My Sleepy…
I almost hate to write this, but I’m starting to get tired. Not a “gee I stayed up late to watch Heroes last night have haven’t had a coffee this morning” tired. But more of a “I think I’m burning out” tired. My day job has been keeping me hopping for months now. And while I love what I do, it takes it’s toll on my energy levels. I’m finding this is starting to sap my creative battery and it’s making it hard for me to write new stuff.
I’m working on edits, which while still hard, is easier for me to do than be creative. So I find myself writing very little new stuff on my Halloween story, and the plotting I’ve been planning to do for the follow up for The Bond That Ties Us hasn’t happened. I need a vacation…June…
Speaking of Heroes…Woot! I love what they did with the characters last night. Nathan is becoming a very dark character. I like that! And I love the fact that Mr. Bennet isn’t as nasty as we first thought. The next few episodes should be very interesting. I missed 24 so I could watch Heroes and will have to get caught up tonight with it. Can’t go without seeing Jack. ![]()

I would have tired out long before now Christine. I can’t believe how much you can accomplish in a week.

Your energy always astonished me! I was starting to think you were a robot!
Take it easy Christine! And take it from someone who’s been doing just that for the past couple of months… it’s not worth your health. Come to the dark side Christine! *evil grin* Where the naps are a bit longer and the only thing that matters is you and maybe what extra special treat you have for lunch

Oh, I know that feeling. I’ve been burned out for awhile. I have no vacations planned (somehow SAHM’s miss out on the paid vacation thing). If I’m feeling beyond, I play video games. I’ve been playing a lot lately.

I hate burn out! You need an energy break. A chance to just step away from what’s burning you out!
I love heroes… I think the concept of showing us what “might” happen is pretty darn cool. I’m totally addicted to the show. I feel like a Heroes junkie!

I feel for you. I know how it feels to have a burn out. I’m going through the same with things being so hectic in my job that my creative juices level has dropped below 0. I’ve not written anything in months. Do you have vacation time coming any time soon?

No vacation until the last weekend in June. I won’t get anymore until the last two weeks of August. I may have to look at trying to take a few days off before then, but it’s hard to get out of the classroom.

I think it’s that time of year when your batteries run low. The first quarter of the year has raced by, and you haven’t done what you hoped to do and with spring in the air you feel the need to get it done but lack time and energy. Don’t beat yourself up about it Chris, you have done amazing things so far this year. Give yourself time out, sit in the sun and enjoy a few lazy days and let thoughts run through your mind free of ‘I should be’, or ‘why haven’t I’. Your brain is listening to your tired body, give both a few days rest.

I always feel that if your creative well has run dry, your time is best spent filling it up again, rather than try to force pages out. Take a shorter amount of time to ‘play’, then the work part will also feel like play again.
Meanwhile, we watched 24 and are saving Heroes for the DVD release. We missed the beginning so we might as well watch it all at once.

I’m excited when Heroes came back last night. Lot of great thing happen and ohhhhhh Hiro see his future self. Wonder how he going to reacted to that one *grin*….and like you, am so glad to see that Claire adopted father isn’t bad person as he seem to be…well I hope so LOL
And speaking of “24″ gosh, I missed 30 min of it while watching “Dancing with the Stars”. I never miss “24″ and last night was the first. I got upset because I completely forgotten it was on LOL….
Sorry that you started off with bad day without your coffee. But like what the other people said, relax and recharge yourself…and then your creativty will flow smoothly
Try to have good day

I’ve nothing new to add to the great advice already given.
Take it easy on yourself! You know how everyone always says to give 110%? Well, I know a very wise woman who says to only give 90%, because you never know when you’ll need the extra 10% to start over again…
I missed a few weeks of Heroes in the last round and now I’m totally lost. Oh well… It’ll be a nice DVD box set to get myself for Christmas

My vacation is in July. I’m getting burned out … either that or I’m pregnant. Which I seriously hope it’s not the latter.
I’m there with ya. I feel your pain.

I’ve hit that I’m so tired I need a good long vacation NOW kind of tired. Bone dead tired. Disappear to a deserted island for a month tired. Actually…that sounds kind of good. Anyway, hope you get an energy boost soon!

Heroes is the best! My favorite is Hiro. He’s just so adorable and sweet and funny.
