Thursday Thirteen #32
Since I’ve been watching House, I’ve realized there are a lot of great shows on TV that I haven’t gotten around to watching yet. So as it seems my husband and I will devour season two of House this week and since season three doesn’t come out until August, I’ll need another show. So this week my Thursday Thirteen list has thirteen shows I’m considering watching. I want to take a vote as to which one you think I should jump on. I’ve listed some that I’ve wanted to see, and some people keep telling me I should see. They are here in no particular order.
1. The Office
2. The Dead Zone
3. Lost
4. Grey’s Anatomy
5. Dead Like Me
6. Deadwood
7. Sex in the City
8. Supernatural
9. 4400
10. Desperate Housewives
11. Smallville
12. Rescue Me
13. Other - I always appreciate suggestions

Hey, Christine! I love SEX AND THE CITY. Fun, sexy, witty! I also love GREY’S ANATOMY. I’d pick any of these two to watch ANY DAY . . . but then I haven’t seen ALL of them!!!!
June 20th, 2007 at 10:15 pm
I’m gonna vote for LOST. As a newcomer to the series, I gotta say: you need to catch up, girl!
June 20th, 2007 at 10:31 pm
My all-time favorite is Ally McBeals
My list is posted on my meme blog… Happy TT!
June 20th, 2007 at 10:35 pm
I started watching Gray’s last year and enjoy it. I really like the music.
The Office is offbeat and enjoyable.
I watched Desperate Housewives the first season and then it just got far-fetched, but to each their own.
I am bummed that they are canceling Studio 60 which I thought was well written.
June 20th, 2007 at 11:02 pm
Brothers & Sisters is awesome! Sunday evenings on ABC.
I watch a lot of the shows that you have listed. I think I did a TT on what I DVR! That was a fun one!
June 20th, 2007 at 11:05 pm
LOST.
June 20th, 2007 at 11:11 pm
THE OFFICE (I have no strong feelings on this subject) All I can say is, if you love exquisite sexual tension buildup, then Jim is your man!!!
June 20th, 2007 at 11:22 pm
I, of course, have to vote for RESCUE ME, being a Denis fangirl.
It’s not a pretty show. Not a fun show. In fact, most of the time, it’s like watching a train wreck.
Yet it’s compelling as heck. There is certainly no lack of character depth, that’s for sure.
June 21st, 2007 at 12:06 am
Well, I watch about at least half of those…the new season of Rescuse me is turning out vey funny and very good. I have a crush on Denis Leary and he is a real dawg in this show. I’m hooked on Lost.
I suggest The Closer actually for you if you’re not already wtching it…a new season just began…how about Nip/Tuck? (same writers)
Grey’s Anatomy is very very good, but some of the characters are unlikeable…but still I keep watching!
June 21st, 2007 at 12:12 am
I’m a HUGE fan of SEX AND THE CITY - my hubby bought me the deluxe gift set of all the seasons last year and I watched them all through the Christmas holidays. Grey’s Anatomy has me hooked too.
June 21st, 2007 at 12:25 am
I love The Office, Lost, and Sex and The City. But the best series on TV, hands down, is Battlestar Galactica. Not just sci-fi. Great writing!
June 21st, 2007 at 1:11 am
Hmmm… well, 3, 4, 7, and 12 are all pretty good IMO. I’ve never watched any of the others.
As for suggestions, I also love Prison Break, Bones, and Nip/Tuck.
June 21st, 2007 at 1:26 am
I vote… DEXTER! When it comes back on, that is.
Happy TT, and thanks for visiting my blog!
June 21st, 2007 at 7:08 am
Lost is the only one on the list that I watch. LOL I’m not a big TV watcher–unless it’s home improvement shows. *g*
I do recommend Jericho though, and I like Ghost Whisperer too.
June 21st, 2007 at 7:27 am
I love Lost, Desperate House Wives, Grey’s Anatomy and 4400 on your list. I would add Ugly Betty and Heroes.
I love House too but have only seen a half dozen episodes since I got involved well into the second season and was lost. so i opted to wait for syndication when reruns would be available.
my tt this week is about my first visit to a book store in five years
June 21st, 2007 at 7:33 am
Ooo, The Closer! Seeing Brenda Lee Jackson’s sugar addiction always makes me laugh - sympatico
June 21st, 2007 at 7:34 am
Some of those are on my list to catch up on - Lost and Rescue Me.
Grey’s Anatomy is good. I think I’d give Desperate Housewives a skip.
How about Without A Trace? Love the characters, love the show. And they’re putting it back on Thursday night next season so I don’t have to scurrying around trying to find it.
And you know how I feel about Gilmore Girls.
June 21st, 2007 at 7:52 am
From your list I’d suggest Lost and Grey’s Anatomy - but will definitely add Dexter - it’s very dark, and disturbing but riveting, though I can’t watch more than 1 episode before needing to see lighter stuff. Also The Closer is excellent. And if you haven’t seen Six Feet Under that’s a definite must!
June 21st, 2007 at 8:31 am
I like “Dead Like Me.” I also liked “Dresden Files,” “Blood Ties,” “HEX,” and “Dead Zone.”
June 21st, 2007 at 8:32 am
I vote for: 1,2,3,9,10 & 11.. and Blood Ties when it finally airs up there.
June 21st, 2007 at 8:54 am
Dead Zone and The 4400 are decent shows - I usually catch them.
June 21st, 2007 at 9:31 am
I love House. He is soooo evil and yet so real. I dont know how they do it. Brilliant writing.
I like Ghost Whisperer and Numbers. Friday night is the only night I get to watch tv.
Although I am using my kids as an excuse to watch America’s Most Talented & So You Think You Can Dance (fliping between stations)
June 21st, 2007 at 9:36 am
You’ve never seen SEX IN THE CITY!! Oooh that’s a great one, The Office is hilarious (I now own Season 1 and Two, anxiously awaiting for 3 on DVD and 4th to come back in the fall). May I recommend the Trailer Park Boys, honestly, I didn’t think I would like it, but you really get wrapped up in the characters. It’s hard to turn away once your in. I love it.
June 21st, 2007 at 9:48 am
I love Sex in the City!!! I cried when it went off the air:(
June 21st, 2007 at 9:57 am
You’ve got all my faves on there already.
Smallville and House — the occasional Grey’s. I used to watch Dead Zone, Lost, and 4400, but I can only stand things to be dragged out for so long.
June 21st, 2007 at 10:04 am
You’ve got to go with Lost! I love it! It’s an awesome show!
June 21st, 2007 at 10:11 am
The only two on the list I’ve seen are Desperate Housewives and Smallville, and I enjoyed them both. My daughter keeps telling me I MUST watch Lost–and Oprah says Grey’s Anatomy is where it’s at.
June 21st, 2007 at 10:16 am
ok you need some testosterone around here so I vote for Grey’s, The Office and rescue me. Tonight, there is an office marathon, so you could set the DVR and do some catching up. I liked sex in the city, but since it and Deadwood are off the air now, you can take your time catching up
June 21st, 2007 at 10:22 am
I think Grey’s anatomy is the only one I’ve seen. lol
June 21st, 2007 at 10:37 am
Great TT. I have a lot of catching up to do on TV this summer too!
June 21st, 2007 at 10:38 am
Have you seen Carnivale?
June 21st, 2007 at 11:03 am
LOST is great! So is 24, Smallville (I missed the last two seasons, so I’ll have to rent them), and Veronica Mars. I had heard so much about the last show and did not want to get into a “teeny-bopper” series, but I rented them against my better judgment.
Loved them! Now, I am so bummed because it was dropped this season. It just did not get much viewers because it was on the WB.
June 21st, 2007 at 11:08 am
Hmm. I don’t watch a single one of those. Can’t be much help except to suggest that you take the off-season to get a hold of any back episodes so you know who’s who and what’s what.
Glad to see you drop by today! Happy TT!
June 21st, 2007 at 11:13 am
I’m a BIG Rescue Me fan!
Great list. Happy TT!
June 21st, 2007 at 11:18 am
Dang, the only one I’ve watched is House. The DH says to tell you Deadwood though.
Have a good TT day.
June 21st, 2007 at 11:42 am
The only one of those I’ve seen is Lost, and only the first 2 seasons of that. Those were pretty good, though.
June 21st, 2007 at 12:17 pm
I vote for Lost. We watched Seasons 1 and 2 on dvd before Season 3 came on. We were hooked right away.
Another one if you like Denis Leary is The Job. It was well-received, but was cancelled after only one or two seasons. It’s been released on dvd though and worth checking out.
June 21st, 2007 at 12:18 pm
I’d go for 4400 first and then Smallville, but most of these are worth watching.
Thanks for visiting my Litha TT and Happy Solstice!
June 21st, 2007 at 12:24 pm
I like Veronica Mars. If Buffy had never ended I would be in heaven.
Happy TT, please come visit me!
June 21st, 2007 at 1:12 pm
I LOVE the Office, but not everyone ‘gets it’. It’s a great show though. And you can’t go wrong with Sex in the City. Love Sex in the City!
June 21st, 2007 at 2:56 pm
I have seen : “Lost”, “Sex in the City”, “Desperate Housewives” and I love them! Highly recommend you to watch them
I seen a few episodes of “Supernational”, but didn’t watch the rest. Not because it wasn’t good, but because there other shows clash in at same time Supernational come on. And I’m just starting out watching “Grey Antanomy” and love the first 5 episodes from season 1 so far. And I’m also starting on watching the first season of “Numb3rs” and “Bones”
I have anothe suggestion, I think you should watch “Brothers and Sisters”. It is a funny drama show about a family who very close knit and try to keep it together in their life, after the death of their father(husband). I love the family…and I think you would too
Happy TTs! Have a good day

June 21st, 2007 at 3:09 pm
The two shows I try to watch regularly are Blood Ties and The Dresden Files (when they aren’t on at the same time), but Monk is another great show. Happy TT (and first day of Summer)!
June 21st, 2007 at 4:09 pm
I love Supernatura. It’s one of my favorites and the season is almost done here in NZ. I also second the recommendation for the Closer. It’s a great show with a good female lead.
June 21st, 2007 at 4:48 pm
Army Wives or Studio 60 would be my suggestion.
I’ve fallen out of love with Grey’s Anatomy so can’t help you there.
June 21st, 2007 at 6:26 pm
Megan is all about Supernatural to the point where i bought the first series on DVD - so that has my vote! My sis won’t loan me her Sex in the City DVDs so i still haven’t seen that show. Yeah - freak of nature, that’s me.
June 21st, 2007 at 6:27 pm
Wow thank you everyone for all the suggestions! There is a lot of good TV out there, and I know I’m behind. I love the fact I can buy a lot of these on DVD now and get caught up. The only downside…I’m not writing!
I love 24, Battlestar Galatica, and the Dresden Files. I can’t wait for them to all come back on. In September I’ll be watching House and the new Bionic Woman show for sure.
June 21st, 2007 at 6:39 pm
Wow - I don’t watch any of those shows! LOL But then I don’t watch a lot of tv. Between the kids, volunteer stuff, editing, reviewing, and my own writing I barely have time to blink.
June 21st, 2007 at 9:33 pm
Ohmigosh, you’ve never seen Sex and the City??? I’ll vote for that one, unless you haven’t seen Alias. Or NCIS.
June 22nd, 2007 at 1:50 am
Oh, I love House! I would also recommend The Office, Bones, The Closer (which has started its 3rd season on TNT—Monday nights at 9pm), and 24. Oh, and JAG.
Love them all!
June 22nd, 2007 at 9:48 am
I like Bones, NCIS, Without a Trace. I haven’t seen too many on your list, but I do like House.
June 22nd, 2007 at 10:29 am
You must watch Sex & the City - it’s the best!
June 23rd, 2007 at 1:59 am
The Office is good but not as good as the BBC original.
