Thursday Thirteen #46
I LOVE candy. Love, love, love. I have a big bowl of it sitting on my desk at work and love to snack on it all the time. So it goes without saying that Halloween is one of my favourite holidays. No pretense - it’s about candy, dressing up and fun. For my Thursday Thirteen this week, I thought I’d share with you some of my favourite candies.
1. Fizz
2. Pixie Sticks
3. Rockets
4. Laffy Taffy
5. Popeye Sticks
6. Caramel
7. Chocolate
8. Swedish Berries
9. Candy Corn
10. Pop/Soda
11. Bottle Caps
12. Suckers
13. Tootsie Rolls

I hide what you call Rockets from my kids. They are my one non-chocolate vice. (we call ‘em Smarties, but I think you knew that)
I hope the kids bring lots of them home for me next week!
Happy TT, babe!

You know, the makers of Rockets (CeeDee Candy’s) is just around the corner from my house!

I am so coming to your house for Halloween. Keep the light on!

Yeah, gotta love those Smarties/Rockets (smile). I’m also with you on the chocolates and the carmels. But that candy corn! My husband loves them. I’d rather eat rocks (LOL).

Christine - I miss you!! (WAH!!)
Ok, that’s out of my system. Sort of.
Love your candy TT! I LOVE Rockets. I have to have them at Halloween. But chocolate trumps every candy going, for me.

I LOVE Pixie Stix, and Candy Corn, and Chocolate.
Yep I love halloween too!
But you forgot poprocks!
Happy TT!

I love Laffy Taffy, but you can never find it around here. The last time I found it, in a small candy shop in MIchigan, I bought every piece they had!

I love chocolate, and I’d bet I’d like the rest of them, too, if I knew what they tasted like
October 25th, 2007 at 6:49 am
I never knew they were called rockets! I always called them sweettarts, yum, could dine on those forever
And, why has Hershey never made Krackel a full sized bar? I usually pull those out for myself during Halloween. Bad, I know, but it’s a KRACKEL!

I love those Goetze’s caramels with the cream center. Terrible, horrible stuff, but I love them.
October 25th, 2007 at 8:11 am
While as adults, we may not be able to go trick-or-treating anymore.. We get to buy the candy to pass out… and hold back our favorites for ourselves! I won’t be home this year to pass out candy.
So I’m just going to the store the day after to buy up all the candy 1/2 off.

There goes my diet. LOL!

I used to love eating pixie sticks while chewing gum because the sugary contents got mixed in with the gum for a tasty flavour.
October 25th, 2007 at 9:34 am
Hehehe! I still have candy corns around the house. Same thing with chocolate. After diamonds, chocolate is a girl’s best friend.

This is the worst thing about my kids not trick-or-treating anymore–I can’t steal their candy! It’s just not the same if I buy my own. Then I’d have to admit I’m planning on eating it.

This is the first year I don’t have to buy treats for a Halloween party - WAHHH, I hate that my kiddos are getting older.

Pixie Stix–food of the the gods–I tell you! Right behind Chocolate and just before Smarties. With Suckers and Soda right behind them.

Mmmm Candy, Candy, Candy, Candy (in the words of Garfield).

I LOVE pixie sticks as kid! Would grab those first hehe. The “Rocket” candy, I believe it called “Smarties” here. Or maybe am mixing up the name of it here in USA. Those list of candies sure does make me hungry!
My favorite are: Pixie Sticks, smarties, nerds, candy corn and any caramel chocolate
Happy Thursday Thirteen - and Happy Early Halloween!

I looooove Smarties/Rockets! So happy to have a trick-or-treating aged child. I, too, keep back my favorite candy from those who come to the door.
We have to put up a gate around the inside of the front door to keep our dog from mugging the kids as they come to the door–he loves children and is a bit too enthusiastic LOL.
We save any candies not eaten to use on the gingerbread house we make at Christmas.
Happy TT and Happy Halloween!

Oh, man. A sugar high on pixie sticks - memories from my childhood (actually my teen years). I can do without the candy corn, though. And, where is the licorice (red and black)?
Happy TT!
