The End (of the week) Is Near
Here we are at the end of my first week back in Ontario. It’s been interesting to say the least at my EDJ. That said, I really love my new position and think things are going to go well.
Now as far as writing goes, I haven’t done a thing in two weeks. No, I’m not beating myself up over this, but I really want to figure out a way I can get some writing done while we are running on this insane schedule for the next two weeks. And with NaNo starting next week I really need to figure out a way to work everything in. So I’m thinking I’m going to have to start getting up extra early in the mornings again to get at least an hour of writing in before I head off to work. I can try to get an hour in at lunch (not likely, but a bonus if I can make it happen) and then an hour after supper. If I don’t stop to check my email, blog, surf, etc, I can average about 1000 words per hour.
So that is the plan going forward from next Thursday on.
This weekend I’m going to take a look at some basic plotting. Believe it or not, I’m still dithering between writing Taber’s story (The Bond That Consumes Us) and my urban paranormal (Heaven’s Gate). Honestly, I think I’ll only know the day before the start of NaNo. Taber keeps popping into my head these days, so he might win me over…
This weekend I think we are going to hit the market and get ourselves reaquainted with the city. Really, I just want the time to rest and relax. What are your plans??

Good to hear you’re enjoying your new job! Yeah, things are always hectic at first. Maybe once you find a rhythm to it, it might be less hectic. It’s always hard to write when one has a full-time job and things are crazy at work. I know. I’m smack right there since the beginning of the year. *sighs* There’s always hope things might slow down - eventually.
As for the weekend, like you, I just want to rest. It’s been a tough week at work. And next week it’s going to be hell. They’re going to whoop my butt. *shakes her head* So I need to relax as much as I can, recover some of my energies, so I can get through next week.

I have to ditto Tempest. Once you get into the rhythm of new job, new city and soon, new house, you’ll find your grove.

You sound like me budgeting your time to squeeze in the writing! Glad things are going well and hope you find some extra minutes every day. I can’t wait for Nano.
Plans for the weekend: Finish Brimstone! I have to get this done and off to my CPs before Nano starts. I’ll worry about the edits and juggling both that and Nano when I get them back mid month.

It takes time to get into the flow of a new job and new routine so go easy on yourself. I hope the weather is as beautiful up there as it is down here for your reacquaintance with the city.
I’m hoping Nano forces some discipline on me when it comes to email and running around the web when I should be writing.
I need to decide which new story I’m going to tackle for Nano.

Ibid! A thousand words an hour! *bows to your skill* I’m dithering over which story to work on for NaNo as well. I’ll probably decide Nov. 1st. LOL

Booksigning in Michigan this weekend. No writing either … just trying to decide between three shirts to wear. *sigh*
Looking forward to my first trip west of London, Ontario!! WoOHOO

I’m doing brainstorming for NaNo — trying to get to where I think I can chug ahead every day of November on my story without getting lost as a ball in high weeds, LOL!
I’m glad you’re enjoying your new job!
