Scary Experience and Things To Do

I’m not sure if you know this, but I have very eclectic musical tastes. I’m more of a hard rock girl, but I love artists like Lorena McKennitt and Sarah Brightman as well. Who I’m not really a fan of is Celine Dione.

And then I heard her newest song this morning on the radio… Wow! I’d have to listen to it again to get a feel for whether or not this is a CD I’d want to buy, but it was amazingly different. I guess it pays to keep an open mind.

But I have to admit…I was a little bit scared…

I’ve been trying some different things this week as well. I’m reading a Stuart Woods book, which isn’t my normal reading genre. So far I’m really enjoying this one. I like how he’s built up the political backstory and the mystery. I’m also watching NCIS on DVD. My dad loaned me his copy and told me I had to watch it. Since I love Law & Order and the CSI’s I figured it would be worth a shot. I love it so far! I’m hoping he’ll pick up season two so I can watch it also LOL!

This weekend I plan on finishing my Caveman story, and then will send it off to my wonderfully, beautifully and talented critique partners…I love you guys!! My daughter has two birthday parties to go to this weekend, so that will keep us hopping as well.

So what are you up to this beautiful Friday? What are your plans for the weekend?

  • Oh I love Lorena McKennit and also Enya and Clannad (sp?). There are a few more new age music I like. I have a few of the “Pure Mood” CDs in my collection. I listen to them when I need to relax. :)

Thanks goodness it’s Friday! It’s been a very stressful week. I’ve been working about 10 hours some days. At least today I only have to work 4 hours to complete my 40 hours weekly. Then I’m off to Borders this afternoon. Lots of great books have been released and I want to take advantage of the 25% discount coupons. *wg* Have a great weekend!

  • I am so eager for the weekend. I just want to laze around and read for a few days. Though I’m going on a short trip with the family from Saturday to Tuesday, which will probably be fun. :-) Yey on your Cavemen entry. Looking forward!

  • Yes, on the Celine Dion thing – when I was watching ‘Shallow Grave’ for the first time, in my 30′s, it dawned on me that one of the songs on the soundtrack was by Andy Williams. And I found myself realizing – wow, his voice is beautiful. Then I was scared like you.

I’m going to catch ’3:10 to Yuma’ tonight, and over the weekend I’ll be going over loads of artwork for a special Thursday Thirteen this week. It’s been really fun getting ready for it.

  • I’ve been a big Stuart Woods fan for years! What are you reading??
I actually emailed him once and told him that one or two books per year wasn’t nearly acceptable and urged him to write more.
    His reply was rather amusing!
Having said that, I haven’t enjoyed his latest few… don’t know if my tastes are changing or his writing. Either way – I sill love him!

  • I’ve read Stuart Woods in the past but nothing lately.

I have lots of house stuff to do this weekend. And, I’m keying in 20 pgs of rough draft to send to my CP’s over the week end.

  • See I have eclectic taste in music. That video you sent me about your inspiration for Fallen Angel, I can’t get that song out of my head and it’s not something I would generally listen to but dang I love it. What’s the name again?

I finished Love Thy Neighbor last night so I am doing some tweaking and then I’ll be sending it off to you.

Boo and Sumo are sick, and since I was away last weekend I have housework. I also want to pull up a bit of my nasty living room rug(came with the house when we bought it) and see if there is actually hardwood under there, then I’ll make plans to tear it up and refinish it. I have a feeling that there is because of the age of our house.
