Tagged: 8 Things meme
I’ve been tagged by Shelley for this meme! So here we go…
Here are the rules:
A. Each player lists 8 facts/habits about themselves.
B. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning before those facts/habits are listed.
C. At the end of the post, the player then tags 8 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.
1. I love TV shows that have the characters solving a mystery. When I was younger watching BBC Sherlock Holmes, The Equalizer, Magnum PI were all favourites of mine. Now, I love CIS, Law & Order, House, Criminal Minds, plus a lot more.
2. I was into competitive swimming in my early teens. I was 5′ 10″ when I was 12, so I had a bit of an advantage over the other kids. Plus, I was fast.
3. I can’t stand not doing something. Very rarely will you find me bumming around doing nothing. In fact, I get very antsy if I don’t have 10 things on the go.
4. I used to work for the city recreation department as a camp councilor.
5. I’m apparently very funny. But I’ll only be funny once I’ve gotten to know you because I wouldn’t want to offend anyone…quirky sense of humor.
6. I’ve come to the realization I can teach anything. I don’t even need to know what I’m talking about necessarily, just give me some notes and off I go.
7. I did a lot of acting in university and as a result I have a loud voice. I can project quite far when I need to.
8. And to borrow this one from Shelley, I have a different middle name as well. It’s Alyse. It was supposed to be Elise, but my dad forgot how to spell it when the nurse asked him. In all fairness, he was a bit frazzled.
Now the hard part. If you’ve done this already…cool. I tag: Wylie, Amy, Thomma Lyn, Angela, Sparky, Julia, Kelly, Leah

I used to swim competitively too. Sadly I didn’t have the height advantage so I had to make up for that with speed. I used to race the older boys and even then, i’d give them a head start because I like a challenge!
And you are a good teacher - maybe the acting helped with that too, because you always sound like you know what you’re talking about.

I stuck with volleyball cuz of my height.. tho my school was a small Christian one so there was no swimming.. or tennis or football.. we were pretty limited.
I’ll tackle this one tomorrow!

LOL about Alyse - I’ve heard that a lot. When we named our youngest (Erik) we had to decide whether to spell it with a C or a K, or like a friend who spelled it with both (Erick). My husband decided he liked the K better (which is what I’d been lobbying for - I think it looks stronger) But even though he’s the one who made the final decision, hubby still forgets and spells it with a C. My middle name is Diana - which is common nowadays thanks to Princess Di, but before she came along everyone wanted to add an extra N so it was Dianna, or they’d turn it to Dianne. And we won’t even get to my ‘real’ first name which is never spelled right.

so you are saying, you can snow job, er, I mean teach anyone anything? I have that quirky sense of humor too, but I think its more that I an aquired taste of funny as opposed to not funny.
I did something like this for my TT last week, so I am going to have to pass for now, just because we dont need the whole world to know everything about me.

What productions were you in?

I was never good at sports. I sucked at each one of them. Then again at 5′2″, it’s not like I could do much. *LOL*

I did a bunch, Julia. I played Hecuba in Gwendolyn MacEwen’s version of Trojan Women, I was in Working (musical), a part in Woody Allen’s Play It Again, Sam…and a bunch of other’s I can’t think of right now. It was a blast.

I’m with Tempest. At 5′2″, I was never at any sports advantage. I wasn’t fast, or strong… but loved to swim.
Thanks for the tag. I’ll add it to the meme queue…

Thanks for the tag, I’ve been a blog slump lately.
I’m tall, but not a strong swimmer. THough I love water, I need to be by water etc.,
Alyse is actually a beautiful way to spell that name. I knew when my son was born that my husband would never get it right so I wrote down the name I wanted for a girl and for a boy in full and gave it to the nurse.

Thanks for the tag! Y’all are helping me out of my Blogger’s Block on TN Text Wrestling. And I relate to your #3 — I always have to be doing something. I can’t just sit and watch TV — even if I’m paying some attention to the show, I still have to be blogging, working on notes for a book, etc.

Nice list! I so want to be 5′10”! I always thought that would be the perfect height. (5′5” here).
Very nice list Christine, and thanks for the drop my blog to make sure I was still alive, lol.
Hugs!

I have the same sort of sense of humor you do–you have to know me before I show it.
I just tagged you, but here you’ve already been tagged!

I’m tall, too, and my quirky sense of humor only pops out in my heroines or when I know someone well.

I tagged you for this too so…yay - you’ve already done it! LOL
