Thursday Thirteen #19

2. Jacob by Jacquelyn Frank- This one came to me via the Wicked Writers chat group. The flip side to Jaci’s world, the demons here are the good guys…and really sexy. Couldn’t put this one down at all! And I’ll be first in line for Gideon which is coming out this summer. 3. The Rest Falls Away by Colleen Gleason - I really enjoyed this book and totally want to have Max around my house. If you like Buffy The Vampire Slayer, I think you’ll enjoy this. Not your typical romance, but a great story. 4. Rogue Angle: Forbidden City by Alex Archer - I bought this last night on the recommendation of SciFi Chick aka Angela. Its officially on my TRB pile :). 5. Lover Revealed by JR Ward 7. Eragon by Christopher Paolini - Loved this book! I hadn’t read a straight fantasy novel in quite sometime. This was a great treat. Next up I’ll have to rent the movie. 8. Angel With Attitude by Michelle Rowen. Fellow TRW member Michelle’s book. It’s next on my TBR pile and I can’t wait to get to it. Michelle has a great sense of humor and I know that will be in her book as well. 9. Pleasure Prolonged by Cathryn Fox - The second book in Cathryn’s pleasure series. If you are looking for a hot read and some chuckles, this is the book for you. Plus the covers are beautiful!! 10. Surender To a Scoundrel by Julianne MacLean - I love historicals! They are what originally brought me to the world of romance and I’ll always love them. Julianne’s book is a very smart, enjoyable read that takes you into the world of yacht racing. Highly recommend it. 11. Storm Front by Jim Butcher - The first in the Harry Dresden books. Another one I’ve come to via Angela. I’m a big fan if the show and can’t wait to read this book. 12. The Dark Tower by Stephen King - The end of this series was a long time coming. I’m anxious to read the end and find out what happens to Roland. But I’ve decided to re-read the entire series first. It’s been so long I’ve forgotten what’s happened! lol 13. Eternally (Nocturne) by Maureen Child - This was my first introduction to Harlequin’s Nocturn’s line. It is a Highland type idea, where they are demon hunters. I enjoyed Maureen’s book and would read the next one in her series…if there is a next one. I’ll need to find out. |

I recently bought The Rest Falls Away too and I love it. I can’t wait for the next one! Amixture of Max, Sebastian and Phillip would be great.
My TT lists 13 of the cars we owned before our current one.
March 22nd, 2007 at 8:37 am
Those are some good ones!!
And even better, I got 3 of them for free!
March 22nd, 2007 at 8:42 am
I’m on the SK bandwagon
But yes, I’ve only managed to get a little ways into Cell–not sure I want to finish it, but I probably will out of loyalty if nothing else.

#1 & #3 are on my TBR mountain, as is the first J. R. Ward book. Hope you like Storm Front. *sigh* Harry Dresden. One of my favorite heroes.
March 22nd, 2007 at 8:45 am
I’ve been such a library nerd, I haven’t bought books in a long time. However, I do have the paperback of Between, Georgia on preorder. So that counts
March 22nd, 2007 at 8:57 am
Interesting list! The only crossover we share right now are the JR Ward books. I have the latest one staring at me. Happy TT!
March 22nd, 2007 at 9:55 am
I’ve got a lot of those on my TBR list too. The list always seems to get longer and I never get through it.
March 22nd, 2007 at 10:10 am
I’ve got Eragon on my beside table, glad to hear it’s worth reading. It’s next after I finish the three books I’m reading at once, LOL

I’ve heard great things about “Jacob” and I loved “Storm Front.” I’m up to book 5 in that series. I did try another of those books on your list and was heartily disappointed, I couldn’t get far in it at all. Maybe my expectations were too high.
March 22nd, 2007 at 10:46 am
Oooh I just bought Pleasure Prolonged and Pleasure Control. Can’t wait to read them.
Great list! I am so addicted to books…
March 22nd, 2007 at 10:48 am
I really need to pick up Jaci’s book and read it. I’ve heard so many great things about it.
Read Rest Falls Away and LOVED it.
If you liked Eragon, the second book Eldest is even better in my opinion. Though I will say I thought the movie was disappointing.
Happy TT!
March 22nd, 2007 at 10:52 am
Loved Eragon too. Must get Michelle’s book to take away with me. Great list of books - happy reading.
March 22nd, 2007 at 11:16 am
I have both Eragon and the first Jim Butcher on Mt. TBR. Hopefully it won’t take me two years to get to them (yes, two years. Ouch. I am SO behind!).
Happy TT and thanks for stopping in. Come visit more often!
March 22nd, 2007 at 11:37 am
Thank you Christine! So glad you enjoyed Surviving Demon Island!
I loved The Rest Falls Away! And of course JR Ward’s books. I have Jim Butcher’s Storm Front too in my TBR pile. Can’t wait to read it. So many books to read….

March 22nd, 2007 at 11:48 am
Surviving Demon Island is on my TBR pile too… all I need is a day off! Look at that… today is a day off… hmm.
Great list Christine… I feel a trip to Chapters coming along!
Happy TT!

March 22nd, 2007 at 12:25 pm
wow. I’ve haven’t read a single book on that list of yours…Heh, how do you go about choosing what book to read/buy anyway?
Happy TT~! Thanks for droppping by my blog =)
March 22nd, 2007 at 12:27 pm
I might have to get The Rest Falls Away just for the title. Yes, I’m a Buffy geek too!
As for the Dresden Files, the books are a little different from the TV series, a lot darker, but IMO they’re also a lot better!
March 22nd, 2007 at 12:34 pm
I haven’t read any of these yet, Christine, but after browsing your list I’ve got a bunch of new ones to add to my ever-growing TBR!
March 22nd, 2007 at 12:39 pm
I’ve heard of most of these books, but haven’t read any of them yet. More to add to the long list of books I want.
Thanks for visiting my list.
March 22nd, 2007 at 1:06 pm
Great list! I’ve got Colleen Gleason in my TBR pile, her book is next.
March 22nd, 2007 at 1:11 pm
Sounds like you have plenty of good reading ahead of you. Isn’t that a great feeling…books just piling up before you? Have fun!
March 22nd, 2007 at 2:33 pm
I’ve only read #1 which you know I loved but some of those others are on my want list. I do have an ARC of Rises the Night by Colleen Gleason (to review as my other persona) that I hope will stand alone since I haven’t read The Rest Falls Away.
March 22nd, 2007 at 2:45 pm
Great list! I had been thinking about reading Eragon even though fantasy is not my usual genre. I did enjoy all the Harry Potters though. Thanks for a great list and for stopping by my TT!
March 22nd, 2007 at 5:10 pm
I just ordered J.R. Ward’s latest book from Amazon and I can’t wait to read it again.
March 22nd, 2007 at 6:48 pm
I just bought The Rest Falls Away, too! I can’t wait to read it.
Happy TT!
March 22nd, 2007 at 8:52 pm
The Dark Tower series is marvelous! I need to read the last one, too. Ah, so many books, so little time!
Happy TT, and thank you for visiting my blog!
March 22nd, 2007 at 9:47 pm
Terrific list. I did a review of Jaci’s book a week or so ago. It was fantastic and I’d recommend it. I also have two author interviews up this week with Nocturne authors Caridad Pineiro and Vivi Anna instead of my TT list this week.
How do you find time to read and write? It’s the one thing I struggle with. I have a hard time, especially when I’m writing. Though I did finish a project recently and dug into Christine Feehan’s Deadly Game and am now reading chick lit from author Gemma Halliday. But I need to get back to the keyboard, so this will be the last book for a while.
March 22nd, 2007 at 10:38 pm
I got burned out on romance novels a few years ago and seldom read that genre these days. You made some of them sound like good ones to come back to. Thanks for coming by my blog.
March 22nd, 2007 at 10:56 pm
I’m intrigued. I think I need to find a copy of that Colleen Gleeson book…
March 22nd, 2007 at 11:00 pm
Great list!
March 23rd, 2007 at 7:15 am
Thanks to everyone for stopping by! I’ve been crazy busy this past week and don’t feel like I’ve spent enough time with everyone.
Gabriella I go in spurts. When I’m in between drafts I usually try and read a book or two. Depending on the book I can get through them in a few days. Usually while I’m soaking in the tub! Multitasking skills at their best.
March 23rd, 2007 at 11:12 am
I wish I had more time to read. Or maybe I just need help managing my time. Or maybe I’m just too darn lazy. Anyway thanks for stopping by my Thursday Thirteen #34 The 13 Things You Wish You Could Say At Work Edition.
BTW does the woman in your banner even have toes? Juuusst curious.
March 25th, 2007 at 5:28 pm
I almost bought “Pleasure Prolonged” the other day but passed it by for Alluring Tales because it has a Sasha White story. Turns out the first story was by Cathryn Fox and it was awesome! Definitely need to go back and check out her other writings! Jaci’s book is a must for everyone. Trust me.
Jacob by Jacquelyn Frank sounds VERY intriguing….
March 26th, 2007 at 4:00 pm
I’m grateful for recommendations, I have no patience browsing.
