This picture makes me giggle.
I can’t believe today is December 1st. I’m shocked in a way, like a university student coming off of a weekend bender. I barely know who or where I am and what I should be doing. I’ve noticed I do in fact have a family and that they are somewhat pleased to see me.
I also apparently have most of a book done. I have one chapter left to write, which I’m about to work on after I post. I’m really happy with Taber and Fallon and I thought I’d share a snippet of what I wrote while I was neglecting you all. This is an unedited first draft, so be gentle.

“Oh lord, call me Fallon. I’m a bartender, not an officer. I’d be more than happy to show you and Mr. Taber where I found Nate.
She was about to turn when the alien spoke.
“It’s just Taber.”
She’d done her best to try and ignore the seven foot tall giant standing in front of her. And until he’d spoken, she might have been able to manage it, pretending he was nothing more than a moving wall. But there was something about his voice, the way he said his name that made her really look at him.
He was by far the most attractive man she’d ever seen. His eyes were dark blue, so dark they almost looked black if it weren’t for the crystal blue flecks near the center. They were eyes that showed intelligence, sadness and strength. His black hair was cut short along the sides of his head, with the top a bit longer. She could tell by the way he stood, wide and confident, that he was military.
His muscular, wide shoulders were barely contained in his midnight blue tunic. The belt around his waist that held his tunic in place would have wrapped around hers three or four times. And his legs were clad in snug fitting pants. She assumed it gave him free and easy movement for when he had to chase down the bad guys. It also gave her an amazing view of the massive muscles of his thighs.
What would it be like to have a man like that in her bed?
Somehow Fallon brought her eyes back up to his face and managed to smile. It took a lot to make her blush, but for a moment she thought she might be as red as Tony. The thoughts of what he could do to her body with his large hands and wide, full lips made her shiver. When she tried to speak again, nothing wanted to come out. Her heart was starting to increase in rhythm and there was sudden stirring in her lower belly. He seemed to notice her dilemma and cocked a single eyebrow at her in question.
“We found his body back here,” Lance piped up and made his way over to the back supply room.
Thank you, Lance.
Fallon followed quickly behind her co-worker, trying desperately to ignore her long forgotten sex drive. Lord, she was pathetic if it only took the thought of a large cock to get her tongue tied.

Hmm how about something for the coming case of carpal tunnel?
I can’t wait to read it Christine!!!! The picture is hilarious too. I wrote about 5k yesterday on my dragon story. I actually took your advice and walked away mid sex scene. I was up all night thinking about it.. but I didn’t give in and now I’ve been flinging out the words all morning.
Btw, got me some light up antlers for next week!!! LOL!
See, Amy! There is a method to my madness.
And Sparky, I take great care to protect my wrists…I type with my nose if necessary.
The image of someone typing with their nose cracked me up. Almost as much as that pic.
Your excerpt was great! Taber sounds sexy.
Wrist exercises might work better (just sayin’).
I had to laugh at the cat picture. Loved the excerpt and I can’t wait to read the entire book.
Oh I LOVE THE CAT PIC! And the excerpt . . . oooh, you tease, give me more, give me all of it, I want that book NOW, C!!
LOL @ the cat pic! Yeah, it feels weird to come out of a very stressful situation, like NaNo, and suddenly have it stopped. Perhaps now the stress of Christmas shopping can substitute it. Hehehe!
I have to agree with Tempest — just throw yourself into Christmas so you don’t put your entire system into shock. You know, a little hair of the dog as they say
Yay Christine!
I know how you feel, I tend to hyperfocus in so hard on NaNo that when it’s over it’s disorienting.
That cat pic is too funny btw.
Hee hee! I love the kitty picture!
And congrats on NaNo — I made it, too, and since December began I’ve kinda been looking around, blinking, saying… whaaaaz?
Christine! Thank you for the early Christmas present of a peek into Taber’s story! I can’t wait to see it published!
And love the kitty pic.
November flew by, didn’t it?! I’m glad NaNo worked out so well for you. Taber’s story sounds great.
Congrats on your success with NaNo! And thanks for the sneak peek.
