New TV and Story Plan

Last night was the first night of new TV programming. Yes, I know some started last week, but none of them I watched. Heroes started, and it was…okay. I know they like to start slow and build the action up, but it found last night a bit slow. However, they have Peter and Nathan back in so I’m super happy. I’m not giving up on the show or anything, just hope next week the pace is a bit faster.

I also watched the new show Journeyman. Excellent! Very Quantum Leap ish, which was one of my favourite 80s shows. The acting was good, lots of action, gave me enough information to get me to turn in next week. On my stay list for now.

Tonight…HOUSE!!! I’m so excited about this one starting. Can’t wait to see what they are going to with his character and the ducks.

Yesterday, I made a few decisions about my writing schedule as well. I’m going to write the time traveling Duke’s story for NaNoWriMo this year. I only have one chapter written, and I plan on this being an 85,000 word novel, so I think that’s fair.

Between now and November 1st, I’m going to work on the novella (if for no other reason than to finish that puppy) and then concentrate on the urban paranormal. That one I’m also aiming at an 85,000 word count (or higher), so I really want to take my time planning out the sub plots.

Now that I have a plan I feel like I can get to work once more.

No news on the house front. *sigh*

  • I watched Journeyman last night too! And drew the same conclusion about Quantum Leap. In fact, I was thinking, ‘oh lovely – they mixed QL and The Time Traveller’s Wife together’ but when Olivia (that was her name, right?) showed up about 3/4 of the way through – I was HOOKED!
Very cool premise with the whole love quadrangle thing. I’ll definitely be tuning in again.

And I’m counting the hours until HOUSE :)

  • Darn – missed ‘Journeyman’. I never catch any prime time TV. Can’t wait for your time travelling duke, Christine!

  • I loved Journeyman! I like all the tangled relationships that kind of overlap. And I enjoyed HEroes too, especially when Sark from Alias showed up. I love David Anders. I watched Chuck too, which I hadn’t planned on but it hooked me in the first couple of minutes and I ended up really liking it. I think Monday nights are going to be the big TV night for me.

And I’m joining you in counting the hours until House – can’t wait!!

  • Oh yeah, Sparky. Can’t wait.

  • Sounds like a great plan. Still crossing fingers for your house sweetie. =)

  • Oh, House is back! Yay!!

And! Yay!! on the Duke story. :)

  • Yay! Looks like the Duke story won the vote :)

  • I’m considering Nanoing this year, too. I might have more done than is allowed though, but maybe I can just do my own thing and follow along in spirit. Best of luck!!!

  • You’ve got some ambitious plans. Go for it. I checked out NaNo, but it doesn’t work if you’re part of a team. I’ll be happy to root you on.

And I loved Quantum Leap. There were some really good episodes on that show and it really was such a cool concept.
