Thursday Thirteen #30

Thirteen Random Thoughts
1. I really can’t wait for 300 to come out on DVD. I saw it on an IMAX screen and was completely blown away. I want to see it again! Now please. :D

2. I’ve just bought Colleen Gleason’s Rises The Night. I’m not going to get to read it until tomorrow night or until I do everything I need to do. I know once I start it I won’t stop. ;)

3. I need a TV show to watch this summer. There are so many out there to get caught up on, but I haven’t had any desire to watch anything the last little while. House and Dead Zone are on the top of my list though.

4. I’ve noticed I’m hungrier now that I’m not drinking tea/coffee anymore. Usually I want to eat bad things. I think I need to go on a diet.

5. The weather has been murder on my head this week. I’m not as bad as some people I know, but the pressure has given me some killer headaches. The weather seems to have let up a bit tonight and the sun is out.

6. I need to mow the lawn. My husband is going to do some of it tomorrow, but I really should help. I like to mow the lawn but he has more time in the day than I do.

7. My parents are coming to visit this weekend! I’m really excited to see them even if it’s only for a few days. We might go see Spiderman 3 in the IMAX. Mom hasn’t gone to one yet and Dad really wants to take her. I just want popcorn…

8. We need to pay someone to come fill up our pool. With the weather starting to get nice, I want to get in and go swimming!

9. I read an article online today about what parents need to do to keep their kids safe around pools and prevent drowning. It scared the crap out of me. I felt the urge to bubble wrap my kids.

10. There is cat hair everywhere in my house. She’s shedding with all the nice warm weather. I need to do a major cleaning before my mom comes. She’s allergic and will be really filled up if I don’t.

11. I hate cleaning. But I love my mom.

12. 42 Days…

13. I love TT! I’m going to go bounce around sites now meeting new people. :D

    I can’t believe I’m first on your T13! Usually I’m like 50-something!

Have a great time with your parents, eat your popcorn, read your book, watch your kids! ;)

  2. 2 Jen

Spiderman3 was awesome, should be great in an imax. Did you know that guys like to mow the lawn? At least that’s what my husband says, gives him time to think. So let your husband mow, open up a book and read!

  3. 3 Di

RE#9…be sure to leave air holes in the bubble wrap…it would be terrible to go to all that trouble to bubble wrap them and then have them suffocate!

  4. 4 amy

I random thought lists..This was great

  5. 5 Joely

    I can’t *wait* for 300!!

  6. 6 Thomma Lyn

HEE! I hear ya on the cat hair — hubby and I have four cats, and let’s just say we could create a fifth cat from all the hair that’s lying around here, LOL. Our lint roller is well-used!

Great TT, and enjoy your visit with your parents!

  7. 7 Janet

I just started Colleen’s book today!

  8. 8 Toni

I love House! He is such a jerk! Mine is up at Special K Family

  9. 9 Susan Helene Gottfried

I still need to read Colleen’s first. I’m trying to finish this other book before I start it, but it’s slow going. A good book, but it hasn’t sucked me in the way it needs to.

Happy TT and have fun with your mom!

  10. 10 Jennifer McKenzie

LOL. I was laughing at the lawn mowing one. I’ve been blogging about my lawn.
    I love Dead Zone. AWESOME.

  11. 11 palmtreefanatic

What a great list and great idea for thursday thirteen!
    love it!

  12. 12 MamaLee

You got cat hair - I got the dog hair!

  13. 13 dew

You’re so thoughtful of your mother. I suffer from allergies too, so I know how much she’ll appreciate your effort!

  14. 14 Gina Ardito

I’ve got two cats and a Labrador. I could knit new animals from the hair that piles up on a daily basis! Good luck with the cleaning and kiss your mom!

  15. 15 Wylie

I love these ‘random thought’ topics. Makes me feel like I’m looking into someone’s brain. Maybe that’s why I love first person/stream-of-conscious narratives.

  16. 16 Samantha Lucas

OMG I’ve spawned new cats out of the cat hair around here. lol

  17. 17 Domestic Geek

When you gave up coffee/tea, did you replace it with water? More water will make you feel full. I can’t wait for Dead Zone to start back up. I miss it.

  18. 18 L-Squared

Hehe.. I love randome TT’s! I don’t have any cat hair around here, but from all the dog fur coating everything you’d swear I had 10 dogs instead of just 2.

  19. 19 Lisa (qtpies7)

Have fun with your parents! Spiderman in the IMAX would be awesome!

  20. 20 Rene

I won’t have a pool. I have small kids and I just don’t want to take the chance. We do have an inground spa and hubby built a wrought iron fence with a locked gate (the fence is 5 feet high). Besides, my parents and inlaws both have pools, so it works out okay.

If I touched my husband’s lawn mowers (yes, plural) he’d have a coronary.

  21. 21 Gabriella Hewitt

You gave up coffee and tea! Why? I’m not sure I could survive without my cup of java. It could actually get ugly. ;-)

Happy TT and thanks for stopping by.

  22. 22 Tink

I just ordered Rises The Night too, I’m so looking forward!
Thanks for visiting my Google TT.

  23. 23 Darla

Oh, articles on child safety will make you nuts. Generally speaking, common sense is all that’s needed, but who’s going to read an article that says that? ;)

  24. 24 Anne

Christine, try Beaverbank water for your pool - they’re reasonably priced. I always think of mowing the lawn as a workout, saves going to the gym.

Hope you have a great time with your visitors this weekend.

  25. 25 Elle Fredrix

I can totally sympathize/empathize with number 5. Take care!

  26. 26 Lesley Speller

I know what you mean about coffee keeping you from getting hungry! I never realized it was such an appetite killer. That makes it my new best friend. Hmm…I wonder if the weather is why I’ve been having headaches every day this week!

  27. 27 Miss Frou Frou

Ooh… watching Spidey 3 on IMAX would make me dizzy. I’m going to see Pirates of the Caribbean 3… though I don’t know why now, as someone today kindly told me the ending… so I get to watch 2.45 hours knowing what’s to come!

  28. 28 Slick

I wish I read this yesterday because, like an idiot, I walked into Blockbuster and asked if they had the 300 movie.

I thought it would be out by now for sure.

  29. 29 Emma Petersen

I won’t tell you how many times I watched 300. LOL! Let’s just say I can quote it. OMG. Is that why Toussaint is shedding? Because summers coming? I took him outside the other day and gave him a really good brushing!

Good luck with the lawn and house cleaning. Moms rock! Happy Thursday 13!

  30. 30 SciFiChick

I thought you watched the Stargates? Those are still on this summer…

  31. 31 Tempest Knight

I can’t wait to get my copy of Colleen Gleason’s latest book. :) I’m skipping work in the morning to go to Borders and see if they brought it.

  32. 32 Daisy Dexter Dobbs

“I felt the urge to bubble wrap my kids.”

What great imagery, Christine! I remember feeling the same way when my daughter was growing up. Wonderful TT! :-D

  33. 33 Lori

    Dont you love random thoughts….

  34. 34 Rhonda Stapleton

NICE LIST! Oh, and I sooooo need to get a copy of that Colleen Gleason book. :D

  35. 35 N.J. Walters

Great idea for a Thursday Thirteen. :-)

  36. 36 julia

I like your burning desire to go to the show - ‘I just want popcorn…’

I’m with you on the “300″ countdown (taps fingers impatiently.)

And ‘42′ - can’t wait for that, either!

  37. 37 Red

    I NEED to see 300 - which I haven’t.

I NEED to see Shrek 3, too.

I guess what I NEED is to get my head out of the WIP! =)

  38. 38 Amy Ruttan

The Office is a great show to see! I’m gonna email you an amazing link!

You have a pool, I am so jealous. And ya, I read stuff happening to kids and I totally have an anxiety attack.

  39. 39 Debbie Mumford

Great list. Random thoughts, huh? I might have to try that one!

  40. 40 samulli

Good luck with trying to get the cat hairs cleaned up. If they are anything like my dogs hair (and actually I think cats hair is even worse) you’re gonna have hours of fun before you. :o)
I’m envious of your pool now. All we have is a garden pond that is too small for swimming and too awkwardly situated to even put your feet in it. And it’s really really hot here. Can’t wait for summer to be over, I tell you. ;o)

  41. 41 Crystal Jordan

    Have fun mowing the lawn!

  42. 42 Ann(ie)

    I don’t have a lawn to mow.

  43. 43 Emma Wayne Porter

When does the Closer start? Isn’t it like June 21st?

  44. 44 Robin L. Rotham

I’ve never been to an IMAX — that’s something I’d really like to take the kids to this summer. Hmm…

And I didn’t realize you had to pay someone to come and fill your pool. Silly me, I thought you just plopped in the garden hose and let it run for a week. :D

  45. 45 Sparky Duck

    TV=The Closer
Sunshine drives my allergies batty so I can’t decide which I want more, nice weather or not.
Summer hair does equal alot more vacuuming

  46. 46 Julia

I too can not wait for 300 to come out!

Hmmmm summer TV to watch, well…if you have not been able to watch any shows that you missed the first times when it first aired, that is when Netflix come in handy. Easy way to catch up. And that what I’m doing this summer. I have Grey Antonmy and Numb3rs on my queue list :) I don’t know if Netflix is available in Cananda, but if there one, try it. You won’t regret it. I love Netflix!

Summer TV - There is realty show call “So You Think You Can Dance”, that just doing it second season this summer. It is produce my same man who did “Amerian Idols”. Not sure if you’re big fan of reality TV show, but when you have the time out of your writing books…try to watch it.

Also there is a new TV show call “The Traveler”, very suspense, action show about two guys is wanted by police because they believe the guys bombed a building. But the third boy is missing and no one believe the two guys that the third existed.

Interesting TT, Christine! Happy Thursday Thirteen!

  47. 47 rhian

wahoo - being in your head is like being in mine - all kinds of tangety goodness! I just saw previews for 300 again the other night and am eagerly awaiting the chance to see it on DVD.

  48. 48 R.G. Alexander

I cant wait until 300 is on DVD-then I’ll get to see it!

  49. 49 Heather

I hear you on the cat hair. My kitty’s part persian so we find it everywhere!

  50. 50 Barb

You got me to thinking! I don’t have a cat, but I do have 2 young grandsons this week (probably every week this summer during the week) and I need to really clean house - mostly mop my laundry and kitchen.

    Great list. Check mine out.

  51. 51 spyscribbler

I love doing the lawn! Very relaxing!

I hate, however, cleaning. Hate it, hate it, hate it. Luckily, DH prefers to clean the kitchen than to mow the lawn!

Happy TT! I hope you have a wonderful time with your mom!

  52. 52 christine

Wow I couldn’t check my blog this afternoon and look at you all! Thanks to everyone for stopping by.

Robin, we are on a well and we actually had issues earlier this week with it so we don’t dare use the hose to fill it. Which sucks because I hate having to pay someone for water. :(

As for TV, I just haven’t sat down in front of it. I’m not feeling so hot tonight so I think I’ll check out some shows. Maybe the Office since I need a giggle. :D

  53. 53 Shari

I’m going to see my mom this weekend, too!

  54. 54 Ann

I’m with you there on the cat hair. Fortunately I don’t have a lawn to mow, as I think that’s one of my new allergies. Happy TT. :)

  55. 55 Christine

With our toddler, I sometimes feel so overprotective, I want to keep her in bubble wrap all the time. The world just seems like such a scary place at times. Thanks for stopping by my TT. Have a great weekend, XINE

  56. 56 Starrlight

    Great TT!

  57. 57 December Quinn/Stacia Kane

I can’t wait to get hold of Rises the Night–I have to wait for Amazon to get it across the stupid ocean!

  58. 58 annette

I hear you about the summer tv season. I’m trying to get into that new pirate/survivor one, but it’s slow going. lol Probably because I keep wanting them to mutiny and they won’t.

Have fun with your parents. And glad to know I’m not the only person battling cat hair. :-)

  59. 59 Michelle M Pillow

Waiting for 300, too. Thankfully it looks like a lot of good movies will be coming out soon!
