Visiting Old Friends

I haven’t really looked at Perfect Match since the end of October. I’d managed about 130 pages before I stopped and flipped over to All Bottled Up. Yesterday, I sat down and took a look at it for the first time and had to cringe. I like the premise still, but boy do I have my work cut out for me.

That said, I was able to come to several key realizations about the plot and now have some ways to fix the issues I was having. I’ve plowed through the first chapter and am going to tackle chapter two tonight.

I also realized that I need to change the physical description of my hero. I didn’t clue in at the time, but I borrowed quite heavily from this hero (Ben) when I described my genie (Jerod). As Jerod is perfect (and very yummy) the way he is, poor Ben is going to go from black to brown hair, and from blue to brown eyes. Poor Ben.

  • Isn’t that funny how things can change. You know I am a sounding board.

I still haven’t even looked at my NaNo Fox’s Bride … well maybe just one little peek … AAAAAAAHHH. Nope still can’t face it.

    Good luck with the revisions!

  • … know how you feel! Last night, about 2am, I decided I needed to change my hero’s backstory, thus his motivation. Going with a more traditional ‘must save my family name’ approach, rather than revenge against tyrant father. Hope it will better serve his actions…
LOTS of work to do now, to go back and change it all!!

  • Realizations are goooood. Good luck with it!

  • Love the new look! Congratulations!

And I have to agree with Kelly…realizations are good. I just like them to come earlier on…
