Thursday Thirteen #21

I’m so excited because my family is coming to visit for Easter weekend. They are arriving Friday at lunch and are staying until Monday. Here are a few of the things I’ll be doing this weekend while they’re here. :)

On a side note, I won’t be very visible this weekend. I’ll try and pop around to say hi to everyone though. :)

Thirteen Things I Plan To Do For Easter Weekend.
1. See 300! I’m going with my husband, sister, brother-in-law, and Dad to see this in the IMAX. We’ve all been waiting so we could go together and I can’t wait!

2. Have some wine. I’m not a big drinker, but this has been a busy week at work and next week will be worse. For this weekend I plan on sitting back, relaxing and enjoying a glass of wine with my family.

3. Play with my niece and nephew. I don’t get to see them very often so I can’t wait to see how much they’ve grown. Plus my girls are really excited to have them staying over. :)

4. Hang out with my parents and sister. We haven’t really seen much of each other since my husband and I moved six years ago. Any chance we have to be all together is great.

5. Learn to knit! My grandmother is coming up as well. Every time I see her I try to get her to teach me how to knit. I’m slowly getting there.

6. Try and sneak some blog time in. A pipe dream I know. With everything going on I doubt I’ll even see my laptop let alone turn it on. :)

7. Watch Movies. Whenever my Dad and I get together, we always seem to watch movies. A lot of them. It’s a great way for me to get caught up on all the cheep movies I’ve picked up at the grocery store. :)

8. Eat. A lot. Enough said.

9. Eat chocolate. This is different thank #8. Everyone who loves chocolate knows this.

10. Hiding eggs. This is one of my favourite things to do. The only better thing is Easter morning when the kids go to find them.

11. Read. I’ll need a bit of unwind time at the end of the day. That means I’ll try and sneak a few chapters in from a book on my TBR list. It’s the only way to get that pile down.

12. Write. I know this won’t happen, but it makes me feel better to put it on my list. I’m thinking about writing.

13. Sleep. Because at the end of the day I’ll be really tired. Happy – but tired. :)

Hope you enjoy 300 and good luck with the knitting! :-)

  • Happy Easter! Looks like you’re going to have a wonderful weekend, have fun!
My TT is about oracle carddecks.

  • Hope you have a FABULOUS visit with your family, Christine. They sound like a terrific bunch.
And good luck with the knitting… I never found the patience for it because it’s not a multi-task sort of thing. And by that I mean, I can’t read while I do it! ;)

  • Sounds like you’ve got a really great relationship with your family, and for that, I’m envious.

Have a great weekend with them! The world won’t stop if you don’t get to write or blog surf, but we’ll all miss you! We’ll just have to comfort ourselves with thoughts of the inspirations you’re probably coming up with.

  • Sounds good to me!

I’m going to try to go to my parents’ Easter production at their church on Saturday night.. I’m just not excited about driving an hour there and back in the same night. :P

  • I love #12. :) Always keep your hand in it. If you can’t even THINK about writing then you’re not likely to be actually writing anytime soon, right?

  • What a great list, Christine! And, my goodness, of course chocolate is different. It is, after all, a foodgroup in itself. ;-)

Knitting is gaining lots of young new fans. My daughter plans to sign up for a class soon.

Have a wonderful Easter with your family!

  • I am so happy for you anticipating the weekend with your family…what a treat especially all the fun things you all do together. I was hoping to make it to my step-mum’s this weekend for the same kind of treatment and visit…but my boyfriend doesn’t have tomorrow off!? Can you believe it?

But from reading your list it reminds me how important to make the effort…I will plan a next long weekend visit!

Have a great weekend Christine sounds wonderful and so good for the children too.

  • Sounds like a wonderful, if very busy, weekend. Hope it turns out to be everything you’re looking forward to!

  • Happy Easter and Happy TT! I am celebrating my 300th post today and my 3 year old blog! So the 3 is echoing all over the place! :-)

  • Saw #1 last week. Both very good and slightly disturbing. I’ve just started a book that devotes a few pages to showing how in fact it should be the 298 Spartans not 300 but whats the odd spartan between friends? I’ll not say anything else in case I spoil it.

  • Sounds like it will be an action-packed weekend. Enjoy!!

  • Sounds like a great weekend. I would love to see 300, GB on Imax *drool*!

Happy Easter, enjoy your family and your weekend. Eat a chocolate egg for me.

Thanks for stopping by my blog, it looks like you are from Nova Scotia? We brought our kayaks up there last summer and loved it. I won’t take the Cat again b/c it’s expensive to have the kayaks on the car and after the trip last summer…….we will probably drive up and around.
    Have a great weekend!

  • I’m losing track of my days…forgot it was Thursday so missed T13!
Sounds like you have lots of good stuff planned…Happy Easter!
