Congrats on the good day. I haven’t had a good day in a LONG time. I want to start my new story … the one I have planned for NaNo so my muse is driving me crazy … but I don’t want to start it until this Thursday. ARGH!!! I am trying to get my brain to work on the Jewel of the Nile I’ve been puttering with. ARGH

Congrats a good day! Those are always pleasant I’m also not “officially” signing up for Nano, but I am working a short story into a novella. I agree with Julia and Tempest – energy and momentum. Maybe the push to write is what’s more important. Whatever you decide to do, best of luck!

Also – the more I look at Assassin’s Creed, the more I like. Usually, I don’t push Microsoft stuff, but the 360 makes everything look so ridiculously pretty on screen. Plus – the guys who created Prince of Persia (fantastic puzzle/climbing games) did AC.

I’m not going to officially sign up for NaNo, because I want to work on my WIP. But I’m going to act like I’m doing it. Nov. 1st, I’m off! I agree with Tempest, it’s the energy of NaNo that’s most important. Just keep going while the words are flowing on your Taber story.

That’s easy. Go with the one you’re writing, the one with the 2 chapters done. NaNo isn’t just about starting a new story. It’s about using the time to write. The year before last I wrote 5 different stories during NaNo. So what if I wrote 5 of 10K each instead of one? My goal was exactly that, to write 5 stories of 10K each. So use the whole NaNo energy to finish this story.

If you stop now to write a new story for NaNo, maybe you’ll lose the muse for this other story you’re writing now.

That’s a tough dilemma indeed, when you have a story flowing well but you want to write another for something like NaNo. I would advise you not to break the flow — flow is so precious and it can be hard to get back once broken! But good luck, whatever you decide.

I’m brainstorming like crazy for NaNo and will hopefully be ready to hit the ground running with my story on November 1!

Well, I really want to read Taber’s story, so I’m not exactly impartial on this. I say work on it for your NaNo… But if the muse is so insistent that you write his story now maybe you should strike while the iron’s hot and keep writing it now … but then will you lose the flow if you stop to write another story for NaNo … Arrrgggh! To heck on NaNo. Write Taber’s story!
