Weekly goals
I’m not sure how I’ve managed to switch this from Sunday to Monday the last few weeks. Oh yes I do, I’ve been reading KICK ASS books. I forgot.
I have my review below of Alien Overnight if you haven’t seen it already. I have a busy week ahead of me with lots on my plate for both the day job and the writing job. Renee and I got together last night to look over our story. Other than a few little blips we are going to smooth out this week, our story ROCKS!(This is me down to one cup a tea a day people. It’s all natural)I’ve also discovered I’m being haunted. Another reoccurring dream, one I haven’t had in a few months now, has come back with a vengeance. I don’t have time to write it down though. Too many other characters wanting to come out and play. But this story won’t leave me alone. Not even sure if it’s a novel or a novella. Knowing me, it will start short and then explode into 70k. I also need to work on my Duke’s story. I love it - I love him! But he may have to wait a week. Here’s what I have planned.
- Finish edits on Halloween story and submit to editor (might be hard because Renee is going away. The submit part might be next week)
- Finish revisions on Perfect Match and email editor
- Work on chapter 2 of Duke’s Story
Okay everyone, what do you have on your plate this week?

If the gods smile upon me and don’t throw any obstacles in my carefully planned week, I will indulge in 6 whole hours of kid-free writing time. ‘Course, that’s a big IF. I’m used to wrenchs in the works. Hell - whole toolboxes, - so though I look forward to it, I’m not counting on it. Hows that for cautious optimism?!
I have two wips on the go and hopefully will get a good 2000 words written on one or the other. Wish me luck…
and good luck with yours!

You’re going to convert us all with this weekly goal. Now who’s going to keep us honest. LOL! I didn’t get as much done today as I hoped but there’s always tomorrow and the day after that. I really need lessons in organization. There’s just too much going on in my head (and too many characters clamoring for attention.
)

My goal this week should be simple if I’ll be fortunate enough with the weather. I need to get a retaining wall put in. I hear the longest part of the task is getting the foundation set properly.

Hmm, my goals. Well, I’m pretty happy I made my weekend goals a reality. I’m planning out new chapters as we speak, and when I did my 7k last night a great new character burst out of my head. He’s annoying, but essential as his some what of minor competition for Willa’s affections.
I would like to do 2 to 3k a night so that I can get to my next goal of 40k before the Gwen Stefani concert, my prize for the next goal, I get Dragon Naturally Speaking. WooHoo, no more training my computer.
Plus if I get that much done I won’t feel as bad partying my brains out for three days with my cousin. Well, our partying (besides the concert) involves go shopping and staying up late to watch Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman.
I also want to send Journey off, for real this time. I’m sending it off.
Those are my lofty goals.

The goals sound awesome! Sounds like a busy week, Christine. Hmm, goals?
I’m fixing up VILLAIN.=)
Fixing up SEVEN SINNERS.
AND Working on untitled funny paranormal.
If I can get at least one of these out of my plate by Sunday, I’d be ecstatic! We’ll see . . .
WISH ALL OF YOU LUCK WITH THEIRS!

I’m aiming for an honest-to-God submission going out in the mail by the end of the week.

Julia, so am I. The proposal is going in the mail this week. I’ve got the quality paper, the proper envelopes and stamps for the SASE. All I need is a post card and, oh yeah, my ms back from it’s last and final (I hope) critique.

I just did my own post borrowing your theme. I need to a) Finish writing the short for Ellora’s Cave, then b) drag out my Fallen Gargoyles historical (non-paranormal) and edit the heck out of it ready for Dallas. Still working on synopsis - boy are they hard. And try not to freak out about all of the above, LOL.

LOL Even without caffeine, you still have more energy than me! Seriously, when I start slacking off, I think about all you accomplish, with a fulltime job, and it gives me a much needed reality check.
Ooh, lots of ladies in our group getting ready to wing their stuff off. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that we’ll have more good news to celebrate soon.

Way to go Julia, Anne and Annette! I hate the actual sending of the manuscript off part. Much easier just to write them!
Everyone else, you can DO IT!!
