Goals - Happy Father’s Day!

First off I want to say Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there. This morning, my DH got breakfast in bed and got to open his presents from me and the girls. He is now the proud owner of a homemade place mat, a poem, and a new espresso bean grinder!

I did fairly well with me writing this week…just not on the story I was hoping for. I wanted to work on my Brava novella, but it didn’t work out. I am having a major block with the story and needed to take a step back. So instead I wrote two chapters in a erotic fantasy I’m working on. I really love this story and it helped get me out of my writing jam. Plus it’s really hot. ;)

This week I also got back into some TV. I bought season one and two of House from Costco and so far my husband and I have watched the first disk. Not bad considering I got it Friday. :) So far I’m really enjoying it. Hugh Laurie is awesome in the role, and the supporting cast is excellent. We’re now past the “let’s set the premise and pattern for the show” episodes and are starting to get into the meat. I can’t wait until they start expanding the characters more.

So, my writing goals this week are to:

  • Write a chapter in the erotic fantasy book
  • Try to write a chapter in the Brava story

I really want to start to make some headway with the Brava one so it will be ready for August 1. I may need a consult call on the plot. ;)

What are you up to this week?

Glad you had a lovely Father’s Day!

Writing-wise, I’m focusing this week on a character that’s been rather nebulous in my first draft. He’s got to be a match for my main character, and for the villain, so I need to get to know him a little better. I’ve already got scenes developing with him, so he needs to be front and center. You’ll never know how helpful your list of questions has been for me!

Julia I’m so glad they helped you! I need to polish that workshop and take it on the road. :)

Hey sweetie, happy father’s day to your loved ones!!!

Great writing done. This week I want to finish a Quickie for the Jewel of the Niles series. It sort of popped up unanounced and coming out nicely…I’m giving the horny vamps a time out. LOL! I plan to get back to it this week as well and resolve tiny plot point problems. And get some critiquing on that.

And hey, if you need me I’m here for you!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’ll try not to get too excited like last time, LOL!

I’m here for the consultation if needed. This weekend I am happy I got a bunch of homework for my perfect pitch class. This weekend was all about family and playing with the kids outside. I’m toasty to say the least! :) This week I need to get 5k done and I’ve got Dragon Naturally Speaking, woohoo, wireless dictation while I’m doing dinner. My neighbors are gonna think I’m talking to myself. :P

I like that you have writing goals for the week–maybe I need to do that. I’m still going with my 100 words a day, but sometimes that’s all I get.

Red, I want to do a Quick for the Jewel of the Nile series too. I still have some time to get my head around that though.

Amy, I might take you up on that. I’m going to sit down this week and actually (gasp) plot the book. Not too intensive, but at least a chapter by chapter. It should give me the kick start I need.

Alyssa, I set a goal that I know I can meet, but yet will keep me going. I’m a “work well under pressure” girl, so it really helps me. But its not for everyone.
