Well everyone, the day will finally be here tomorrow! The Bond That Ties Us is set for release bright and early tomorrow morning from Ellora’s Cave. Am I nervous…damn straight! But here are thirteen things I’ve done to try and keep my mind off of R-Day.
1. Work. Yes, no calling in sick for this trainer. It’s actually a good week for me because I have my customer service class to train. No time to think about the fact my soul will be bared to the world tomorrow.
2. Watch season three of Doctor Who / season one of Torchwood. And reading every damn bit of trivia I can find on the show. Other than Star Trek, Doctor Who is the one sci-fi show I’ve been watching since I was a kid. Has a special place in my heart. Plus I love David Tennent!
3. Write. Okay, so this week hasn’t been so good on the writing front. I did much better last week. Sven will be upset. But I’ve still managed 5000 or so words, so not too bad.
4. Talk. When I’m nervous I talk…a lot. Even more than normal. It’s really quite scary.
5. Haunting the blog world. I’ve been reading so many blogs this week it’s crazy. People I haven’t met before, checking out new places. Every time I start to panic about Bonds, I simply look for a new blog.
6. Promo. Or at least try to promo. It’s all so new to me still.
7. Go to the Ellora’s Cave Coming Soon Page. Sad as this is, I’ve been watching my cover move up the list. The art work is finally up too! Which is good considering it’s releasing TOMORROW!
8. YouTube. I’ve been spending more time than usual on YouTube. I’ve found some very strange things. That will have to be another TT list.
9. Make marks on my calendar. I actually have three locations where I’ve marked the day. I have a white board at work with the countdown number in the corner. I have it circled on my calendar in my cube, and at home. You’d think I know the date already. OCD anyone??
10. Read. I’ve actually have been on a bit of a vampire kick, which is odd because I don’t normally read vampire books. I finished December Quinn’s Blood Will Tell (which totally rocked – go buy it!), Rises the Night by Colleen Gleason (which also totally rocked!) and I’ve just started J.R. Ward’s Dark Lover. Loving Wraith so far.
11. Exercising! I’ve been saying for a while I needed to get back to exercising, and I’ve actually started. Nothing major yet, but I’m going to set up my routine this weekend and start.
12. Trying not to whine. This is hard, because of #4. When I talk a lot it can come dangerously close to whining. My husband usually give me “the look” and I stop.
13. Coming up with a TT list. You’d think this would be easy! I’ve toyed with a few ideas over the past week but couldn’t think of a thing to say. So I did what I normally do – just sat down and wrote.
Happy TT everyone!

You started the JR Ward series, finally!! Just you wait Christine d’Abo — for you WILL get sucked into the Brotherhood, hook, line, sinker. Call me when you finish book 4 and we can together lament the fact that #5 won’t be out for many more months.
Tomorrow’s THE DAY! hee
From here, you’re handling The Day jitters very well. Hang in there and keep on distracting yourself by writing and blog surfing — the promotion’s good for you and the writing will make Sven happy, and then you’ll have more inspiration to write about.
Can’t wait to see the book on the release page!
Ya I blather on to when I’m nervous or spout things that make absolutely no sense. I’m reading JR Ward right now to, but I got the wrong book, drat. I got the last one. Oh well, I’ve done that before with series and it’s usually no problem.
Yay, the big day is almost here! I realized this morning that SMF would technically be available tonight at midnight. I almost passed out.
So excited for you! And this is just the beginning, I’m sure. Anyway, one more sleep until your book comes out. Yay!!
I did several of the same things when my story came out back in June. I checked out the coming soon pages at Samhain at least two to three times a day leading up to my release. I also did a lot of blog hopping.
As for the promotion stuff, I’m new too and it’s hard navigating the muddy waters of promotion. Keep trying and you’ll figure it out. I’m slowly getting there myself.
You won’t be able to sleep tonight, will you? lol
I’m with you there on #3, Sven will not be happy *g*. I hope to get caught up today and tomorrow. Congrats on the release. Yay!
Congrats on the release, hun. I know a lot of these items too well
)
It’s all good, Christine. It’s all good!
Hang in ther. The time is almost here.
5000 words!! Whowee. Glad I don’t have Sven as a trainer. He would be really, really mad at me. Damn girl. You’re good.
WOOO HOOO the release is coming. Got my paypal ready to go.
Bring on the sci-fi lust & love.
Check it out Michelle Cary is TT’ing over at my blog.
Oh and Christine we must do it again some time;) Blog swapping that is.
Have you heard of Bach Flower Rescue Remedy? I use it when I do poetry readings. It’s a homepathic for hysteria and really cuts the edge without any side effect feeling. Most health food stores have it.
You’ll be great! Smile and breath.
Not a huge fan of Dr Who but am loving Torchwood… congrats on the book!
Loved your list….and will look out for your book. congratulations!
Good luck tomorrow! How exciting.
OMG I can’t believe you are just reading JR too. I discovered the Black Dagger Brotherhood after meeting JR in Dallas ( wasn’t there a show about that sometime). I went and brought all four and read them boom, boom boom… eyes are hanging out of sockets here. Now like Wylie am champing at the bit waiting for # 5…. Good luck and all the best for tomorrow.
Congratulations on tomorrow!! You’ll do great, so no need to worry honey!! Relax and ENJOY IT. =) I can’t wait to get my eyes and hands on it myself…
Congratulations on your release tomorrow!!! How exciting!
Don’t forget to enjoy it!!!
And big huge congratulations! Release days are the best!
I am truly excited for you. You reminded me that I have to do a little bit of pimpage, though it wont match Rhia’s standards of pimpage
What a terrific week for you and tomorrow is wonderful…best of luck in the response to your work.
Sometimes I don’t know how I come with TT lists or how others do…I find it quite challenging…and I usually have no idea what I will write about until I start. Weird.
I hope you make it throught the day ok…I suspect tonight might be the hardest time for trying to fall asleep and organize the house. I wonder…maybe you should have a little glass of wine with supper or something…I just imagine after reading your list here today that you are going to be wired for sound tonight.
Much happy and awesome thoughts heading your way, I hope you make a fortune and people love your story!
I’ve finally gotten better about release days. I only blog hopping and play online for half the day instead of all day. I can even work on release days …for short periods of time. ;o)
I’ve been thinking about you and tomorrow’s launch. I’ve got my fingers crossed and I’ll be popping by to get pointers on how to handle the first day. LOL! You’re going to wow them all.
I am so excited and happy for you!!!! Sending good vibes your way. And PS-your cover is hawt!
Congrats! That is so cool =)
And yes, that cover is most hot!
Happy upcoming release day! I’m so excited for you. And I’ve been trying to boot my butt back into exercising, too. Having at least some level of success!
Happy TT, my friend!
Have a great day tomorrow! You’ve had quite a week, but R-day will be worth it!
My TT is about full moon names.
BTW, I didn’t delete your comments, and spam filter didn’t get them.
My host switched servers and in the process lost quite a few of my comments.
Sucks.
Congrats on your release! Wishing you huge success.
Congrats!! what an exciting day for you!! Hope the release goes well.
I had some QT with Youtube myself this morning and found a shitload of hilarious ways to procrastinate.
Hugs!

Tomorrow? Oh boy, Christine! How exciting!! I wish you TONS of sales and FABULOUS reviews! Love the cover, by the way.
I still check out the coming soon page and watch my progress as R day comes closer. Very sad on my part
You’ll love JR Wards books. They rock!
“watching it move up the list at EC” – heh – i do that too – watch your book move up the list.
Good luck! Will have to go over and check out the publisher’s site.
Thank you so much everyone! I tried to do some writing, but it’s just not happening tonight. So me, J.R. Ward’s Dark Lover and a glass of wine are going to hang out.
You’ve all been very supportive of my neurotic self this past little while. I wanted to let you all know how much that means to me.
Cyber HUGS!!
I’m late, sorry.
But woot! Grats!
Do some celebrating tomorrow, k?
