Vacation and a treat

Well, I’m going to be away for the next few days. I won’t even be thinking about my computer, but I’ll be sure to take lots of pictures to share when I get back. Also, check the post below this one regarding some help that Colleen Gleason needs about giving away a free book!

I thought I’d leave you with an excerpt from The Bond That Ties Us, which will be released in 22 days!!

Happy Canada Day weekend!

“Are you okay?” She said the words against his ear.
“It happens like this…before we…I’m fine.”
He licked up the side of her neck, tasting her salty skin. Better than the finest food.
“Before we what?” Haylie gasped and tilted her head back.
“Before we mate. If the female rejects the male, he dies.”
Her lips moved everywhere. Against his cheek. Kissing his jaw line. Making their way to his ear, she circled the ridge. He sighed, clutching her shoulders when she began to suckle the lobe.
     “I need you.”
Haylie’s soft words in his ear elicited a dark, almost primal response from him. Kamran pulled her back, her face finally coming into focus. Her long brown hair covered her shoulders and back like a veil. She stared up at him with the most amazing green eyes. They were the color of the Briel countryside after the planting rains.
Her face was flushed, the color traveling down her neck and disappearing under a soft, smooth shirt. He had to know how far down that blush went. Kamran took the tip of his finger and hooked it on her neckline. Tugging her shirt down, he now had access to the tops of her breasts. The blush continued lower, tempting him to continue his exploration. Bending his head down, Kamran placed a single kiss in the top of her cleavage. She smelled like sex, the promise of pleasure.
She pulled his head up and crushed her lips against his again, driving her tongue deep into his mouth, teasing as it went. He lapped at her, tasting her sweetness. His cock tightened and pulsed as her lips demanded more from him. Kamran, in turn, slid his hand under her shirt, brushing his fingers against the side of her breast and across her waist before reaching the smooth hollow of her back.

Her sigh told him she enjoyed the sensation and he fleetingly wondered if all Briel males instinctively knew where their mates liked to be touched. Kamran moved his mouth along her cheek to her neck. His tongue licked as he kissed her. Her heartbeat quickened under his lips and she drove her hands into his hair.
     “Please, don’t stop.”
Her plea pushed Kamran to the edge of his control. Reclaiming her lips with his, he slipped his tongue deep into her mouth needing to taste her. Haylie’s fingers were cool against his heated skin. His heart pounded as wildly as hers. She ran her hands over the tunic that covered his chest, sliding them down the length of his sides to tug on the hem.
     “Take this off.”
Kamran obediently stood. He watched her eyes widen as he reached his full height. He knew his size wasn’t as impressive as some of his race, but she seemed pleased. He yanked the tunic off and was rewarded with a sigh from Haylie.
     “Just like I pictured you.”
The unexpected incapacitation he’d experienced minutes earlier was gone. In its place was blinding arousal. This was what his brother spoke of. When she rose to her knees and ran her fingers over his stomach, Kamran thought he’d died. His cock was straining painfully against his pants as she pressed her cheek against it. He wanted her to free him, take his shaft in her mouth so he could feel her wicked tongue on him. A groan exploded from him and the sound echoed in the hall.
They both froze, realizing at the same time where they were.
“Oh my god,” Haylie said with a shaken voice.

Is there a Meghan in the house?

Hello everyone! It seems my good friend Colleen Gleason has a bit of a problem on her hands. She signed a book for Meghan – a very lovely lady by all accounts. Except for the fact that wasn’t how she spelled her name.

So…if your name is Meghan (or you know any Meghan’s) and you’d like an autographed copy of Rises the Night (which kicks ass!!), please stop on by Colleen’s blog and let her know. I think she’d be more than happy to pass it along.

Thursday Thirteen #33

This weekend I’m going away camping with my family. We will be heading to Prince Edward Island for four days of fun and excitement. I hope to have some pictures to share when I get back. Before I go though, I have a pile of things I need to get done. :)

For this week’s  list, I thought I’d post some fun things you can do on PEI. I got this off their touism site. Enjoy!

1. Anne of Green Gables The Musical , at Confederation Center of the Arts. See one of the best musicals ever put on stage, the famous musical Anne of Green Gables. It is a must see family classic.

2. Avonlea Village , Avonlea Village, in Cavendish. This is a good spot to visit if you are familiar with  ”Anne of Green Gables” or any of Lucy Maud Montgomery’s books. This village takes you back to Lucy Maud Montgomery’s homeland where she grew up.

3. Charlottetown Mall. S hopping on PEI can save you money. Since there is no provincial tax on most types of clothing and footwear, everyone benefits from the 10% savings on those commodities.

4. Woodleigh Replicas & Gardens , in Kensington. Explore 30 replicas of the most spectacular castles and cathedrals of the British Isles, set among rolling hills and gardens

5. Ripleys Believe it or Not! , in Cavendish. There are only two of these museums in Canada!

6. Bike the Confederation Tail. What better than a great vacation the length of PEI that can be as expensive or inexpensive as you wish. Bike from one tip of Prince Edward Island to the other.

7. Outside Expeditions, North Rustico. Get outside and enjoy some sea kayaking or go take a ride in a canoe.

8. Pottery Hunt, There’s something about sea air that inspires artisans and PEI has no shortage of quality potters

9. Greenwich, Prince Edward Island National Park Parks Canada protects a rare system of parabolic sand dunes and sites of early Aboriginal and Acadian occupation dating back 10,000 years.

10. College of Piping and Celtic Performing Arts of Canada, Summerside 100% Authentic-Heartfelt Celtic! A summer long Celtic Festival set amongst an institution, that inspires “excellence in Celtic performing arts through quality educational programming.”

11. North Cape, Home to a host of attractions. View the longest natural rock reef, walk the Black Marsh Nature Trail, visit the Atlantic Wind Test Site and see the North Cape Wind farm.

12. Sliver Bush Farms, Also known as the Anne of Green Gables Museum at Park Corner, this farm house is owned and lived in by George Campbell and his sister who are great-grandchildren of L.M.

13. Green Gables Original Site, The farm house preserved on the property was the home of Montgomery’s relatives and is apparently the inspiration for Green Gables of novel fame. The surrounding forest is the haunted woods that inspired Anne’s imagination.

Another meme

A few people tagged me for the birthday meme, so I thought I’d do it today.

Go to Wikipedia. Type in your birthday (only month and day) and write down 3 events, 2 births and 1 holiday then tag 5 people.

My birthday is August 28th.

Events:

 Births:

 Holiday:

Seeing as I just tagged a bunch of people yesterday, I’ll leave this one open. If you’d like to do it, please let me know so I can stop by for a visit to see. :)

Tagged: 8 Things meme

I’ve been tagged by Shelley for this meme! So here we go…

Here are the rules:
A. Each player lists 8 facts/habits about themselves.
B. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning before those facts/habits are listed.
C. At the end of the post, the player then tags 8 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.

1. I love TV shows that have the characters solving a mystery. When I was younger watching BBC Sherlock Holmes, The Equalizer, Magnum PI were all favourites of mine. Now, I love CIS, Law & Order, House, Criminal Minds, plus a lot more. :D

2. I was into competitive swimming in my early teens. I was 5′ 10″ when I was 12, so I had a bit of an advantage over the other kids. Plus, I was fast.

3. I can’t stand not doing something. Very rarely will you find me bumming around doing nothing. In fact, I get very antsy if I don’t have 10 things on the go.

4. I used to work for the city recreation department as a camp councilor.

5. I’m apparently very funny. But I’ll only be funny once I’ve gotten to know you because I wouldn’t want to offend anyone…quirky sense of humor.

6. I’ve come to the realization I can teach anything. I don’t even need to know what I’m talking about necessarily, just give me some notes and off I go.

7. I did a lot of acting in university and as a result I have a loud voice. I can project quite far when I need to.

8. And to borrow this one from Shelley, I have a different middle name as well. It’s Alyse. It was supposed to be Elise, but my dad forgot how to spell it when the nurse asked him. In all fairness, he was a bit frazzled. :)

Now the hard part. If you’ve done this already…cool. I tag: Wylie, Amy, Thomma Lyn, Angela, Sparky, Julia, Kelly, Leah

Goals!

What a week! I’ve survived a birthday party, anniversary supper, and four soccer practices. I have to go to another practice shortly, but wanted to post this first. :)

I finished another chapter in my wizard’s story. I just introduced a character who is going to be a hero in a follow-up story. So I’ll continue to work away at this one, especially since I’m really getting into the meat of the plot now. I didn’t know where this was going to go at first, but now things are starting to fall into place. I’m really excited about this one…

So my goals for next week are:

  • write another chapter of the wizard’s story
  • work on promotions for The Bond That Ties Us (OMG 25 days!!!)
  • wait for edits on Chasing Phoenix – do them if they come in

Of course I also plan on finishing season two of House this week. I’ll actually be glad to be done it, just so I can focus on writing again!

Coming Soon Page!

I just snuck a quick peek at the Ellora’s Cave coming soon page. The Bond That Ties Us is there! I just squeaked it! They don’t have the cover up art yet, but I hope it’s there soon.

 I’m so exctied!!!!

Busy Weekend

The title says it all. Today is my wedding anniversary – my husband and I have been married for 11 years today (we’ve been together for 18 – and no I’m not that old!). We wanted to celebrate tonight, but we can’t because of our oldest daughter’s soccer game. Instead, we are going to supper tomorrow night. Tomorrow is also when we’re having the birthday party for my youngest. Sunday will be calm for the most part except for one soccer game at supper.

Busy, busy, busy.

I’m about half way through my chapter for my current WIP. I might get to finish it on Sunday. I’d really like to do that. My h/h are in a very passionate moment just waiting for me to finish. Poor dears.

I want to thank everyone for all your suggestions for which show I should watch after I’m done House. We’ve finished one disk of season two already and managed a few episodes on the next disk. I have a feeling it won’t take us long to finish. Then I just need to wait until August for season three.

What is everyone up to this weekend?

Thursday Thirteen #32

thursdaybanner22.gif

Since I’ve been watching House, I’ve realized there are a lot of great shows on TV that I haven’t gotten around to watching yet. So as it seems my husband and I will devour season two of House this week and since season three doesn’t come out until August, I’ll need another show. So this week my Thursday Thirteen list has thirteen shows I’m considering watching. I want to take a vote as to which one you think I should jump on. I’ve listed some that I’ve wanted to see, and some people keep telling me I should see. They are here in no particular order. :)

1. The Office
2. The Dead Zone
3. Lost
4. Grey’s Anatomy
5. Dead Like Me
6. Deadwood
7. Sex in the City
8. Supernatural
9. 4400
10. Desperate Housewives
11. Smallville
12. Rescue Me
13. Other – I always appreciate suggestions

Happy Birthday!

Today my youngest daughter turns six. It’s hard to believe she’s that old, but yet that young all at the same time. She’s starting to refuse my help with things and wants to do everything “by myself mommy”. I’m proud and sad all at the same time.

 Happy Birthday Baby!
