This week proved to be an interesting one. Despite my day job being crazy busy, I managed to finish the first draft of Perfect Match, did three critiques, and managed to get a start on the Halloween story. My editor didn’t get back to me with the second round of edits on Bonds, so that helped. Now I feel like I’ve been able to get caught up. I even got some reading time in.
My goals for this week are going to be straight forward.
- Get through the first two chapters of the Halloween story
- Second round of edits for The Bond That Ties Us (I hope)
I’m not going to worry about a word count, but I’d like to aim for around 5000 words written. Might be a bit unrealistic as I won’t be getting much in the way of lunch hours again this week. We’ll have to see.
I’m also going to be posting a review of my friend Renee Field’s novella that is being released this Friday from Ellora’s Cave. Be sure to stop by on Wednesday to check it out!
What’s everyone else up to?
Well, thanks to someone’s generous critique I hope to crack away at that quickie. I’m going to try to work on my lunches, but so far that has proved futile.
I’m glad you feel your caught up. That’s a great feeling!
I’m working on edits and a synopsis…and a query letter…trying to get a submission out this week. Pressure, pressure.
Have a productive week!
What is this ‘lunch hour’ you career women speak of? Is this a gift from the writing gods? Where do I get one?
My agenda: 2 dentist visits (me & boy), 2 organized playgroups, 1 play date, 3 martial arts classes (not for me), summer camp sign-ups.
Think of me, y’all, while I’m getting a crown tomorrow!
Hate when blogger eats my lines!! End of my ‘agenda’ should have said,
“Oh, you mean writing goals? Nevermind….”
Where did it go? Now there’s a punchline roaming the blogosphere with no context!
Congratulations on finishing Perfect Match!! Hope you manage to squeeze in a couple of lunch hours, at least.
LOL
I have to wonder about the blogsphere and how much power it holds over our lives.
This is one week that I won’t mind if it goes by slowly. It’ll be that much longer that I stay 29.
Good luck with your goals, I’m sure you’ll do it!
