I think is the first time this has happened to me, but I didn’t even come close to meeting my goals this week. I’m not sure why, but I didn’t get much accomplished. So I need to take a step back, take a deepĀ breath and get ready for this coming week.
My parents were here this weekend (which rocked!) and we went to see Spiderman 3 in the IMAX. I liked the movie, especially the parts with Venom and Sandman (effects were amazing). I found there was a bit too much with the love story…yes I know how weird that sounds coming from a romance writer…but I didn’t think it was very romantic. Young angst is too…angsty. I’d give it a 7 out of 10.
Anyway, back to my goals. I was having major issues with my story I’m planning to send to the Brava contest. I figured out what was wrong (started it totally in the wrong spot) and can now sit down to get it done. So I’m going to keep my goals simple this week:
- Write first two chapters of Brava story (really do it this time)
With both my girls now playing soccer my week is filling up. At least this way I’ll take my laptop to practice and maybe I’ll get some work done. And cheer!
THis is the last week of school for my kids and I can’t wait. They seem to have something everyday. I’m not much of one for goals but I think the simpler they are, the better.
Good luck!
That’s why I love laptops. I screwed the pooch on the tattoo, well, my cousin chickened out, but I will get one. I’ll have to take my friend from work that got one already. I still had a wild weekend, and I have to think of a great post, but for now, back to work. I have a book to finish!
No more THE OFFICE or Trailer Park Boys for me.
Glad you liked “Spiderman 3″. I liked their relationship woes - I thought they were really dishing it out to one another. And Sandman helped me figure out a character/plot problem for my vampire story.
Goal for this week - plow ahead into new territory. I’ve been hard at revisions for awhile now, so doing some fresh stuff feels exhilarating. I’m cruising toward the finish. Finally!
Good luck with those chapters! I haven’t seen Spidey 3 yet. Just saw PotC and LOVED it. Although I didn’t find it nearly as funny as the second. But awesome, none the less. That Johnny Depp…
I saw Spidey, and boy was I glad I brought my daughter because she had to hold me when Harry you-know-whatted (no spoiler lol) What a good thing she doesn’t embarrass easily.
But speaking of goals, I’d better drag my butt back to work.
Emma I know what you mean!! I balled.
