I’ve got a post up about my writing goals — I’m going to be a busy gal in 2008, but that’s the way I like it! And you’ve got a great list of goals — good luck with all of them!
Happy New Year! I hope 2008 is your best writing year yet.

So you’re going to a) finish writing a paranormal, b) write book four in the Bond series, c) write not just one, not two, but THREE more books for EC (are you talking full length here or quickies?) as well as the 90 minutes of critiquing etc? All this while holding down a full time job AND raising a family? Part of me wants to ask ‘Are you insane?’ while the other part thinks “I’m so slow in my writing!” Talk about make me feel inadequate!

Well, we’re talking goals, Leah. I’m not necessarily going to accomplish them all LOL! That said, if I set the bar high, I do occasionally surprise myself.
And yes, I’m most definitely insane.

And the three other books for EC are most likely novellas or Quickies. The short ones are good to do when I need the break.

I love a girl with goals and ambition, you go! I hope you meet everyone one of those goals (and don’t die trying,

I wrote out my goals a few days ago myself. I think they keep me focused and directed which is a good thing for and ADD person. lol
I have an insane January planned as far as writing goes. I’m planning on writing and subbing 3 series to my top 3 publishers. Then I intend to write something longer and start subbing to agents again.
Yay, I’m so excited, I think 2008 will be a great year! I hope it’s very successful for you Christine.
